During Lunch, I caved in and bought HA skids. I can't wait to display him with HA bumblebee and my Alternators.

I saw HA skids as well during my lunch break at Wal Mart.

You did see that the VF-11C isn't merely a simple repaint right??? Different gunpod, boosters, etc. Those are new molds for those pieces. And even if it was a repaint as you claim, all manufactures do them, or they wouldn't be able to offer us those other toys that we crave. Last time I checked the VF-11 was one of the more trouble free releases from Yamato. There were very few complaints, about it. Most of them dealt with how to properly transform the shield over the cockpit. We did get competition in the Macross arena, and look at the craptastic DX line. Just because you get competition doesn't automatically mean the other guy can do it any better. Bandai is still using clip on pieces for armament hard points. And don't get me started on the short bus landing gear.

Seriously: Why don't any of YK's other soundtracks sound as br
Golden Arms replied to isamu's topic in Movies and TV Series
As Much as I like her Mac + work, I think I like her combined work with the GITS soundtracks even more. I thought she showed more range with the GITS and Cowboy Bebop soundtracks. -
How the Heck does Isamu get more votes than Roy? Some members need to be drug tested.

Poll - which 1/60 VF would you like to see next from Yamato?
Golden Arms replied to Graham's topic in Toys
Well opinions are like A Holes. They all stink. Besides, I think the 2ss is a bland design anyway. The VF2ss looks completely out of place, when compared to all of the variable fighters in the Macross Universe. The other fighters for the most part follow some linear design logic when contrasted with each other. The VF-4 looks good only in fighter mode, So I think it would be a waste of a possible toy, if we had to choose between several different designs. -

VF-0D, then the vf-17. The VF2SS is too gundum for my taste. Plus it's so far removed from Kawamori's designs it would look out of place next to the other Yamato Macross offerings. -
OMFG!!!!! I gotta preorder those once they come out. Plz Yamato, release them at different times. At least a month between them.

It's a stand alone movie. Most of the TV series is filler arc material that doesn't happen in the manga. They needed more material for TV/movies purposes, so they created all of these tangent storylines. The Bount arch is a prime example. It doesn't take place in the comics.

Nice pics. I can't wait for mine to arrive.

Technology that you have bought that went nowhere...
Golden Arms replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Ditto on the Sega Dreamcast. I still have it along with about 12 or so games. -
I just picked up the HA Bumblebee and I'm glad that I did. Awesome figure, especially after you make the leg mod. I may have to add sideswipe soon. Does anyone know when the HA Barricade is supposed to be released?

KiriK, Awesome Room!!!! Where did you get the wall shelves from? I've been planning to buy some as well. I saw some nice ones on Danny Choo's website a few weeks ago and wanted to see where he purchased his from.

Machete starring Danny Trejo, Deniro, Seagal, Alba, etc!
Golden Arms replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I gotta find out where in town they are shooting this film. I'd be awesome the see Jessica Alba in person. Nicholas Cage was Fu Man Chu. -
I think part of the real reason why the Beagles didn't take off is becasue Mospeada wasn't very popular in Japan, and decades later it is still thought of in the same light. Mospeada is/was a much smaller niche than macross. Which would necessitate a smaller production run of any merchandise. The price of a toy from such an unpopular franchise might have been too much to ask at a time when the economy is in the toilet.

I hear ya. I bought my first house this March, with the intent of displaying all of toys (which is quite abit btw) and most of them are either in my garage, or in my closet still in their boxes or storage containers. My favorites are in my glass cabinets or book shelves. It is really hard to decide which ones get displayed and which ones get stored, because you always end up with toys that are worthy of display but are in the closet. I plan to get 2 more ikea glass cabints in the near future.

Less is more when displaying collections. As collectors we want to dispaly every single item we own, but what you end up with is a cluttered display. It's really hard for any viewer to really home in on or concentrate on any pieces you own because there is too much sensory overload. I would try to devote one or two items per shelf (For larger toys). All of the left over toys would go in the closet. Then you could swap items out every few weeks. This way all of your toys get displayed, and they would each get the attention they deserve when you have visitors marvelling at your collection. I'm trying to do this with my collection currently. Awesome collection BTW. I wish I had as many cabinet as you.

I saw the movie last nite and it was awesome. Easily one of the best Trek Films to date. The casting choices were good, special effects good, and we were in uncharted waters with the adventure. The best of the summer films already. Hopefully JJ Abrams is signed on to do another Trek film.

Saw it last nite it was okay. I agree with Duke, the original MCP story wouldv'e been awesome. The studio went with an amalgamation of the Origin and ultimates version story. Ryan reynolds was awesome as DP, he shouldv'e been given more to do. They should reset the franchise if they decide to keep pumping out X movies, but I think they are do with the series. The last 2 were mediocre at best.

What he said. Another thing about the 1/60 is that they will be in scale with other macross series toys(Frontier, Plus, Zero) if you decide to start collecting those. Alot of the parts on the 1/60 lock together alot nicer than the 1/48 and the toy has a much better appearance overall than the 1/48, especially in fighter mode when the gunpod is attached. The arms don't drop, and there is more clearance between the ground and the gupod. The ver 1.0 of the 1/60 has detachable legs, that is one of the big noticeable differences between the 2.

Thanks Shin!!! I've tried to transform this darn thing for 2 nites in a row, and with your suggestion I get it under 2 minutes.

Does anyone have have problems transforming the Hikaru VF-1s? I currently have it in battroid mode and can't get the leg swing bar out of the fuselage. Its really tight. I even tried the rotating the legs forward technique that collection dx did in their review of the Hikaru vf-1A. I haven't encountered this problem with my other v2 1/60's (4). I'm afraid that I will break it trying to transform the darn thing back to fighter mode.

Congrats on the kid. I'm kinda in the same situation. I just purchased my 1st house and have been agonizing over which boxes to keep and which ones to purge. I've spent the last 2 weeks moving most of my large toy and comic book collection into the new house and when I saw most of the stuff boxed in the loft I was horrified. All of the boxes and storage tubs took up half of the bare loft. I think you should fold most of the large boxes you can, and purchase some of those 35-46 gallon storage containers. I put alot of my toys in them and I plan to fold most of the 1/48 boxes. You should be able to stack the toys in the plastic trays several deep in the storage tubs. I threw away most of my v1 1/60 and 1/72 toy boxes. The only ones of these I keep were the mint ones and some of the fast pack ones. Once you start purging some boxes it becomes easier to do. You should also consider getting a small storage unit off site if your finances permit. I think this would appease both you and the wife and you would have a place to just dump stuff without thinking about whether or not you need to keep everything or condense. D Unit your toy room is to die for. Awesome displays. Very clean and great use of the space you have. I love all of your cabinets.
