I wanted this done by the time MWcon came around, but it looks like that won't happen. If not, this kinda throws a wrench into that, but not a deal breaker for the cosplay.

NIce, I'm working on a DYRL cosplay as well. Just got all the foam stuff and the shoulder pieces just need to be put together. Working on the backpack now. Should be done hopefully soon.

I need to get on this (That what she said). I have all these extra armor parts to mix and match. Sadly, I have a feeling that this thread will be done when I finally get a chance to unwrap all the moving boxes. In any case, thanks all for putting up great pics. I want to put up some mix & match shots of the YF-25 Prophecy in what is supposed to be the Paladin sets. That will have to come when I can get settled.

I'm wondering why they now are saying that the painted versions will now be October, when originally they said if you order a medium size, they'd be ready in July/August. I hope the person who works for them can sort this stuff out in this thread. was counting on getting mine prior to October and in painted condition.

I have my email quotes given me by Masei. If they change it, I may have to get my deposit back for trying to pull a bait and switch.

Robotech Academy - You want a new Robotech series...?
Jasonc replied to Einherjar's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
If you're referring to Tommy Yune, he never graduated from Art Institute. At least that's what he mentioned when he was talking to another AI graduate and Macross fan back in 07.- 2025 replies

Wasn't Kevin the one who snarked at people who asked where the money was going, when decent RT fans had concerns? I think he basically compared some campaigns and mentioned how they didn't say where all their funds were going. Yet, I point to this: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/194429923/star-trek-axanar?ref=discovery Seems like a production that spells everything out properly and with well defined goals... AND........ the fans believe in it. I haven't been on their KS comments page in forever, but I was reading it yesterday and found it interesting that it's all about rights and more useless myths going on.- 2025 replies

Robotech Academy - You want a new Robotech series...?

Finally got around to finishing that YT video. It has more holes in it than swiss cheese, and totally ignores the fact that most of the fans that have gripes about the Kickstarter, are in fact, Robotech fans that don't want to support a half thought out piece of garbage by Tommy Yune. Yes, I said Tommy Yune, because I know Tom Bateman used to talk to Carl quite often, and when the conversation of Robotech would come up regarding Carl and what he was trying to work on, it wasn't this. He was working on what would've been sequels to Shadow Chronicles. As far as the idea of their LLA, That was something Carl had thought of doing well before it was done, when the lull in the franchise was maybe at its peak. In any case, what most people here have said makes a deal of sense. The idea that it's all Macross fans trying to kill his nostalgia and making him cry foul is simply not true. I also found that his idea that Robotech is better than the original source material is quite laughable. Sure, he's welcome to his own opinion, just like everyone is welcome to criticize his opinion, or lack of taste, or whatever you feel you want to. I personally couldn't careless about it. If he's happy that barely 2200 people in the entire world are backing a franchise that is supposedly a popular household name is great, more power to him. Maybe the fact that many of us are standing away from the picture, is the reason why we can see it on the whole for what it really is, and what's really wrong with it.- 2025 replies

One way to kill a project on a Kickstarter, is to say that if the project fails, the show may still go on. IF that is indeed the case WHY THE F!@#$%$%^ WOULD YOU BOTHER TO FUND IT? I'm sure Frank thought "why spend my money when the fans can do it for me" but if it may still go on, fans should ask "Why spend my money when HG can do it for me." See how that works?- 2025 replies

I had them on sale for quite awhile. Sold all of them, but they might be able to be found here, or at least on eBay for a decent price.

To play devil's advocate here, tribbles can be trouble, and fairy monkies have been known to follow wicked witches that live in the land of Oz. On a side note, I did see the Lindsay character and geez, is it just me, or does this character look a lot like Korra from the Nickelodeon show Legend of Korra?- 2025 replies

No, I was referring to a few that like to come out of the woodwork when comments are made here. It's already been awakened. It does seem that a large portion of those supporting the project are mainly in the U.S., despite having a larger fan base in Central/South America. I think that's the problem there. It also doesn't help that all these years, they couldn't handle criticism, and just banned people that didn't follow their gospel. Add those, along with countless people who would back them if HG wasn't so aggressive in keeping the copyright to the name Macross all over the world and blocking Macross, and you have a lot of pissed off people in one form or another. I read some of the posts today on the KS page, and it's funny that the delusional fans think that there's only a "few" fans that aren' happy with the franchise. This seems to be a big reality check. You got the bug, pass it on. LOL- 2025 replies

As Rick James once said, "Cocaine is one helluva drug" (no, I'm not advocating drug use) As far as Tom's comments, I'm waiting for the crazies to come out and post from their little tin hat bunkers any day now. If one sentence could incite a 2 hour podcast, imagine several paragraphs. Get ready for a mini series.- 2025 replies

I gotta ask, what cabinet is this? I'm probably going to be looking into new cabinetry once I'm settled in, and would love to go a little more fancy.

The fact is, there are enough Robotech fans to fund this thing. The problem HG has, is that they assume that fans want to pay for something to be made for the sake of furthering Robotech. That's not true. Robotech fans just want to see something new, but don't want to invest in it. In any case, as of now, they need roughly $18,600+ to make the goal. They haven't made that kind of money since it started.- 2025 replies

Got some electrical parts to light it up, along with a switch for the lighting unit. I'll end up doing a build of it as time goes and I start work on it, in a different thread of course.

There won't be updates for awhile, as I'm beginning to move into our new house (that will fit the arcade games). I will revive this when the time comes.

I'll just laugh at all the suckers who paid into this crap. I'm geared up for more Macross next year, and A SERIES, not a slim chance in hell of one getting picked up.- 2025 replies

I love my set. This is a great set to have. If you have the Yamato helmets, or plan to cosplay in this, it's a kit worth getting. Yes, it does require some work (I got the fully unassembled kit), but it does allow for some customization. I plan to set up some LED lighting in the life support monitor. It's a very nice kit. The fact that there are only a few days doesn't give you much time to dwell on it, but from my own opinion in having it, I'm quite thrilled to have it.
