Macross 25th Anniversary and upcoming new TV series thread
Knight26 replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
My comments after seeing the promo: The VF-25 is an interesting design, my one gripe, that wierd green energy beam that comes to life during transformation, what is that all about? Also I think that the VF-25 may in fact not be the new mainline fighter, I think it may in fact be an advanced trainer, i.e. the trainees have moved up from the VT-1/11 or whatever and now are soloing in the VF-25. The story might then involve the VF-25s having to be moved to frontline duty due to losses incurred. The VF-17/171: I see this as a later model VF-17, or possibly heavily upgraded models that are filling in as the mainline fighter on this fleet for some reason. It could be that when this fleet launched a surplus of VF-17s were available, that General Galaxy then upgraded to the modern level including some VF-22 features. There are enough changes to the design for it to be a new model based on the same frame, perhaps they are even VF-17I's hmm VF-17s that the Isrealis got hold of and upgraded the snot out of, imagine the possibilities. VF-XX: I think that there is a good possibility that another new model VF will show up, possibly even something devised aboard the fleet to counter the new bad guys. Other VFs are a definite possiblity to show up, either as museum pieces, collectors items, etc... -
So nice man, I can't wait to see it finished, and alongside or attached to the rest of the giant project. And chin up MechTech, you will figure it out, if you let us in on the problem some of us might even be able to help.

Very nice, puklled it from the iron man trailer did you?

Very nice TV series style cockpit, must be down for maintenance however since there seems to be a lack of control sticks, lol. Seriously though, really nice work.

Here you go, the plane I work with pretty much every flight test: http://www.flyingmule.com/products/GJ-GMUSA025

From what I am hearing and reading it is mostly a problem with getting required parts from subcontractors, and some flight control software problems, but that is common with any fly by wire plane.

Very nice, I would have some more comments regarding some things I think you guys were a little off the mark about but my brain is starting to feel fluish again, so excuse me while I pass out.

Saw this a year or so ago, brought it everyones attention, unimpressed, looks like @$$

Very nice, I love it, and don't really see anywhere where it needs improvement, if you feel it is underdetailed and really don't have the time or inclination to fully detail it, then textures are a wonderful thing.

Sometimes you have to talk like A1 just to get the shock value to get people to listen. Anyway I think Phyrox got my point, as to why it might not be such a good idea at least IMHO. But then I am not one who cares much for tatoos, sure my wife has one, but it is something very symbolic and spiritual to her and is something that life, time, etc... will never change. I myself do not have a tatoo, I have never envisioned anything in my life that I felt I wanted or needed to have permanently adhered to my body, I've considered things: my wife's name/face, my son's name/face, but why when I can see them everyday? In my youth I once considered getting the Arashikage clan tatoo on my arm because I was a huge GI Joe fan at the time, I am very glad I didn't because if I did it would look quite silly now and would force me to wear long sleave shirts whenever I went to work or went to many of the activities I enjoy that require no visible tatoos. So, I realize it is too late to stop this, but for anyone else really think before going forth with such an endevour, think about not just your life now but in ten, fifteen, even twenty years and think, will I really want this on me in that time. Think about the career and life you want to lead, and think about how many times you really want to explain the image you've had permanently attached to your body, from the street to your job and everywhere in between. I know from experience that one promising young engineer I went to school with was passed over for a job for the simple reason that he had a visible tatoo on his arm at his job interview.

The cockpit alone will send many here drooling and possibly running to make 1/8 scale pilots to sit in it.
-
One question, why? Seriously do you have so little going on in your life that you are going to permanently emblazon symbology of an anime to your body?
-
I think that's from a command and conquer game, and I agree, nice design.

Iran's new super fighter, lol Iranian F-5 Knock Off Looks like a very slightly modified F-5 to me,...a 50 year old airplane design (the F-5 was designed by Northrop in the late '50s and entered production in the 60's). But, the thing I find most interesting it though is the line about "blinding their enemies eyes" makes me think that some rumors I heard a while back about Iran developing a blinding laser for their planes might be true. In which case any close in engagements could end badly for the other side.

Very nice, but hope the guy in the third seat, heck any of those seats doesn't want kids.

Now my question, who will the big baddie be?

Doesn't meant that they can't redesign the valks and give us *shudder* bayformer valks. *throws up imagining what that would look like* -
We need more pics and send cad models of your parts to yamato, we need to see this produced.

The X-31 was the first single engine aircraft to be fitted with paddle type thrust vectoring vanes, the first twin engine was a test F-18 used by DARPA. -
Aliens Vs. Predator 2 Script and Movie Review
Knight26 replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The thing that made the original Alien and Aliens such great movies IMHO is that they were different movies, they didn't try to rehash the same concept over and over again like the later ones did. ALien 3 tried to make it more like the original, all moody, dark and scary, but utterly failed in the execution. Alien was a completely flawed concept from the get go and tried to make itself more like Aliens, more action, less cerebral, just blowing away aliens left and right, and it stunk as a result. The original predator was cool again because it was new, an Alien hunting humans on earth, that works, and the Alien can give Arnold a run for his money, even better. Pred-2, sorry Danny Glover against Aliens, doesn't work for me as well, I kopt expecting Mel Gibson to run out with Joe Pesci right behind him. Don't get me wrong I like Pred-2 but it could have been better, it would have worked better, IMHO if they had done the reverse of the Alien-ALiens thing and went to a much darker more suspenseful movie in the second installment. As for AVP we all know what the fanboys wanted, Aliens, predators and Colonial Marines. Instead we got a fairly poorly plotted action movie that killed the established Alien canon in an attempt to tie the two franchises together on Earth. Why put it on Earth in the first place, why not use AVP to explain why no more Aliens were discovered prior to Alien 4, maybe have it show the last culling of the Aliens by the Predators, now that would have been cool. From what I have read and heard about this latest installment it sounds less like an ALiens or Predator movie and more like a teen slasher flick, with Aliens, Preds and Predaliens replacing Jason, Freddy, mike Myers, et al... What's next does robocop show up to defeat them just as another terminator comes to find John Conner hiding in the town, why not through them all together and ruin all four franchises? -
Even as a kid I thought it was a hokey movie, fun for a kid but definitely doesn't hold up and I could never watch it with the kids without wanting to cut my ears off due to Pee Wee's annoying voice. Give me Goonies any day, seriously as was stated the best kid movie ever.
