Actually quite the opposite, we have a large number of talented writers and artists on here, they just choose not to write fan fiction. Why you ask? Easy, fan fiction is not about being creative, fan fiction by its very nature is not creative, it is taking another persons work and adding your own story or spin to it. The majority of fan fiction simply relies on premade characters, settings, ships, universes, etc... then adds a new story to it. That is not true creativity, especially since most it, well it just stinks. I have read a fair amount of fan fiction and most of it falls into the following catagories: Fan boy wet dreams (ex: vader vs maul fight), fan boy sex dreams (ex: Misa and Minmay get drunk one night...), fan boy backlash (ex: vader's emo diary's), superships (ex: a reborn Kahn builds a 2000km long super mega ultra DY-15,000,000 to kill the federation), cross overs (ex: SW vs ST, et al), side stories aka this one time in an RPG (ex: a rebel gets caught behind enemy lines and must fight his way free). For the most part these are not well written but every once in a while a diamond in the rough comes out that is actually worth reading, if only because the writer doesn't take themselves or the subject too seriously and writes something funny. Of course I chalk a lot of EU type books up to this too, but at least in those cases the books are for the most part well written and include some new and interesting characters. Heck take say a Zahn SW book, change the character's names and it's no longer a SW book with a little revision, which makes it good.

Toynami Announces Masterpiece Cyclones at Toyfair
Knight26 replied to chowyunskinny's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
And remember these won't simply be repaints and head swaps like their last offering, these will require new parts, lancer's hubcaps/arm swords, and moreso with Rook's entire cyclone and body. -

Nice, but can we get some bigger pics, how does your custom look in other modes? -
How about another underrated and little known good anime They Were 11. Very good OVA IMHO and not well known, wish it would come out on DVD.

Someone on joecustoms, or was it goodtogo customized one of these as a what if batman beyond bat armor, it actually works for that I think, very sweet. Now we need revoltech to make a Q-Rau, Nos-Ger, Reguld, Glaug, rouge zent armor, etc...

Battlestar Galactica Discussion

Start petitioning Baen Books and Tor Books to publish me and get me published then I'll try and become a writer for the show, lol. -
I think that they are the best adaptations we could hope for out of a 40+ year old comic book franchise. Which many people seem to forget. This not a single book adaptation, this is something trying to cover 40 years of character history. For things like Superman and Batman it is even worse as they have been around since, what the 30s?

Battlestar Galactica Discussion
Knight26 replied to HoveringCheesecake's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
It definitely will throw people for a loop and will keep people guessing if I am right. Plus it would make sense if the majority of those mentioned were second generation, i.e. born to an Earth Parent and Colonial parent, but that the elder one is from Earth. That person either just forgot, do to heavy consumption of certain products, recieved a head injury that made them forget, or knows and is under orders not to say anything, but is guiding the fleet as best they can without raising suspiscion their way. Of course that person could be second gen, while the others are third gen, who knows, but someone needs to look either for a genetic tell in them, or a some microchip in their brains, lol. And, of course the reason they all come together is that the reveal at the end of the episode is sending a signal that activates them. Cryptic enough for those who didn't read the spoilers yet? -
The computer and electronics super geek superthread...
Knight26 replied to EXO's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I could put the 8800GTS (320MB) instead of the 640MB, but how will that not effect the performance. I was also considering hte 7950GT 520MB but that is up in the air right now -

I plan to buy the computer from "ibuypower.com" they are suppossed to be a really good company and all the reviews I have seen have been positive. The singel 500GB is $7 more then the dual $250, so that is a toss up and really penny pinching now that I look at it, but I have always prefered to have a seperate data drive from my operating drive. The PSU thing confused me too, but that is there least expensive case and the 500W PSU is recommended, I can call them and find out what the deal is there. So how would a dual SLI setup work, what card would be best for that? Also I am trying to keep the price, before tax and shipping (grrr) below $1500 just so you know. -

I still prefer my theory that those five are descendents from an earth expedition back to the colonies, I think it makes more sense in the long run. -
I vaguely recall the book, typical late 60s Zelany IIRC, may have to pick it up again, wonder if it is audio format so I can listen to it in the car.

What's wrong with the graphics card I chose? And it was actually more for a 500GB then the two 250GB, strange I know. I'm not buying for probably another month or so, so will continue to tweak it, will more then likely ditch the the wireless, but what about everything else? I figured that the upgrade PSU was a good idea considering the processing power, ram, and video requirements. -

Well the 500watt is an upgrade from the 400, so its not two PSUs, and how is it aftermarket if it's a new build? The soundcard is on the Motherboard, not seperate, and I do plan to do some media work on it as well, maybe play games. What two NIC cards, the lan is onboard the MoBo as well. As for the wireless card it is included in the package, otherwise I would dump it, prefer my hardwired connection.
