  1. Thanks Thom! FINAL UPDATE: 1/18th Hikaru Ichijo reporting for duty: Made a stand for him out of thick styrene plate, some sprue and a paper UN SPACY "kite" that I clear-coated and glued to the base: So now Hikaru can go big... ... or go Macross: Either way, it's gonna be a Macross Summer!!! Thanks for watching! See you next build!
  2. UPDATE: 1/650 TOS Enterprise: And a test shot that I put into Photoshop: I just need to do a few more minor details and the ship should be finished! Stay tuned...
  3. Strange New Worlds looks like it might be good...we'll have to see how the first season runs.
  4. I've read that, and the original versions for the characters are quite interesting. Hikaru (for example) looks edgier and angrier than what he finally ended up being in the series, while Misa looked more carefree and bubbly compared to her final incarnation. I still laugh about the SDF-1 and the "breast fighters" though lol. Not to mention the Macross going on a spree and destroying a couple of cities.
  5. With that in mind, they may as well make an Exo-Squad movie; at least the license for that would be much simpler. Heck, even a Zybots movie would be better off that RT, all things considered.
  6. Thanks guys! It's been a dream of mine for some years to finally accurize Mr. Ichijyo/ Mr. Hunter Speaking of which, final pics: Start: Finish: Now he'll go next to my VF-1S (still trying to find repair parts fr my VF-1J model). I might do a 1/18 scale cockpit, you never know... Now back to the Enterprise... Stay Tuned...
  7. I often wonder if one cause for consternation with the emigrant fleets and the colonies was getting "monkey models" while UN central kept the best stuff? I know astute techs and those with deep pockets could mod the craft into near- peak performance, but I imagine that to constantly keep getting "hemmed-down" (akin to what the Vulcans did to Earth in Star Trek: Enterprise) probably got on at least some folks' nerves. And yeah: I also get why Earth did that: to keep an edge and limit what any fleet or colony could do if they revolted.
  8. For mine, I would like to be able to trim them. But for the rest, let them have theirs pre-trimmed
  9. In six months: "Josh Trank Tapped To Direct Robotech Adaptation".
  10. Taking a break from decalling the Enterprise; it's pretty extensive and my focus is a bit off due to the foul weather). Anyways, found this at a flea market last sunday: (Yeah, I know: doesn't resemble poor Hikaru, huh?) Anyways, stripped the figure and helmet down, added an addition to the waist to lengthen the ridiculously short torso, repainted the figure and the helmet, and resculpted the head: Progress so far: Just need to paint in the eyes and refine the overall likeness a bit. Stay tuned...
  11. Just use caution when gluing on the legs/ main engines; you may want to use epoxy. Also: the stand arm is trash.
  12. I'm back. How to get to Earth from Frontier in less than ten years: 1) Put yourself in a crate marked We'd like to speak with you about your Battle Fortress' Extended Warranty 2) Have yourself shipped to Earth. Those notices take less than a week to get where they're going!
  13. Nice work!! Looks absolutely perfect! ❤️
  14. Recently, i bought the 50th Anniversary reissue of the original AMT TOS Enterprise (On sale 40% off @ Hobby Lobby!); I'm well familiar with the failings and shortcomings on this one all too well. Well...this time around, I addressed a few things: )1 Revised the bridge and B/C deck: 2) Made new domes for the bridge and planetary sensor: 2.5) Filled those stupid dimples in the lower saucer: 3) replaced the too-short piece under the bussards with custom-made parts (that were also separated as they were supposed to be) : 4) Reinforced the living daylights out of the secondary hull (particularly the warp pylon slots and strongback): 5) Sealed up the secondary hull like a submarine: 6) the Warp Pylons bit the dust (too much bending, and they were in the wrong place on the nacelle; I just cut them off and scratched up new solid ones: In -progress shots: 7) New Bussard Collectors, made from sheet acetate, using a heat gun: 7) Said heat gun used to make myself a cheeseburger: Stay tuned...decals and weathering/ touch ups coming up. (also, maybe french fries?... )
  15. Try asking here: https://www.dafont.com/forum/read/271624/macross-font The gang at DaFont may be able to help you. Normally I wouldn't respond anymore outside of the workshop (due to issues I won't go into right now), but I consider this a modeling question and didn't want to leave you hanging bro!
