Yeah I feel you on that. I did pickup the SDCC Thor from the hasbro toyshop. I'd like to get the DCU and voltron subs. I'd also like to pick up the toys r us exclusive rodimus prime. But I may have to limit myself to only one.

Yes Good points. Its better for retailers like HLJ to offer discounts rather than have tons of unsold stock occupying precious warehouse space. The macross toys aren't the only lines that they've been discounting. They've been having sales on a lot of different toys/models for the past year and half.
-
Not all of the recent Yamato's have seen the huge discounts. The 1/60 Max Vf-1s, 1/60 TV VF-1S, and elintseeker are just a few that haven't shown up later as discounts. They sold, and haven't really been seen since. The toys that are getting 40-60% dicounts are based on molds that they've made plenty off (1/60 vf-1 and vf-22). It's really difficult to guage what will be available a year from now. I wouldn't be shcoked if the fire valk had a smaller production run because I'm sure there is a fair amount of retooling that will be necessary for the other 19 toys in the Mac7 line. I think the only reason that Bandai and Yamato have been able to release improved toys later is because the initial release of their toys have sold well. If they tanked, there would be no justifiction to produce second runs or improved toys. It sucks that Bandai had to make a V2 to finally incorporate a lot of the changes that should've been in its initial toy release but atleast they are getting it right this second go around. Toy manufactures learn and get better over time. Yamato is case in point. This had been said many a time on this board, but I think it bears repeating every once in a while. Toy collecting in general is horrble hobby to be in, if you are expecting monetary returns on your investments. Stocks are a much safer bet. Very few collectibles made today hold any value over time. Everything is mass produced and aimed at collectors, so nothing has any sustained value. Only buy what you most enjoy.

I went by Target today and they had loads of new stuff. I saw the new GI Joe skystriker, Ulitmate Optimus Prime, New Star Wars collection Packs, Assassins Creed Fgures, and the new Young Justice Figures 4 inch and 6 inch. Matty Collector is having a sale on Monday for their exclusives figures.

Damn, I may have to pick up the Hasbro hot rod. It seems like they fixed a lot of the faults with the Takara version. It still doesn't look as nice, but I would either display him a car or rodimus prime.

Ditto what Ignacio said. I already had the squad in the 1/48 scale, and when the 1/60 v2's came out I decided to get the Tv versions of the vermillion squad. I'm now leaning towards getting the Max and Kakizaki dyrl versions to complete the dyrl squad.

It should come with a stand. The YF-29 came with one. It will probably also have paint scrapping issues as well. Bandai hasn't seemed to figure this one out yet. Study the transformation vids to become familiar with the potential problem areas. The areas near the head in fighter mode will probably some of the most prone to scrapping. Actar-- I have v1 1/60 yamato's that I've had in storage for years, out of direct sunlight, and they have started to yellow as well. I hate all white toys for this reason. I bet in a year the v1 frontier toys will show major yellowing. My V1 vf-25 shows some signs of slight discoloring on the shield, the rear legs and hip pieces that sit near the front intakes.

Nice collection of Joke machines. I'm still kicking myself for giving those away when I was a kid.

The only person that I know that has seen the Harry Potter movies was in a similar situation. His wife read the books, and she dragged him and her parents to see them. But he told me that they all liked them. I did read two of the chronicels of Narnia books as a kid, but had no desire to see the films. I think LOTR ruined those types of films for me. I read the books and saw the films. But I have no desire to see them or any similar types of movies again. -
Any other "Thing" fans out there?

You should see Wicked City. Actually don't see it. That was one creepy anime. I need to purchase the original thing on DVD. My favorite JC film. -

Your not the only one. I haven't seen any of the Harry Potter films. I can't stand it or the silly books. I know very few people that have seen them. It may be an age thing though, It's too kiddie for me. I have seen DOTM twice. -
I'll check this out once it's released. Two stars from the Wolverine Origins film. I've been reading Warlord of Mars and Deja Thoris. BTW, why is Deja Thoris wearing so many clothes? :P Lynne Collins is Deja Thoris BTW. I'm sure Tars Tarkas will be in the film. I wonder who will do his voice.

I think you make some really good points about the "Alieness" of the bots. It really speaks of human imagination or lack there of. We are so incapable of imagining anythink unlike ourselves.

Well, we are getting the Smurfs up next. I was kinda hoping for the Get along gang, pound puppies, snorks, Munchicheeks(SP?), The littles or any other lame 80's cartoon.

I'm a sticker fanatic, so I clean my toys before stickering. Much better adhesion to surface. The only surfaces on the Yamato toys I've consistently had issues over the years has been the 1/48 fastpacks. The reactor bombs, leg attachments and booster portions don't like the yammie stickers. But these surfaces seem grainer than the valks main bodies.
-
I've used it to clean all my yamato toys before stickering and have yet to see a problem with it. I've been using rubbing acohol and ocassionally peroxide for years. We should caution that not all plastics are made the same. Don't forget clear nail polish to tighten loose joints.

Except in China. It has yet to be released there. When it is, I'm sure it will be heavily edited. -

280Z, another nice car. I've always wanted one of those. Nice custom. I really like the car shows that have all types/years featured. Great way to bring different enthusiast together. -
Ditto on the blush brushes. I use them to dust my toys.

I saw Matty is having a sale this Friday. I really wish they would put more DCUC up for sale. The last three waves have been really hard to find in my area. I finally saw the Robin from the Bane wave at TRU, and it looked like Heath Ledger Joker took a scapel to his face. The retailers in my area are getting restocks of the older Marvel universe figs.
