I think it looks fantastic in all modes and the pricepoit seems fair to me. Amazing what Bandai has pulled of here in 1/100 scale, especially when you compare it to Yamato's poor 1/60 YF-19.

As long I don't have to deal with mouth pieces, boobs and speaker packs on Gundams in the main UC timeline, I can live with the ugly ones out there.

What I wanted to point out was that Bandai changed the leg armor to allow for better knee articulation. This was originally one of the biggest complaints about Unicorn Gundam. Anyway Ngee Khiong updated his post with the following info: * New color for the body * New design elements incorporated, including the Vulcans on the head. * Improved joints for the waist and leg - waist can rotate for 360 degrees, leg's movable range upgraded by 150 percent. * New customized cage (? - 専用ケージ) included. Extra parts can be stored in the cage. The beam saber can be stored at the back of the base. Can combine with Action Display Base 1, all arms are movable. (Something like the factory container as seen in PG GP01/Fb I think) * 3 figures in 1/100 scale included: Banagher Links, Audrey Burns, and Marida Cruz * 3 types of antenna included: transformable, opened and closed types * Weapons: Beam Magnum, Hyper Bazooka, shield, beam saber (didn't say anything about the double beam Gatling) * 25 runners in total. Foil sticker, clear sticker and dry transfer decal included.

There is a promotion/trailer video for the new OVA that can be accessed here: http://www.votoms.net/gen-ei/special/index.html Looks like Coconna and Vanilla got married... and some new guy that sort of has similarities with Chirico.

Over at Ngee Khiong there is a preview image of MG Unicorn Gundam OVA Ver. and immediately this caught my eye... Apart from that, there doesn't seem to be that much of a difference, maybe the V-crest looks slightly different.

Bandai has already listed MG Unicorn Gundam OVA Ver. There will be special and standard box variants sold. Anyway here are my predictions for 2010... MG: - V2 Gundam - Banshee (black Unicorn) - Gundam 00, and later super pursuit... Trans-Am mode - more GMs using 2.0 frame - last quarter of 2010 I expect Stark Jegen and Geara Zulu - at least one new 2.0 MG, my tip would fall on NT-1 Alex - and as a surprise release RX-78-7 the one from that 0081 game PG, pessimistic on this line and the neglect for UC MS will probably continue: - re-colour Astray, probably Gold Frame instead of blue (just to be different from MG line) - re-colour Gundam 00 => Trans-Am mode - Exia Gundam, considering base material is already provided by Gundam 00 Ghost Train I hope your gut feeling for Nu Gundam comes true, because I'd love to see this. Although I'm not sure I really want to get this nowadays as the MG scale seems to be the better one for me.

I'm a battroid fan, so my wants and wishes are purely based on this aspect Easy ones: - SIDE COVERS!!! - neck cover - DYRL fixed posed fists - new fast/strike pack arm pieces that are shorter and allow for better movement when the valkyrie is using all four missile hard-points Hard ones: - a new alternate fuselage piece for battroid mode incorporating the following: -- a waist joint like the 1/48 valks -- more detailed cockpit that either rotates or is already vertically positioned -- slideable cockpit seat - add a new chestplate with a cut-out in the middle that can be removed and swapped with a clear piece, so the new detailed fuselage/cockpit can be seen Yamato can gladly omit the front landing gear, and use the extra space for the above mentioned.

It's classic MW: When something goes wrong in Macross, it's got to be either Gundam, Bandai or HG fault!!!

Great news, as I really enjoyed Code Geass. Wonder if it's going to be a "Season 3" continuation or a remake of the story with new twists and tweaks?

What Current Anime Series Are You Watching? v2.0
lechuck replied to Duke Togo's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Well I finished watching all of Armored Trooper Votoms universe that is available - yes Mellowlink too - this last weekend. I even made it a point to watch the TV, OVAs and movies in chronological order. All I can say is... WOW! This is a masterpiece for the real robot genre, in fact Macross feels very corny compared to Votoms as though the parody status was never dropped. All that is left for me to watch now is Heretic Saint and the newly announced OVA. There doesn't seem to be a fansubbing group that has done Heretic Saint is there...? -
Well I've got the MG Gundam Unicorn and overall I think Bandai did an OK job with the two modes and transformation between them. Like everybody else I'm a bit disappointed about lack of articulation, but more annoying for me are that several bits and pieces in NT-D mode don't really properly klick and lock-in. The other thing I noticed, is a slight off balance in proportions between arm length and legs in NT-D mode and the somewhat small-ish head. So again, I do think Bandai gave us a workable representation of the Gundam Unicorn, but at the same time I wish for a MG NT-D mode only Unicorn like HGUC to eliminate most of the problems I mentioned above.

watch and learn... Daigo vs Justin Wong -
Alright, I had to completely disassemble the body just to get these two parts. I originally missed the step where the upper piece has to be turned 180 degrees.
-
Yeah I started having a suspicion that I might have built it wrong. Thanks for the hint, I'll look into it now.

Alright, for fun I wanted to transform my MG Gundam Unicorn from NT-D back to standard mode. I have got everything done, but for the life of me I can't seem to get the torso/stomach area to collapse!? No matter how much force I have used, I still have a slight gap between the two pieces. Anybody with some advice, is there a trick to this?

Why have we adopted a second thread for this toy!!! I already opened one over the weekend. All it needs is its title to be updated.
-
Sure you can have your 2.0 Guncannon AFTER they have done - Nu Gundam 2.0 - V2 Gundam - Xi Gundam - Penelope Gundam - Gundam Mk.III - NT-1 Alex 2.0 - GP01/02/03 2.0 - Double Zeta 2.0 - Sazabi 2.0 - Jegan - Geara Doga - Marasai - Gaplant Anything but OYW stuff!!!
-
Are we following the same thread? The majority of post have been nothing but the following - hate on the supposed size/scale - hate on the materials mix-up (metal/plastic) used - hate on the price, which hasn't been confirmed - hate that it is a VF-1 again That doesn't really equate to speculation to me.
-
I was looking at that and I'm not sure if the head really has the sunken placement. Either Bandai "cheats" by not making the chest plate move down or somebody didn't quite assemble/transform the prototype correctly. Personally I'm going with the latter, because there are certain signs pointing to this. - the clear plastic piece looks to have a slight indentation at the top end, which the chestplate could slide over - the top edge alignment between chestplate and main backplate is wrong, also making the shoulders look like they are hanging low Some other observations: - VF-1 will have landing gears, be it integral or part swap - hands will have to be added/removed between transformations - elbows look like they are double jointed - modern version of side-bars instead of t-bar - legs look like they have two swivel joints, above the knees and directly below the intakes - nosecone also seems to have a swivel joint - canopy/heatshield will have to be swapped - thruster pack behind backplate sits higher compared to Yamatos My verdict so far: Can match Yamato's sculpt accuracy, but looks to be better in the articulation department
-
Yeah, I think that's what I saw.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a new fighter (excuse pun) entering the ring. No real info here, could also be model instead of a toy. Mods, when more info is available I'll leave it up to you to straighten thread title or to move it to the model section.
-
There is a couple of possibilities here: - a 1/72 scale line, popular with modelers but absolutely not covered by Gundam - a line for all the space-/battleships - and maybe a line for all the mobile armors In other news, MG GN-X has been announced as well as a 1/48 RX-78-2 Gundam which equates to a whopping 37.5cm in height! For pics look here -> Ngee Khiong While I am OK with the mix-up Bandai does in MG line, I am also a bit annoyed at this latest release. GN-X has been in existence for what, 2 years? And it's getting a release already. The Jegan and Doga have existed since '88 and still nothing! I'm getting to the point where I think MG line has to split and have something separate like MGUC and MG. As for the 1/48 Gundam, wow, but it's RX-78 so I'm not really interested. I'm still waiting for my PG RX-93 Nu Gundam Bandai!!! I could swear I saw a pic of the Metal Fix Gundam 0 last week somewhere. So I don't think they have dropped it.

I have always presumed that the low sales rate of the AB and most of the other (non-)canon variants later on was down to fact of being yet-again another A-head Valkyrie. I think there was like exactly 3 variants with S-head, 5-6(?) J-heads and gazillion A-heads with the 1/48 line.
