  1. I think they could have struck a balance between the animated versions and the CG characters. I think the movie designs have been so far off that I couldn't even bring myself to buying most of the figures from the first movie except for Ironhide and that gray/white Decepticon APC vehicle that wasn't even in the movie. From what I've seen so far of the sequel, I don't think I'll be buying ANY of the figures this time. They went overboard with the "alien" robot concept. I can understand that they had to do away with the humanlike faces of the animated characters, but I think they could have retained the general look of their bodies without making them look so odd in robot mode. I mean the designs translate so poorly into toys. Most of these characters just don't look cool at all in robot mode.
  2. Nice, but damn you, Yamato! Why can't you go ALL THE WAY with a true TV version and give us a proper TV style cockpit with the right display and control panel?!
  3. Has anyone figured out a way to raise the shoulders higher in Battroid mode on the YF-19? I liked that they added that feature to the shoulders, but on mine, it seems like the range of motion allows them to be angled up higher, but in the end, they flop back down because there's no way to lock them into that higher position. It would have been nice if they had incorporated a ratchet joint there so the shoulders could be angled at different positions instead of the just-slighty-raised position.
  4. Just watched it tonight. Like alot of you, I have some of the same gripes about the plot, but the main thing that bothered me, too, was that the future didn't seem as bleak as it has been portrayed in the first 2 movies. I thought they were going to show a graphic depiction of the nuclear attack at the beginning for starters. And if this nuclear war had been as intense as it was, you would rarely see daylight and stuff would look more f'ed up than it was. Hell, survivors would still be suffering from radiation poisoning. Just my 2 cents.
  5. These figures look great. Would really like them to do some Inbit stuff though. And carry on with the Macross line, too. Really need a Kakizaki figure to finish up the Macross DYRL pilots and a Guld figure to accompany Isamu.
  6. I attended Super Con in San Jose last weekend and Kevin McKeever was at the Robotech.com panel. My friend asked him what was going on with this, and he replied that the deal is still on to make them, but that Bandai is holding up the deal. The new heads were sent to Bandai for approval and manufacturing, but there hasn't been anything new to report from the Bandai side of things.
  7. Yeah, no kidding. It's a pedophile's dream come true. Geez, it doesn't even look like she's hit puberty yet, especially upstairs.
  8. I was under the impression that a 2nd version had already been released, but if it hasn't, that explains why my friend just got one from Overdrive with a cracked shoulder out of the box. Luckily, he notified them, and they are sending him a replacement shoulder.
  9. There was a guy who had customized a VF-1S Focker into a TV version by making the cockpit control panel look like it should for the TV Valks (something I think Yamato SHOULD have done) and modding the head so that it sat up higher in fighter mode. He did some other things, but I forget what. Perhaps someone can find the original thread? They REALLY need to make a proper TV version with a Roy Focker in his TV version flight suit. I'd be all over that!
  10. Hey Dyno, any chance you can make something similar to that piece that goes behind the neck on the 1/48's for the new 1/60's or does no one else really have a problem with the back of the neck being exposed? It's one of the turnoffs for me about the Battroid mode on the 1/60, and one of the positives for me for the 1/48 Battroid. If Yamato came out with side covers and that neckpiece, I would probably replace all my 1/48's with their 1/60 equivalents.
  11. Still lacking detail, especially on the shoulders around the head, and those joints in the upper arms and backs of the knees have really turned me off. I can't believe the YF-19 didn't even have the landing gear doors on the legs molded in.
  12. Well, I think they will definitely make a Shinobu to use that Houquet mold again.
  13. Oh, ok. Thanks, jenius. I don't know how I missed that thread. I guess this one can be closed.
  14. Not sure if anyone has posted this yet. I was checking out this article on www.collectiondx.com, and it shows a picture of all the 1/60 pilot figures. The article says that it is a picture of all the current 1/60 and some upcoming pilot figures. Well, check out what famous couple is in the picture!!! http://www.collectiondx.com/news_item/0505...0_pilot_madness
  15. Well, since you know your fighters, I'll take your word for it. Been thinking about picking these up since I really want one of these in fighter mode, and the DX's aren't worth the asking price.
  16. This seems to be a regular problem with the 1/60's. I had this problem with the VF-1D. I was almost going to disassemble the leg, but after another attempt at yanking the thruster out, it finally gave. Not sure why the thrusters are so hard to pull out sometimes. As I stated before, I never had this problem with any 1/48. They have always come out smoothly. I'm not too concerned about it since I don't plan on really transforming them much. Fighter mode is where these shine, IMO. The shoulder issue is what really concerns me, and the less I mess with them, the less I'm worried they'll break there. Although those cases of them being broken straight out of the box isn't too reassuring either. I have a couple of VF-1A Hikarus that I still haven't opened yet. I guess I'll have to check them out just to see if the shoulders are ok.
  17. I was wondering why the Mac Zero SV-51 doesn't come with intake covers? Was it like that in the anime?
  18. Geez, Japanese chicks act so goofy!
  19. Cool. Thanks. I guess this thread can be closed.
  20. Hi all, I have a Hasegawa VT-1 Super Ostrich kit that someone is interested in buying from me, but it is buried in my storage. Before I go through the trouble of looking for it, I wanted to know if this kit comes with any pilot figures because I am not sure. If it does, are they the regular pilots, or do you get a pilot figure and one of Minmay in that special suit she wore?
  21. Has anyone removed the heatshield from any of the new 1/60s? I would like to buy a DYRL VF-1A Max and swap out the heatshield with the VF-1S Max, but I'm worried that I could break the pegs on the heatshields.
  22. You missed have had your eyes closed during the scene where Max takes on Miria in DYRL.
  23. Haven't seen it and don't plan to. DB is just one of those many manga/animes that should NEVER be made into live-action. CG, sure, but live-action, NO WAY! This movie didn't even merit an attempt. If most fans weren't even clamoring for a live-action movie in the first place, then why did they bother making it only to lose millions?! Dragonball/DBZ is so out there in just about everything, you could never do a live-action movie that would do it justice. Even if you had Spielberg backing it up and you had an all-star cast, I think it would still suck. When will these movie companies learn?!
  24. Anyone heard any news on whether or not Kaiyodo is going to continue with the Macross Revoltech line?
  25. Geez, did they take enough panty shots?!
