  1. I saw the film tonight and agree with all of the complaints. The director/editor is horrible. It seems that a lot of the film was left on the cutting room floor. Way too story happened in way too little amount of time. The other GL's were pretty useless. Sinestro was the only thing that was done right with this film.
  2. If you want to learn about Green lantern, I highly recommend Geoff Johns run on GL. Probably the best superhero comic over the past 4 years. Geoff Johns has been on a tear over the past six years. Also recommend his Infinite crisis. No other current writer, is better than the larger than life intergalactic storytelling.
  3. He dropped the deadpool role for GL. When I heard that he was doing GL I was excited. But the more I saw of the trailers and the teasers, the less I wanted to see the film. I can't stand the way Tomar Re and Kilowog look. I don't care for the way the GL costume looks either, and don't get me started on Parallax(WTF). At least the Batman films have been great.
  4. Polaris would be cool. I'd like to see Psylocke, and Karma. Dazzler could really work in the current time period. The film makers have been pretty good about choosing characters that don't share too many similar powers, so Polaris and Psylocke may not be good choices. I think with what they did with Sebastian Shaw, it makes it very difficult for them to have Mr Sinister or Apocalypse as future villians.
  5. I don't think so. I think most people would understand. I think my only minor grip is that when you think about the mutants being metaphors for minorities/gays and lesbians, etc. in all of the films most of the mutants look like extras from an Ambercrombie and Fitch ad. I.e. pretty and glamorous. I wished they would've explored the mutant character that is so visibly an mutant and not necessary attractive in any light. They did this with the Morlocks in the comics.
  6. I never said the film was perfect. It's very flawed like many a blockbuster in many aspects. X-men 1 shows Beast in Human form on the TV. Some of these things, you have to kinda let them go. Just a good summer movie. The time period is a homage to x-men's comic release in 1963. One characters death is also kinda a homgae to one of the recent comics. Much like the movie, they died in their 1st mission. I've started to think of comic book movies in same vein as the Marvel ultimates universe. As a person of color I wasn't offended by the uses/decisions of Darwin and Angel. I thik that there should've been a scene or 2 to really give the viewer a feel of what it must've been like to be a minority at that time period. Shaw really played on that, and I think it's what makes his arguement compelling. But I don't think that today's younger audience really appreciates the racial/ sexual tension of the movies time period. It's really essential for the premise to work. Mystique isn't a good example against this because her character could choose to look like anyone she wanted to. All of the main characters even mystique could easily 'fit' if they chose too.
  7. I saw the film last night at the Alamo Drafthouse and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm a huge x-men fan, and I was reticent about seeing the film. But once I heard some of the positive reviews I decided to give it a chance. I'm glad that I did. The movie isn't flawless, but it's an enjoyable summer flick. Which is all you can expect for a summer release now a days. I really enjoyed the action pieces and magento. This is the best depiction of the mutants powers in all of the x-men films with the exception of the beginning of X2. Bryan Singer isn't rebooting the X-franchise. The movie is a prequel to X-mmen 1 and 2. He's stated that First class ignores Wolverine origins and X3 thankflully.
  8. In regards to the non-existent toy line. Fox has the film rights to the x franchise. Marvel owns most of their other hollywood properties so its easier for them to have toys and other merchadise made. Though Hasbro did release a 3.75 inch line for Wolverine. Hasbro had a few figures (Jean Grey, cyclops, beast,Juggernaut, Wolvie)from X3 in their Marvel legends line. I can't wait for the marvel legends line to be rereleased in 2012. Most movie line toys such anywany. I look at the Thor and Green Lantern lines and ponder who are these toys marketed to. Most collectors are only going to purchase comic styled characters.
  9. Recieved my vf-19 today and transformed it for the first time. Thanks for the video VF5SS, very helpful. I have to say that this toy is pure perfection. Yamato really did pour alot of love into this release because it really shows. I wish that they go back and rerelease the Y-19, because Isamu definately demands a fighter as awesome as Basara's. I haven't watched a ton of Mac 7, is there a resource that shows where alot of the stickers shoudl go? I'm really anal about putting stickers on my toys and would like to see a diagram. Once again, great Job Yamato!!! Their best toy to date.
  10. Saw Thor friday in 3D. Liked the film, but it felt like something was missing. Too much of the film was given away in the trailers, and there were very little to no suprises.
  11. I've yet to see wheelJack in any of the stores. I've seen all of the others between Target, Wal Mart and Toys R US.
  12. Just watched the 1st two episodes of the X-men anime and liked them both. Mostly setup, but the story seems interesting.
  13. Do any of you guys have project cars? I'm currently working on a 1970 Mustang, and was able to finally get the ignition system to work (The engine was missing a ground). Next steps are a rebuild of the tranny and getting all of the lights to work. Can't wait to see fast five, but the timeline doesn't make sense to me. Han died in the third film, and he's in this latest one.
  14. The Trailer makes it seem that the Thundercats are from earth. Did anyone else get that impression from the opening dialog as well?
  15. With this sale I was able to snag Max and Milia's vf-22's and two 1/60 Cf's.
  16. I've seen quite a few of these figs at Target. The Wal Mart closest to my house had the rodimus cyclonus 2 pack several days ago. The Target that I see most of these figs also had several 2 packs, and Wreckgar, prime, the new Bumblebee, Jazz and perceptor.
  17. The spidey costume is one of the easiest comic costumes to do in a film. How in the hell did they F$#@! it up so badly?
  18. Count me in. The wave model doesn't do the design any justice.
  19. Thanks for all the cool pics guys. I can't wait for mine to arrive. How tall is rodimus next to Prime?
  20. I was kicking myself for passing on the christmas sale, but I think I will have to bite the bullet this time around. The vf-22 looks too tempting.
  21. Awesome custom Mav. More Pics please!!!
  22. I guess I'm in the minority. I'm a sticker Guy. I have no plans to sale any of the things I collect, and I think valks look better with more detail to them. I'm pretty anal about stickering up my toys, and it usually takes me several hours to put them all on. I clean the toys first with alcohol, and trim away all the excess on the stickers. They look so much better that way.
  23. Don't quote me on this, but I think 1970 was the last year of the Boss 302. They had a boss 428 and Boss 351 but not the 302. 71-73 was the last years of the Boss 351's. I'll have to double check one of my pony books. I really wish they would come out with a big block, but one can dream. The Boss is one of the most craved car's from the Mustang lineup. The Shelbys, and Mach 1's had replaced it as Ford's production performance Stang.
  24. I can't wait to see what the new Boss will be like. If I hadn't spent all my money on a Fastback, I would've continued to save for one of the 5.0's.
  25. I picked up HA Jazz today at one of my local targets. They had a ton of other TF related toys. They also had the HA bumblebee with the repainted Sam (white T-shirt). I may have to go back and get the War for cybertron Bumblebee and Thrust.
