Justice League Unlimited
Golden Arms replied to lt.actionjackson's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah you brought up some pretty good points. I always forget the all important money trail. Thats why there are so many sequels in todays film market. No one wants to take risk. Vertigo is going to release a Y The last man Film, and there is talk of Vaughn's other Vertigo book(Ex Machina) being made into a film as well. Superman was a complete dud in my opinion. What a waste of 2 hrs. Marvel will have FF2 ( and probably FF3 ) Spiderman 3 and possibly 4 Iron Man Hulk 2 Ghost Rider which has been a success There has been talk of Cap America and Deathlocke(highly doubful) Wolverine -
Great Custom. Love the paint job.

Yeah Joss Whedon had be trying to direct the WW film, but his name was recently dropped from the project. He couldn't agree on a script. WB owns detective comics so they could bankroll a live action film if they wanted to. Why they haven't released more films of the DC characters is beyond me especially considering that these films are extremely well recieved by the general public. -

I think they should stay away from the big 2 (Bats ans Sups) for a JLA movie. They have a tremendous opportunity to really play with DC's stable of heroes. I also think setting the film in the past could be a cool idea. Maybe a WWII setting with Wonderwoman leaving Paradise Island and Helping the original JSA fight off the Nazi's or a big bad which decimates the JSA. The movie could then transistion into the present day with a New JLA being formed with some of the surviving JSA serving as mentors. They could even play with the Crisis on Infinite Earth's storyline(possible sequel) Where the JLA has to fight other versions of themselves or other heroes from alternate realities. I'd love to see an Earth 2 superman (An older version of the Character, not the Metrosexual Superboy Prime we got from Bryan Singer) My cast would be: Wonder Woman she'd be tough to cast Jay Garrick Flash--mentor role (He could bite the bullet and a new flash replaces him--Wally West or Barry Allen) Ted Kord-- Blue Beetle he'd replace batman not being in the film Green Lantern--Original GL passes the torch to a new Lantern Hal Jordan or John Stewart Green Arrow Super Girl or Power Girl NightWing Aquaman- I mean Vince from HBO's Enterouge Other Hero or Villain Possibilities: Black Canary Martian Manhunter Mr. Terrific Captain Marvel WildCat--He could teach the JLA combat Vandal Savage or Black ADAM--WWII era Villian Doomsday--U.S. govt doesn't trust the JLA and creates Doomsday as a countermeasure Darkseid Amanda Waller Deathstroke Booster Gold -

Some of comics best thought of stories have had some political commentary involved. Its nothing new. Besides, this was an industry that was nearly destroyed in the 40's and 50's because politicians thought it was UnAmerican and dangerous to read comics. Millar actually did a 180 with the stories conclusion if you prescribe to the notion that he was injecting his own political views. The registration side won. I think the point he was partially trying to make is that sometimes democracies work and people get what they want. Even if what they want is bad or terrible policy. The Nazi's were elected as was Nixon. Sometimes you don't know what you are getting until its too late. Much like what happened in this country after 9-11 which lead to the Iraq war. Caps failing was that he didn't see this until the end. Tony saw that the people didn't trust the Heroes and came up with a better plan than Cap. My big complaint with Civil War was the premise, the ending, and how out of character many of the participants were.- 567 replies

Those are great. Part of by big problem with civil War is how do you justify any legitimate threats in the MU. They've essentially created 50 plus superpowered teams in the US alone, with endless resources. What makes any villian or group of villians credible is the notion that they seemingly have the upper hand at some point over the Hero. With Civil Wars conclusion that premise has now been totally eradicated. Another problem I had with it was the resistance's rationale. Did Cap and the others seriously think that by beating up Iron man and his cronies that they would actually change the Law. Civil War should have been fought in a courtroom not in the streets. Millar made all of the heroes into a bunch of moronic simpletons. Marvel what a bunch of cluster F@$%*. Well I can't wait for WW3 in DC.- 567 replies

What Dante said. I'd also like to see a camo or low vis scheme of some sort.

I just finished Civil War # 7. What a drag. The book was too anticlimatic. I think this series failed overall. Marvel wimped out and kept the status quo. Though the end gives them the potential to tell some interesting stories. This has been the 2nd big story(House of M) in a row that I think Marvel dropped the ball. Thank god DC is telling some good stories right now. Books I'm curently reading: X-men, Uncanny X-men, Astonishing X-men, Ms Marvel, New Excalibur, All star Superman, GITS, JSA, JLA, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Action Comics, Teen Titans, Checkmate, 52, New Universal, Silent War, Captain America, Superman. The Dark Tower, X-Factor, Justice.- 567 replies

The Fastpack set was cheaper than I thought it was going to be. With HLJ's discount it comes out to $38. Do we know yet if Graham was sucessful in convincing Yamato to include the extra armaments as a part of the set?

My concern for the RA until F4V posted those pics was whether or not the 0's current shoulders would be able to support the shoulder mounted missile pods. Though of course the RA would require an additional purchase of a new (hopefully) tighter 0S. Mine is looser than Paris Hilton's legs.

I agree. I love your Armored VF-0S. I have the same cabinet BTW. -
Me Too. I think alot of the complaints are now bordering on the absurd. Are there legitimate concerns, sure but I've yet to encounter an perfect toy and and perfect manufacturer. Most of the knocks againsty the 19 are easily fixable by your average modeller. Just my .02.

Yeah that was a great line. I loved his delivery and the look that he gave to Helo. Tigh might not have had any love for the Sagitarons, but I don't think that he would've sanctioned them being exterminated like roaches. It seems that his big hangup with them was that they refused to aid in the insurrection on New Caprica and in any of the armed conflicts. Towards the end of the episode he mentioned that he might have been wrong in his views. -

Very good episode. It had alot of the elements that were lacking in the some of the previous episodes( Intercrew interaction, exposition on the fleets inhabitants). I loved the altercation between Tigh and Helo. Tigh is such a badass. -
God those look terrible. Frenzy looks like a kit bash between the terminator and a ginsu knife. Megatron has no nose. How in the hell do they expect the average movie goer to pick up all of those minute details in a darkened movie theatre on screen? Part of my problem with the designs is that their faces won't be able to depict any emotion or character from the characters. The voice actors better do one hell of a job.

1) Can they make VF-0S replacement parts available-- since it is no longer in production? 2) We want Max & Milia 1/48 Super rereleases 3) Can they give the yF-19 non Canon schemes or max aned Milia/ other color variations-- ditto with the VF-0S and Vf-0A 4) Will they reconsider there stance on 1/48 two seaters especially the vf-1D and Super ostrich 5) Can they stop printing Skull logos on the tailfins of non Canon releases. 6) Can they make a 1/60 VF-0D or vf-0B? 7) Could you suggest a contest where fans are allowed to vote or suggest a possible non Canon scheme for a future release. Hire Tenjin Hidetaka to design their box Art

Drifand who makes the Iron Gear that you posted above? I remember owing a Iron gear when I was a kid. When it was in battleship mode it had two spring loaded missles that would fire from what what become the feet. I just ordered the Spec eva, and I preordered the Aoshima weathered Getter one.

Nice pics and great collection BTW. I recently have gotten back to the SOC line as well. I just recieved GX-27 Gaiking. In the last few months I've bought the Aoshima Black Getter one, and the SOC Getter dragun. Deckard where did you get the Mazinger TV series from? I'd love to go back and see some of those old cartoons.
