I remain scared of the tariffs on top of whatever that might cost at the moment. Still, want one.

That would be nice...with color-matched Fast/Super pack as well. An awkward third wheel at Max and Milia 1J social gatherings. ð Yet, even a green-striped 1J would scratch my itch. In fact, think someone once did a custom Hikaru 1J repaint in green stripe based on a squadron leader that may have been mentioned in canon, but unseen. Looked great to me, anyhow. Yes, one hopes that can be addressed, of course. A money machine if they can milk that mold further...well, in Macross terms. ðĪŠ I certainly doubt they'll be pushing the license boundaries Toynami did - like releasing a strike valk while under the series license. Not that I'd complain...

I understood the 403 Error to be IP blocking of foreign access. Bandai does the same. If someone has a Japanese-based proxy or VPN and cannot see it, that's another story.
-
I doubt I could sleep having done that. I don't sleep already while looking to own my first.

It's funny, when I think of the DYRL 1A, I always imagine my dream green 1J, and my fingers follow. The slip has happened before, and surely will again. ð But, a DYRL green one would be enough...for now.

Damn. Wish they went and just did his VF-1J first, but this makes me hopeful of that.

We can understand this. Customizing a product you make is not too much to ask for the buyer to do. Thank you for what efforts you did make, though. All I really want are official adapters available for sale for the Arcadia SDF-1 (thanks for the 3D print download up until recently), as well as ThreeZero, and KitzConcept valks. Those adapters are really the only glaring things missing from your selection. All your standard releases are perfect unto themselves, and which I promote to all I see looking for stands. If anything, if you branched out to adding adapters for non-mecha items like cradles for things like Bandai SH Figuarts or SH Monsterarts figures, I'd buy even more stands as those have equally poor included options, if any. I'd frankly love to have a Monsterarts King Ghidorah in a flying pose on a Archi stand. ðĪĐ

I may take you up on that! Right now, I do wonder if I can restore this with the parts on hand, even though I think the metal parts shown will be pitted at best when done. For those who remember, no, I haven't touched that (similarly sun-damaged) VT-1, as I think that might not be salvageable with how brittle it is. This Jetfire seems more of a hopeful case.
-
Thanks. White rust would seem to be what this is called. That assumes that Bandai used Chrome-plated Zamak for the diecast parts. Can anyone confirm they did? Looking things up in general, it seem like electrolysis is the most effective method of removal, but bathing the parts in vinegar and maybe lemon juice for awhile could do the job too. I just hoped someone here had been through this already and had more valk-specific advice. Blue/green sounds like it might be limescale too, come to think of it. That might be a different situation.
-
I'll try that. I presume just the metal parts should be immersed? How long did you have to do it? I assume the chrome plating is lost. Was that the case with the handle?
-
That's a perfectly reasonable assumption, but no. This Jetfire was acquired in this state. Looks, going by past experiences, as if this guy was partially submerged for a bit (about half the parts). Maybe a basement flood? I will post some pix soon, but I anticipated some kind of chemical bath might remove the oxidation (I'm thinking akin to Tarn-X). Then again, I don;t want to dissolve the plastic parts and wondered if disassembly is the way to go.
-
Anyone tackled removing die-cast oxidation from a Jetfire or similar era 1/55 valk?

Decals, at least the glow in the dark ones, have been knocked off, and are available on Aliexpress.

I still want it, but not if a batch ended up damaged due to poor clamshell sizing again.

Kitz Concept Toy Thread 2.0

I do like that color. Damn, tempting me again. If they did a TV SDF-1, I'd probably fold.- 2630 replies

What kind of cabinet? It can fit in a common DETOLF-style cabinet if a shelf-adjuster bracket is used, or a shelf is removed.
-
Mr. K sent one to Forbes??? ðŪ Seriously, I do see it's a resident Japanese contributor rather than some Manhattan-office desk-jockey. Still, to see a review in Forbes...I wonder if Bandai is at all jealous of that. ð

Looks like the Lootcrate Toynami colors.
