So the Veritech's are now based on the toys, and the artist keeps mixing them up their heads. LOL

The interior art has definitely improved, but it looks like they gave the old guy a cover as a farewell gift. I wonder if the VFs will look any better with the new artist. The Focker cover actually looks pretty cool.

I just started season 7, can't wait to see these valks. But if they are as cool as you say, to Hell with HG and Robotech, how about they work with BigWest on the next Macross series.

Like I said, it might be the angle, because the CG Images look like he intakes are large enough. Still not huge intakes, which makes me think this is a max 1.5Mach aircraft.
-
The animation style is a stepdown from Voltron IMHO. But we will really need to see it in motion. I like that they appear to have given She-Ra a proper breast plate, if fabric covered, but why not give her thigh armor, greaves and additional arm armor then?
-
Maybe it's just the angle on the mockup, but the intakes looks tiny, way too small to feed any substantial engine.

This comic is so bad, and the altered command structure illustrates why, they are following the Star Trek TOS command model. See, in good military fiction, the higher up in rank one gets, the harder it is for them to engage directly in military action, they have subordinates for that, it is called The Immobility of Rank/Power. Captains don't go on away missions, Admirals/Generals don't leave their flagships/bases/bunkers (except in rare cases). That is why, in good mil fiction, it is always such a big deal when a commander goes out on a mission. Even good mil sci-fi sometimes makes this mistake, but they find some way to justify this. That is one of the reasons why I always preferred TNG (early) as Picard rarely left the ship, Riker led away missions, but really, even he was too high in rank for that. This new, "edgier" "more woke" Robotech had Gloval do the stupidest thing ever, leave the bridge in the middle of a battle, just so they could kill him off. They then promoted Misa to Captain (despite there being many officers of higher rank then her already aboard) and still pull the TOS action of having her lead an away mission to get captured. I am going to bet, that they will have old TRE end up as the new captain at some point as a way to stop the "time loop" that they have written into the story, dumbest plot change ever. In almost all Macross the command staff rarely left the bridge during operations. When Misa requests to accompany the Cateyes mission, you can see the Captain and the rest protest, but her insistence wins the day. In DYRL the excuse for her to leave the ship is not as solid, but is believable, she is trying to stop a scandal, so is sent to retrieve Hikaru and Minmei. Millard in Mac+ is one of the best examples of an immobile commander, staying behind to cover the actions of his men, who ultimately save the day. In Mac7 Millia flying again is due to extreme circumstances, as is Max's getting back in the cockpit, though in his case, it's that he was to be the ace in the hole to beat the Varutta. Mac-F and Delta dealt with the immobility of command quite well too, the ship captains stayed at their posts and sent out their pilots to do the dirty work.

Except Max is in his VF-1A/J and Millia is punching and tearing it apart.

AMRAAMs can rail or drop launch, one of the few missiles that can.

These comics keep getting worse and worse. The Regis has been introduced, and Max and Millia Duel with swords. Then all the character art is clearly lifted from either bad DAZ3D models, or magazine scans.

It's on Thingiverse now, check the first post.

Neat little online game, but why did you texture the prometheus deck that way? It is a carrier, so should have a carrier deck.

Interesting, and yes the Airbrake is far too small. Plus the VF-1D does not have an airbrake there.

Solo: A Star Wars Story, in theaters May 25, 2018
Knight26 replied to Dobber's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
My review of Solo, I will spoiler tag the last half: Overall it was an enjoyable movie that hearkened back to Star Wars' roots. At it's core it was a space western, heist movie. It had all the trappings of a western placed in the Star Wars universe, and when you get down to it, isn't that what Star Wars always was; a mashup of Westerns, Buck Rogers and Samurai movies? Did this movie "play it safe"? Yes, you bet it did, but it gave fans what they wanted in terms of story, action, and set pieces. Will it upset some old school fan? Maybe, the rewrite of Han's back story differs from what was established in the EU, but not greatly so. Had they given Han more time in Imperial service, maybe another year, then I think it would have felt better. But the parallels to westerns are all over: Han is the bitter ex-union soldier wanting to go AWOL. Chewie is his Indian Warrior he rescues from bondage. Lando is the rich carpet bagger. The metaphors are there throughout the story, I mean there is a freaking train robbery and what could best be described as a wagon load of TNT at one point. Do I think it is a good addition to Star Wars lore? Yes. It has some great scenes, especially with Chewie and Lando. Was it something fans asked for? Maybe. Ultimately prequels are hard to write because fans already have their own theories and expectations. Why do I ultimately think it won't ultimately do as well? Studio interference and not knowing their audience. Spoilers ahead. That about covers my thoughts for now. Overall, I though the movie itself was fine. Unlike TLJ I did not come out with a bad taste in my mouth and a dozen things to fix in order to make it a good movie. Also, it is coming on the heels of Infinity War. That devastated so many fans. A bold marketing decision might have been for them to play up the lighter hearted aspects of Solo. "Depressed so many of your favorite characters died in Infinity War, then come see the origins of your favorite space smugglers in Solo and just enjoy yourself." -

I saw it with the boys today. We enjoyed it: Ocean's Eleven Meets Star Wars sums it up with plenty of easter eggs for fans. -
Looking at the pilot figure runners, it looks like it segInsert other media ments at all the major body joints. So how long before someone adds joints to make it into a poseable figure?

That the IASDF had the first combat sortie does not surprise me at all.

My biggest issue with this season of the Flash was that the solution to Devoe was staring them in the face; Sisko. Devoe never displays any breaching powers, and has only ever stolen powers from the bus metas. So why not send the bus metas to other Earths where they will be safe until they can defeat devoe? Especially the nuke guy, send him to super vampire world and let him blow it up, he gets to die a hero instead of living as a prisoner/science experiment the rest of his life. I wonder if next season of Arrow will give us a rework of the Suicide Squad storyline they were building up to, before DC forced them to shut it down for the movie version.

Interesting way to do pilot's face. But it means you can't do an open faced helmet. Cool nonetheless.

While I saw the ending of this season of Arrow coming, it was still a hell of a gut punch. But it was a good one. I look forward to whatever deal he makes with the feds to keep the series going.

[CN] New ThunderCats - ThunderCats ROAR!

Hard Pass!!! -
Interesting, I watch that show with my boys. I had never heard anything about this. This article doesn't say much, but it sounds like she was "bullied" and "assaulted" by people involved with the show. I now wonder what happened.
