  1. I'd rather get the 3-D printed Cruiser mode on Thingiverse, $140 worth of filament, wiring my own speakers and lights, then put that much money in HG's pockets.
  2. The original maker got back to me on how much filament to expect to use. SO, yeah my earlier estimate was about correct, 5kg or so at this scale. Assuming $20 average per roll, you are looking at $100 worth of materials. But figure on actually needing 7 rolls of filament, so $140. Still better than that HG Speaker version.

  4. I asked the guy who posted it how much filament it took, he has not responded yet. I'm going to guess at least 5kg of filament depending on how thick you print the shell.
  5. Just spotted this on thingiverse, will definitely download for a future print. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2649822 Simply awesome, and scaled to 1m, or 1:1200ish scale. I will see how well it prints at a smaller scale, but dang....
  6. Been a while since I saw this thread, still amazes me.
  7. Looks like my computer won't take the Windows 10 upgrade. Three tries and the same result each time. I get to 30% install after reboot, then another reboot and a message that the system will revert to the last version of windows. Any ideas?
  8. Nice
  9. Wow, this actually makes my old Comico Robotech comics look good by comparison. Also, why is a fighter pilot on the ship in the middle of a battle and jumping into the cockpit of a Destroid that he is not qualified on? More than that, how is it that everyone knows who he is by sight at this point? That being said, I do like the extra missile launchers on the destroid. THen again, why would Gloval leave the bridge of his ship in the middle of a battle?
  10. One week left in the Kindle Scout Campaign. Please head over, vote and share. https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/2J0RFLMDGLPB1 Plus the results my latest 3D printing Experiments. A 1:60 Scale Splicer-5000. It even includes a full cockpit (working on canopies now) I just need to clean them up and find some 1:60 scale pilots. Really makes me wish I still had my old valkyries.
  11. At that scale I would expect an articulated pilot figure.
  12. #ArmageddonsPall has launched on #kindlescout head over, share, and vote now. Let's get Spiral War some real recognition. https://kindlescout.amazon.com/p/2J0RFLMDGLPB1
  13. Second Print attempt for the Splicer-1000. I have learned enough from this to figure out how to print these once I get my own 3D Printer.
  14. Armageddon's Pall has been submitted to Kindle Scout. As soon as the campaign page is up I will post the link. I appreciate any all help you can muster to vote for the book. It will help my writing career greatly and get me the funds to start attending conventions again. Maybe I will even to get to attend MacrossWorldCon again next year thanks to this.
  15. The show's writing was so bad that even one of my five scenes fixes wouldn't work. It was Into Darkness bad.
  16. What are those funky looking boot things they are wearing? They kind of look like they have interface jacks or RCS thrusters. AS for preserving the fish, it would probably be frozen so will take a while to thaw out. Cutting pieces of it off would prove a challenge for sure.
  17. This is an issue with Trek that has always bothered me. Why send the two highest ranking officers on the ship on away missions, especially assault/capture missions? It make zero sense. At least TNG typically had away missions led by the second and first officers, with the captain only coming down as necessary. Also, the inability to lock back onto the captain was just moronic.
  18. My thoughts on the show. Call a spade a spade, it is a reboot. While there are some redeeming qualities to the show, it is bogged down by massive inconsistencies in the writing and designs. While many of the props are nice homages to TOS designs, and the new Batleth actually looks functional (it's naginata with extra blades) the ship designs fit no known trek era. The Klingon ships follow none of the traditional design cues and the Federations ships look like they belong post Next-Gen, with many having rectangular or hexagonal nacelle cross sections and saucers that do not fit the TOS or pre-TOS design ethos. Then there are serious writing issues. The characters make decisions that do not fit their character. A spacesuit that can propel the wearer in excess of 15000KPH with no side effects. Taking a capital ship to (maximum) 500 ft AGL and then teleporting personnel aboard. Full body holograms that interact with the environment. In short, a lot of sloppy writing, and tech issues that push it out of the timeframe it is supposed to take place in. Call a spade a spade, it's another reboot, and it's not off to a great start.
  19. What has me scratching my head, is why use a fan design for the VF-1 (Another deviantartist whose model was purchased by the comic artist for commercial usage) but still use all the other original designs?
  20. Thank you. And if you enjoy them please leave a review. It really helps sales. Thank you. Also, a friend at work loves to print anything he can on his new 3-D printer and made the following print for me (PLA). I did not optimize the model for 3-D printing so that is why a bunch of parts are missing. And, happy accident, it printed out at 1:60 scale. Now, I just wish I still had any of my old Yamato Valkyries, but they were old sold or lost in various moves, or to pay for stuff for my kids.
  21. The clearance sales will be just in time to buy Christmas presents.
  22. In preparation for submitting Book 4 to Kindle Scout, I will be running price promotions on Books 1-3 for the next week. Starting tomorrow, On Dagger's Wings will be free for five days, followed by a countdown deal on In Death's Shadow and Rising Warrior/Rising Threat. Head to Amazon and buy up your copies before Armageddon's Pall.
  23. Exactly @technoblue the publisher underwent serious changes this year and is collapsing in on itself. Unfortunately there were no direct contract violations so I couldn't get out of my contract. There were however multiple broken promises, reversion of certain rights, delays and other issues. So I bought out my contract, for not too much. Now I am doing what I can do get there on my own. Probably next week I'll be submitting Book 4, Armageddon's Pall, to Kindle Scout. I'd appreciate any and all support my fellow MWers can muster to help me win that contract as it is a pretty sweet deal for indie authors like myself.
