Although I like the green it does remind me a bit of the begining of Robotech you know where they used the footage from Southerncross (correct me if im wrong) of the green valk gerwalk firing a gun. The CF colours are so much more Macross, Even if you do generally see the CF as a bullet magnet or stuck to the end of an exploding missile.

Looks like I'd expect a cannon fodder version to look like. It looks good but needs to look more "used"

What are the words you don't want to hear in a sci-fi show?
big F replied to Wanzerfan's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
ROTFLMAO You gotta love Jerry Springer. M.J Eat your heart out The other one I hate is... Can you break their security ? followed by 3 seconds of key clicking and they are in past the worlds most secure network etc, and all the files are laid out as follows:- Really_secret.doc file size 20GB downloads in 3 seconds. Plans_to_take_over_the_ world.pdf has pretty animations even though they file type dosent support them. As I work in I.T this particularly pisses me off. So many people think my job is so easy. Especially the guys in Accounts who after completely killing the data base file system cant understand why it takes 2 days to put right, when on CSI or what ever takes 2 mins. -
This ones gonna roll on for years, much in the same way as LOTR did only longer. my prediction for release date is July 2020 at the earliest.

The Thing Prequel written by Ronald D. Moore
big F replied to chowyunskinny's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I remember back when I was about 11 My dad used to get a film from our local Video rental store every weekend. If it was new out or cool we saw it. Back in those days the ratings thing meant nothing to me as, my Dad would just say if you dont like it just go and play out side. by the age of 11 I was already wathcing quite adult horror and scifi, like The Thing and such from 80's. Im sure now that a prequle or remake will be a 12 or U cert film so it will be nothing scary or suspenseful <sp> As most films now are only 15 cert at most, cant remember the last 18 I saw at the Cinema. -
My latest delivery was in A1 condition ( a Hasegawa VF1) it was vac sealed and shrinkwrapped to some card and then placed in the carton. I guess luck has struck for me again. I currently have another package comming from them some books and magazines. Never tried getting publications from them before so we'll see how it turns out. Oddly most of the damaged post I have had has actually happend in the U.K. One time a package from John Moscato was droped into a puddle outside my house, my neighbor saw it happen. Luckly John double boxes, the outer was totally soaked. They just dumped it in my porch and left. Another was crushed at the UK entry post office. Made it all the way from Australia and gets crushed 50 miles from my house. The Post office denied it. Shame that when you pulled the dents and crushed end out of the box the UK post mark was purfect. Now often I just dont get the packages delivered the postman just put a card through the letterbox saying I can collect it from them, they' ll do it even when I'm in. I guess you get crushed stuff I just dont get mail, neither is purfect, hence why I get a lot sent to my parents house.

Battlestar Galactica Discussion III
big F replied to kaiotheforsaken's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Thats one episode where you wish the Cylons would find Earth and Nuke it into the pre-stoneage. Just to save you from your own intestines as they leap up your neck and throttle you from within. -
And have Hikaru fall in love with Max as well as Minmay and Misa double love triangle, cue girl on girl punch ups!!

A bit of polish and updated aminmation. Also bit more back story on the Zerntran side of things. Update the tech, I mean in 1984 the internet was not arround and mobile phones were only just begining, they were real scifi stuff. Give it a DYRL feel as its more edgy, less smulchy singing breaks and more Deculture!!

Sounds like there can be moments with tears then.

I wouldnt worry they are still a fairly special thing in most fans eyes. I put in my order for mine at HLJ and got the usual preorder conformations of price etc.

I'll be ponying up the cash to get me one just as my love for the VF1 knows no bounds LOL. Just will look cool along side my 1/48 Yammie, and 1/72 Hasegawas.

Having worked for one of the companies behind it (not gonna name them) I can certainly say that they want to make it main stream. I some ways I can see this as a bad thing, Its kinda saying you will watch in 3D because we say so. Some films would be kinda pointless in 3D others will be made by it e.g Avatar. The problem will be that some studios will over do it. The best 3D will be where you dont really notice it as it just seems natural and "real" with the occasional POPing bity of eye candy bit. As far as the glasses are many of my friends wear em and have all said why dont they make em in versions like the clip on sunglasses atachment you can get that clip on to your "normal" glasses. I know they are a bit old school but at least you wouldnt have to try and perch two pairs on your head. I did look at taking the lenses out and fitting them into some of my old glases frames, (I dont neeed glasses anymore) the frames are minimal and not so obvious when looking out of them. Plus they fit better and dont look like knock off RayBan copied copies. Home based 3D is still in it's early days although not too bad some games are available in it i.e Avatar. Sky UK are going to have a 3D set of channels but your gonna need a t.v with 120hz capability and a set of glasses to use it. In the long run I think it will only not be just a fad based cinema thing and gimic for the overly rich, provided that technology gives reliable screens that dont need glasses. At present the T.V monitors I have worked with are o.k at best, beaten soundly by hi quality HD screens.

The thing that killed the AVP thing for me was the really quick gestation the Aliens had. In the original Alien film and II and III, I got the impression that this took days rather than a few hours, as seen in AVP. You know that had enough time to drag Kane (John Hurt) back to the ship and put him in med bay run a few tests have him come round and start lunch before the Alien wanted out. This film would work if you had some bad ass army types all hunted down to the last one who finally realises its all about the guns. Predators wont fight him and go home, roll credits. Hope it does good for the francise.

Your work so far is awesome. Might be able to help with the jewel bit, I have a friend who makes jewellery mostly costume stuff. I'll ask her a see what she can come up with.

Most of the stuff John does while bored, the rest of us would be hard pushed to do while not board or even with a gun held to our heads. John if you cast they will buy it.
