  1. I'll believe it when I see it. I'm sorry but everyone was saying the same with the YF-21 and see what a hideous looking Battroid mode we got with that thing.
  2. It is because you are comparing two different scales with two Valkyries that do not share the same dimensions. When we scale something, it means for e.g. 1 cm on a model/toy would equate to 55 cm or 60 cm for a real world representation of the object. The calculations (for Battroid) go as follows: Height of YF-19: 15.48 meters = 1548 cm Height of VF-1: 12.68 meters = 1268 cm at 1/60 scale YF-19: 1548 cm / 60 = 25.8 cm VF-1: 1268 cm / 60 ~ 21.13 cm at 1/55 scale YF-19: 1548 cm / 55 ~ 28.145 cm VF-1: 1268 cm / 55 ~ 23.055 cm The ones in bold are what you where comparing. As you can see the VF-1 and YF-19 in the Macross universe have completely different dimension. Essentially the YF-19 is bigger than the VF-1. Hope this helps you out a bit.
  3. I suppose it's good news, although it seems like it took way too long to figure this mess out. And this information is useless to me, if at the end of the day I'm still going to be playing Russian roulette with Yamato's releases. If they can't or are unwilling to invest a couple of cents on a sticker that says "revised", "ver 1.5" or whatever then they won't get any money from me. Oh, and the same goes for the YF-19. Give us a sticker or release the damn combo pack already.
  4. I don't have a ROKR but a KRZR K1, and normally you should go into Settings -> Connection -> USB Settings and select "Memory Card" as your default connection. That way when you hook it up to your PC, it should identify it as a removable drive. Hope this helps.
  5. And if I could have exactly four valks expelled from this line, then it would be the fire bomber squad. I do, if I'm collecting 1/100 valks. I'm saddened to see that the VF-19 ranks so low with everybody, come on VF-19S Blazer!!! And to add misery it's sharing the same amount of votes with the boring YF-19...
  6. Black Valkyrie already posted the news in the Gundam Figure Thread, so I'll spread the news for this one: GUNOTA IS SIGNING OFF Everybody pop in your CCA soundtrack and play "Aurora" (#14) while reading those last two entries.
  7. I thought the part swapping would bug me, but somehow I don't really feel that irritated about it. Obviously the less the better, PT is always win in my book. If it comes down to removing the limbs and re-plugging them back in, then I really hope Bandai invest the time and effort to making sure the parts lock in securely.
  8. Well if the arm of your 1/100 VF-0 suddenly popped off, then you would at least know it's by design... parts swapping and all...
  9. Absolutely fantastic news. Looks like my secret wish did come true. (see my original post here) Finally something other than the plain old YF-19... the possibilities VF-19S, F and P... The 1/100 VF-1 from Bandai should be interesting, wonder whether that's going to have part swapping? Regardless, I think it will definitely trash the Toynami one in the looks department.
  10. Two small pictures and word that it has part swapping, but not knowing what exactly has to be swapped and you are already deeming this failure. That is truly an uninspiring attitude you are displaying. [fight mode] Come on Kensei, come on... [/fight mode]
  11. This makes no sense to me. What does a "garbage American cartoon" have to do with an "American English dub"? You do realize that the first voice track of a cartoon aimed for the American market is going to be English. Or are you trying to brain wash us and tell us that Batman, Superman and Justice League actually had Japanese track prior to the English one?
  12. ...and what an uninspired thread title it is for this toy. If your creating so much hassle over 1/72 model pics than at least be consistent with the thread titling for 1/60 and 1/100.
  13. And here is a slightly bigger scan of the page. Found it through one of the member postings on dannychoo.com I'd appreciate it if somebody where so kind to translate text for the 1/100 stuff. Thank you.
  14. Forget about the heat shield. I'm just hoping that Battroid mode doesn't turn out to be a crappy compromise like the YF-21.
  15. More Macross Frontier stuff: - Courtesy of Gunota So can this be considered the "1/100" line or is this something entirely different?
  16. Well my ideal M7 lineup would be - VF-19S - VF-19F - VF-17D - VF-11D - VF-5000G I could care less about those "cirque du soleil" variants that Basara and the gang use.
  17. Catching up reading here and would like to bring a contra to this statement here: I can't really say for Eureka, but I think you are doing Bandai injustice with the Code Geass merchandise. They are selling a wide variety of stuff, catering to different demographics. You have "In Action offshoot" for smaller budgets (aka Kids), than you have the "Mechanic Collection" addressing the modellers and "Mechanic Complete Model" (like HCM) for the higher end collectors. Considering the only competition out there comes from Mega Houses "Palm Action" stuff, Bandai could of just done one line and call it a day - but they didn't! So just because Bandai screwed up with Macross doesn't mean they screw up with every other franchise out there. But call me nuts, I'm actually more exited about the 1/100 line. Why? Because I'm secretly hoping we finally get some M7 VF-19 variants.
  18. After yelling and complaining to Yamato for months and months - WE WANT SIDE COVERS - what do we get... a clip for the fuselage So I'd say your fears are not stupid but valid... very, very valid.
  19. Dante before you splurge that money, have you had a look at ATI's latest round of video cards? Apparently the Radeon 4850 can match/beat Nvidias 8800GTS and 9800GTX chips. ATI's Radeon 4870 is very similar in performance to Nvidia's GTX 280 but it's roughly half the price. And if your still going for that dual video card setup thing, then you will have to change your choice of mainboard when using ATI cards.
  20. Thanks for the great pics swoosh. That battroid mode looks bad ass!!! Are my eyes deceiving me or does that battroid look like it has side covers A custom job swoosh or did Yamato miraculously include them?
  21. Looking good, but still no side covers and judging from the box layout it isn't going to happen either. Quite disappointed about this. The floppy head comes from the mis-transformation I think. If you look at the third pic closely you can clearly see that the fuselage isn't sticking out between chest-plate and head.
  22. Zebu, great fix to a craptacular approach on Yamato's behalf. That's Yamato for you. Invest 200% engineering fighter mode and maybe 50% for battroid mode...
  23. Go, go, go Bandai!!! Show those Yamato fools what a correctly engineered, good looking, articulated and securely locking battroid mode is all about.
  24. Really liking these latest pics of the VF-1. The legs look very refined. Do you guys think the legs are double jointed? The knee cap seems to be sitting on it's own, which is sort of like the knee assembly of the MG Gundam MK.II Ver.2 I'm kind of indifferent to the whole fuselage thing. This goes into the same drawer like the radome thing on the 1/48s, meaning it's a useless gimmick to me. In fact I'd prefer a pair of SIDE COVERS than this gimmick. Besides, do we get the extra fuselage with the valk or is a minimum of two valks required to pull this of?
  25. Nice pics everybody. Graham's review is OK, but it could have given more details on the Battroid mode. Judging by the pics I'd say Fighter = godly Gerwalk = OK Battroid = bad/ugly It's the legs, they just don't do it for me. In fact I would have to revert one of my previous posts, where I said the legs were too curvy. Now I think they are too straight. Battroid mode of the YF-21 should always give that "Yo, my mama was a Q'Rau" feeling. Sadly I'm not getting that impression. It's kind of annoying that Yamato emphasizes one mode over the other, but hopefully they will correct that with the new ver.2 1/60 VF-1s and maybe the VF-11.
