    Yeah... not feeling it, Battroid looks "stiff", there is no flair to it. The front feet are not right, the YF-19 has never had such strong incline towards the shin/ankle area. The Plamax kits will probably also kill this in the articulation department. I don't know, this all feels a bit too late from Hasegawa.

    I love the articulation Max Factory is giving to this kit so far, the one I'd like confirmation on is if it can pivot it shoulders forward for natural two hand Gunpod holding, because I hope we finally get to do this:

    I may be alone on this, but the legs on the HMR look worse compared to the previous version. It lacks the right contours, curvature and tapering towards the feet, making it look very "puffy" – the front part of the feet are barely visible and unsightly angular cutout along the inner legs is not helping it either. Also the arm proportions don't look right at all, they are reaching down to the lower legs!? Makes the HMR VF-19 look clumsy.

    Clearer images of MPG Super Ginrai and MP Ginrai have surfaced. Thoughts... So my previous assumption about the arms is obsolete, them sticking far up seems to be by Takara's design/engineering, Not great but I can live with it, as alt-mode is always secondary to me. Articulation for Super Ginrai seems weaker compared to core Ginrai and I wish Takara had come up with a solution to have the rear trailer wheels recess along the the feet instead of leaving it jutting out unsightly like that and breaking sculpt cohesiveness.

    I could be wrong, but from the tiny image it seems like the cab is not fully coupled to the trailer and maybe arms sticking so far up is a way to put in in stationary mode or something like that.

    Awesome! It's only a blurry image, but it already looks miles ahead from third party options and Takara seems to be putting on their A-game for articulation. Hopefully robot and truck will be similat in size to MP-44. Also I just noticed that Ginrai is an entry for MP not MPG as previously speculated.

    I'll certainly watch this, but to be honest the whole Zeon view point certainly dampens my excitement. I just can't bring up enough sympathy for that side to care, it's also why 0080 doesn't rank so high with me.

    It's using the body that was first introduced with the Astray Red Dragonics – new waist, leg, foot and shoulder pauldron. This results in better articulation – more ab-crunch, drop-down hips, deeper knee bend and greater foot movement. Here is a comparison that I borrowed from Hacchaka that has the old and updated body next to each other.

    Yeah, I have this one too and it is great piece with thoughtful engineering for superb articulation. Looking forward to pairing this up with the Shin Getter 1 reissue in a couple of months. Great posing by the way, you should post some of those in the "Strike a pose" thread for others to see. One question, are you able to move the metal ring the shoulder covers are attached to on yours? My understanding is that the ring can be rotated forward/backward for repositioning of the shoulder covers, but it's very stiff on mine and I'm too scared to force it.

    I'm curious to know what the Japanese take is on these films. Do they feel like their pride and honour has been insulted by Hollywood or is it more like SOC Mecha-Kong when? Also, Gamera when?

    This thing looks chonky? The PLAMAX rendition of Battroid mode is as close to line art we have ever come in capturing that utilitarian compactness – something the VF-1 once stood for. Things like a narrow gap between chest and backplate, smaller V-shape chest, heats shield that is not sitting flush with the chest or a head tucked in between collars/shoulder plates all contribute to this and make this model kit refreshing/pleasing to the eye. It's unfortunate that modern toys started bloating the VF-1 and loosing all of these finer points in the design, which in turn has lead to an obscured general perception of what a VF-1 Battroid should look like.

    With all these MRD announcements I'm thirsting for some new MB or GFFMC right about now. Any possible Tamashii target dates one can look forward to?
