  1. You need decal paper with white backing if you're going to do the white decals, in which case, you'd need to put a black line around them so you know where they're at. Other than that, it's not difficult to do. I'd do them for a few of you if I was able to get enough time on the laser jet printer at work, but eventually, I'll be hooking up my 9 color printer for some good decal stuff. I'm trying to bring a few more people to this. How many more do we need?
  2. I was actually kinda bummed out, cause I was going to buy a few other helmets, not Macross related, but with this type of service, and not being able to follow on their word (which should mean everything), I'm going to pass on the other few. It ends up being their loss, and while I still hope it's just some thing where they're busy (shipping everyone's stuff out), I'll probably stay away from any of their product. It does make me wonder if they were actually going to send this stuff, since they kept trying to sell me on getting the bubble face shield and all that. I hate to say it, but I think they would've taken that money and ran with it.
  3. Cool. Can't wait.
  4. Any pics of the build?
  5. OK, so it appears I've been screwed over by Masei helmets. They never sent the repair parts for my helmet, and kept extending the time. Now, they will not respond to my emails. Kinda sucks, cause I had a specific use for it, but yeah, guess between the botched first shipping, the double accounts here, the fluffed advertising they've done, and now deciding to not be people of their word, I'm starting to regret buying it. I'd rather not give business to a company that can't follow their word. I know there are a few others who feel the same. It's just sad. Well, that's my rant. I just pulled a few potential buyers from them, so I guess it all balances out in the end. I'll probably continue to sway a few more in the coming days, so that's that. If there's any revisions, I'll respond later. Anyways, that's my rant.
  6. If anyone else has a double, or multiple order the want to lighten, I'll take your other order. Please PM me. Sorry, had to put that here just in case.
  7. There's only a couple toys I've ever ordered doubles of. This, will be one of them. While I could nitpick at some of the questionable design choices here, I'm not. I know nothing of this company, and the fact that they are taking a chance on this (let's face it, we were all holding out a mighty long time for one of the two big Macross toy lines to do something) says a lot. Plus, the price point isn't as bad, considering it will probably be sold in limited quantity, and may end up being one of those "I can't find this thing anymore" toys that people later on pay through the nose for. I love the design, and the fact that I've been able to get a VF-4, and now possibly a VF-2SS means a lot to me as a fan of those.
  8. If you can get more orders for them, please let me know.
  9. Message sent. Hopefully we can work it out.
  10. I agree with that route for the missiles. The Chronicles doesn't show it as being able to fire full sized HMMs from a bay like that.
  11. The painting could be done on an assembly line type of deal. I could do that, but here's the problem... The WSF is not too friendly for that glossy look, and it is a tedious job getting the sponge like properties of it nice and clear. The two ways to combat this is 1) putty evey part with a light, easy sandable putty. Testors is good for this, and can fix the micro holes. 2)Mr. Surface drybrushed on and then sanded (thanks to Exo for this). The drawback to this, from my own experience as well, is that it's expensive stuff, and to do a lot of pieces would be costly. 3) instead of doing all this, you take it to someone with a higher res 3D printer, and have them do it. Then make recast of the parts in the proper colors, of which I know a few people who could do this, myself included. While the last option is probably the best, it'd be even better if you can recast them yourself. It is your project, and you should reap the reward for it. Recasting, while it'd make it more toy like with color, would require some other person's hand in it.
  12. Yeah, I missed this, too. Asked and it was too late. Have the money, and looking at other things to spend it on out of frustration for missing it.
  13. Nice!!! Great design and engineering. I'll probably order mine in WSF, then thin layer it with putty to smooth out the slightly sponge like texture. This is going to be a fun kit to work on.
  14. I'd post pics of them, but I'm still waiting for them to send my damn parts they promised to send me a long time ago. So far, they keep saying a couple weeks, and they've said that a few times now.
  15. Sorry, not sell on it at this time. I have the one without the boosters, so if I can get that one to look as I'd like, I probably will. I can search Macross Chronicles later this afternoon When I get home.
  16. Very nice. Looks great.
  17. OK, sorry if the pics are big. I had a chance to actually find it this late at night (trying to unpack after moving) and finally found it. the length of the 1/72 kit measures about 8.5-8.75 inches. the top part of the Ghost is supposed to be a bit further out than the bottom, and because it isn't attached yet and has some chaff pieces to remove, I couldn't put it on. In any case, I don't know the length as opposed to a VF-1, but the Macross Chronicles may help resolve the size issue. I sincerely hope this helps. Let me know if you need any more stuff.
  18. You'll probably need pics of the issue. I'm trying to picture it, but actual pics would help a lot. As for the 19 intake covers, if he has a 3D printer, he probably has a CAD program to do them? If not, maybe try contacting one of the guys in the workshop forum section, and see if you can commission replacement parts from one of them. I have the software to do it as well, but my 19 is packed away. It might take me awhile before I can do any of this stuff. Oh, and welcome to the forums. Hope you enjoy your stay.
  19. I'll find the box today and see if I can get that too you tonight.
  20. Another option for the forward laser, is to simply have it attach/detach from the main body. It'd keep the laser accurate to the line art. So far, I'm really liking where it's going. Great work.
  21. It's starting to look like a real winner here. While I haven't kept up all 22 pages (except the last couple), anyone see any parts yet that might be issues, even repeats of issues from the ver. 1?
  22. I'm definitely still interested when this comes, 1/60???
  23. Do you have the 1/72 kit that came out several years ago? I got the version with and without the fast pack/boosters. It does have panels on that kit, I'm assuming, for landing gear. I think it'd be a great feature. It might almost be easier to do if you can find a kit in that scale that has similar gear already. As for the "mini HMM", I liken them to the small ones on the Fast packs that the VF-25 has. Otherwise, I'd say it was just animation error, unless there's written description of the missiles.
  24. Very nice. I was just talking to one of the members here about making this, and low and behold, it's here. Talk about the stars being right or something. If it can be hollowed out in certain places, you definitely should have space for little moving parts. For the retractable gun, I can see it resembling a sort of recessed switch with a small tab on it. I do my design stuff in Solidworks, so it's a bit different than this program, but I love the look of it. It'd be nice to have something to consume my 19's other ordinance. Anyways, not sure, but if you want any help or anything, let me know. As for the X-9, I have a kit of it in 1/72 with the boosters/fast packs. Great kit, and at 1/72, it's quite large. I always had the feeling it was bigger than 1/72. In any case, Xigfrid, if you want references for it, let me know.
