  1. So we have an issue where BW still feels slighted by how Tatsunoko handled the Macross/Robotech license and they won't even come to the table to strike a deal to get it all back in house. Come on people. Makes sense for Tatsunoko. IF that is the case, what is the likelihood/possibility that they snuck some form of trapdoor outclause into the contract?
  2. So this brings up the question, where did they get the money to pay Tatsunoko? You can't tell me that BW/Bandai couldn't come up with a better offer.
  3. OK that is just spooky. But still, he was one of the few actors I could even close to respecting. He will be missed.
  4. Agreed, especially given that Valkyries, or Variable Fighters are not supposed to be based on magic tech, but be fairly realistic. Things like engines, reactors, cockpits, etc... have be kept intact. As opposed to something like Transformers where none of that matters or is taken into consideration.
  5. For all we know it could Sony of Japan ordering Sony Corp of America to clear things up, maybe even order them to outright acquire HG. I'm sure BW and Bandai would much rather work with the Sony's then HG.
  6. I predict, they will all end up merging at some point into "the only timeline that will survive" where everyone lives, the SDF-1 is fine and the Earth becomes an even bigger power then in the Macross sequels. But, Rick will marry Minmei, Lisa will marry Karl (if he lives), Roy and Claudia will get their happier ever after, Max will marry his wingman girl instead (assuming they don't find a way to turn Myria), etc... add nausea!!! (and yes I meant to write it that way)
  7. There are apparently multiple timelines and universes merging together, ugh.
  8. I like this idea, let's come up with some names that would still be recognizable as Macross, yet thumb their nose at HG. I'll get started. Nothing too insulting, just enough to poke the bear. SDF-MacroTech SDF-Robocross SDF-Goldcross SDF-Macrogold SDF-MacroHarmony Sorry not feeling the most creative today, but it got me laughing. Or heck just go back to the original working title: SDF-Megalord/Megaroad
  9. Exactly, until the signed contract is able to be examined, I have my doubts.
  10. Just how big is Tatsunoko? What is to prevent say, Bandai, from just buying them outright? I realize Big West and Studio Nue are not big enough. Also, what could HG really do if Bandai Visual, just said "to hell with it" and started releasing Macross sequels outside of Japan? It sounds like the language in the contract regarding the sequels is vague to say the least.
  11. Given the lack of actual 80s Supercars, from TV or otherwise, this looks like nothing more than an excuse of the Hoff to try and keep relevant.
  12. frakk YEAH!!! Maybe they will get it better than Bay's Pearl Harbor. Lots of awesome aviation action at least.
  13. I see only three good things in that trailer: #1 They are using guns again. Drew BaringMore's insistence that they not use guns in her movies was stupid, they were super cops, let them use guns. #2 Elizabeth Banks, need I say more. #3 Patrick Stewart, how much did they have to pay him to be in this steaming pile? Everything else, casting, acting, set pieces, music, utter crap.
  14. Just to watch the real TT kick TTGs butt I may watch this. I HATE TTG
  15. I am debating attending, I haven't been since MWCon 2005 IIRC.
  16. I am still on the fence regarding this service. Honestly one of the big draws for me is the animated library. Does include all the 90s to early 2000s: Batman TAS, Superman, Justice League, and JLU seasons? Also does it have all the current DCAU movies?
  17. WTF? This has gone so far off the rails I don't think they're even on land anymore.
  18. Guy at a show I was selling my books at had a vintage MIB Gakken 1:18 scale Mospeada Cyclone, the chunky one, asking $45 for it. Should I have grabbed it? This One: http://anymoon.com/blog/?p=1424 Looks like Anymoon says no, but it was MIB.
  19. I would so see that movie.
  20. I see that they are still quoting the angled seat fallacy. While the seat angle does help with G-Tolerance that is not why it is at that angle. It is at an angle because it otherwise would not have fit inside the canopy as designed, and angling the seat was the simplest, and cheapest, solution.
  21. While I like the Terminator series, it never should have been a series. The original Terminator was a perfect predestination time-loop. People think it ends on as downer, Judgement Day is coming, but forget that the whole reason the time travel occurs is because SkyNet lost. Timetravel was the last gamble to try and win, but also ensure that Skynet even existed. I have always thought that SkyNet knew its origins so was always going to send a terminator back. For Skynet sending back the terminator not only ensures its existance but gives it a chance to win by killing Sarah and unborn John Conner. What Skynet didn't know was about Kyle Reese, which the last couple of films have screwed the pooch on. Honestly, I am not looking forwards to this. Genisys was a serious letdown and Salvation had potential but got screwed by bad writing and directing.
  22. God, those look horrible and at 4.25" that is a weird scale, like 1:17 (for a 6' character) or larger.
