So, the Nazi's can never be brought up without it being "Godwinned", eh? I suppose their evil makes them sacrosanct from ever being used as an example then? If motive doesn't matter but simply means, then any surgeon would be considered a murderous psycho because they "cut open living , breathing people". Never mind the intent is to repair structures inside the human body; the means damns them regardless according to that logic! After your replies here (and the ones in my other topic where you tore apart the permission I got from the Navy for the illustration), I'm afraid that any dialogue with you is just pointless. *11/21/2022 Member SebastianP placed on Ignore*

That makes a lot of sense, given that the canopy is the only other layer underneath the heat shield that's deployed in Battroid mode that covers the cockpit. It wouldn't take much to shatter a glass canopy underneath if an enemy simply targeted that area: kinetic damage would still do a number.

From what I learned, it was intestinal cancer: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/11/11/arts/television/kevin-conroy-batman-dead.html One real shame is that he could have played Bruce Wayne/ Batman IRL when he was young; I think he would have fit the role perfectly with his looks:

I actually do agree with Seto's description, since even the best of people can be forced into drastic and even heinous acts when left with no alternatives. From experience: what makes one a monster is more than means and ends; motive must also be considered. As for your cited examples: the reason why no one argued with the destruction of Boddole Zer, Roid, Galaxy's leadership, Grace and such is that they had become threats that were detrimental to the survival of populations. On that note: taken as a whole, the reason why Hitler was a monster is that he threatened entire populations, his motives were cruel and inhumane, and his methods were utterly inhuman to the extreme. Why someone is a monster is more than just one vector or avenue. It must also be that they have consistently done these things as well.

It's odd that Shinsei would simply let General Galaxy run them off like that, considering that the 19 and 22 were "neck and neck" in Project Supernova. It makes me wonder if there were more skeletons in Shinsei's closet that would have been exposed than they were willing to risk ; perhaps GG got info on them that would have killed their industry ops if it were revealed? I ask that because they seemed to duck back into a corner and keep making the 19 even more unflyable than it already was, rather than risk focusing on a mainline fighter that didn't have all that "push" to it. Also: given that the VF-171 is basically a slimmed-down VF-17 Nightmare ( http://www.macross2.net/m3/macrossf/vf-171.htm ), it seems that GG had something of a head-start on a fallback for a new main-line fighter insofar as they already had a platform with which to work with rather than starting "from scratch". I also would venture that since Project Supernova, the needs and req's for a new mainline fighter changed between 2040 and 2050, which would mean that they even moreso needed a fighter that the majority of NUNS could fly and not just a select few exceptional pilots.

I suspect during this time, Shinsei began investing in guacamole kiosks to deal with what was left of the pilots after trying to fly the 19...

I wonder if a similar device could do the same for infrared signatures (heat) that would give away a stealth fighter? (makes notes for VF-113)

Okay, though I imagine the EX-Gear still helped.

RIP Robert Clary (Cpl. LeBeau, Hogan's Heroes)

From AP: LOS ANGELES (AP) — Robert Clary, a French-born survivor of Nazi concentration camps during World War II who played a feisty prisoner of war in the improbable 1960s sitcom “Hogan’s Heroes,” has died. He was 96. Clary died Wednesday of natural causes at his home in the Los Angeles area, niece Brenda Hancock said Thursday. “He never let those horrors defeat him,” Hancock said of Clary’s wartime experience as a youth. “He never let them take the joy out of his life. He tried to spread that joy to others through his singing and his dancing and his painting.” When he recounted his life to students, he told them, “Don’t ever hate,” Hancock said. “He didn’t let hate overcome the beauty in this world.” “Hogan’s Heroes,” in which Allied soldiers in a POW camp bested their clownish German army captors with espionage schemes, played the war strictly for laughs during its 1965-71 run. The 5-foot-1 Clary sported a beret and a sardonic smile as Cpl. Louis LeBeau. (more) https://apnews.com/article/entertainment-europe-obituaries-sitcoms-d4d90b6a9548bc50f36354794ac7cdf4

My personal opinion (for whatever weight it carries) is that the demands the planes put on their respective pilots and how hard they were to control was probably the most pressing concern. A brand new fighter that is high performance and that powerful (particularly in the YF-19's case) does little good wen it cripples/ kills most who tried to fly it. I know they dialed it down for the VF-19 series, but it still ended up making the EX-Gear necessary for future craft. ^I say the previous knowing that I'm probably off, haven't read the Macross Chronicle sections on it, and a bunch of other stuff I forgot/ didn't realize/ didn't come with my UnHappy Meal©.

As did I; I had actually waited up for the last time they tried to launch, only for them to have to scrub it due to the leak they had. Good that they finally got the girl off the ground! Now we can see if everything works as it should. -
As I recall, he unfortunately got bitter and resentful in his later years, as he felt he "didn't get the recognition he deserved". He ended up alienating a lot of his fanbase, and ultimately did his own career a lot of harm. But for all that, his comedy up until that point was spot-on and always good to point out our foibles as a society.

I just watch the various series' and movies; when it comes to continuity, that doesn't matter too much. As long as the story is good and the fights are amazing...
