  1. I get that feeling from most of the cg anime, but it's no where near as bad looking as Berserk. Ajin does make up for any visual problems by having a good storyline.
  2. I'm also one of those that goes straight to the forums. In fact my first visit to the site was because of a google search about macross news because I was trying to find out more about the Macross hmr toys and that search went straight to the forums rather than the front page. Now I use these forums for not only macross toys, but just about anything else sci-fi. The people here are far more friendly and helpful than other forums on other sites.

    Hi-Metal R

I know there was a prototype for the movie version, but I don't remember if there was a tv version.
  4. It's an amazingly good film and truly makes up for so many bad or subpar X Men or Wolverine films. The down to earth action scenes are great looking and brutal. The story and emotional connection is by far the best I have ever seen with this franchise. I gotta admit being a bit choked up at several parts of this one. It may go in the running for best super hero film of all time. To be honest I didn't expect this to be so great.
  5. I keep thinking it may look shorter when it gets some color and especially with the black stipe around the area in front of the cockpit.
  6. My daughter started getting me to watch that dragon maid show as well. It's pretty fun and reminds me of a lesbian Tenchi with all the weird female dragons seemingly in love with Miss Kobayashi, and her not being interested in anything other than friendship. I also like that she's kind of a double personality when it comes to drinking.
  7. I hope it has all the weird old references like Silverhawks games and Eric Clapton.
  8. Hey Pengbuzz, sorry about what's been said elsewhere, but here I think you are much more appreciated. I always like seeing a project that puts more work than I'm willing to do. I like that you did extra fitting and joint work as well as the sculpting. Don't give up, I really want to see where that project goes.
  9. For minipla those really look impressive. I can't wait to get these.
  10. Rubbing alcohol at the store works alright. They can be cheap and come in 2 general grades. The stronger 91 percent works when the weaker grade doesn't. The weaker 70 something percent is already diluted. Also with gundam markers sometimes after drying a simple rubber eraser can work, but I would probably just try the weaker alcohol first on a test piece. Also don't over soak the kit, a little goes for a bit.
  11. Yeah the price is very high on that one. I think I'll just get the minipla and save up.
  12. If never used lacquer thinner that way, but depending on the type of paint you panel lined with a weaker thinner can help or even alcohol. If it's lacquer paint just on plastic alcohol can work by just getting a napkin or cloth slightly damp and going over the model just be careful around clear parts. a clarification on the process you used and types of paints would be useful for better advice. also some lacquer thinners are very harsh on plastic, but not all.
  13. Yeah the con was very close, any way you could try the phone number first and maybe get some better info.
  14. I thought a toy or kit company made that bike maybe aoshima, but it was a while back and I can't be too sure.
  15. It's still in a taped together prototype stage, so some improvements may happen. I think it's probably safer to wait and see before doing an early order.
  16. Max factory licenses for kits have been very interesting these last couple of years. I hope they keep up with their improvements.
  17. I do see Nathan Fillion, but I think it the way the hair looks and the angle. I've seen the figure in person as well and it looks very close to what it should.
  18. the workers at the booth said you can stop by during business hours, so I'm assuming it's also a physical store. I personally haven't visited yet though so I can't tell you what it's like.
  19. Flyer from last anime expo
  20. Some of the pictures were fake, but from what I gather were based on products being produced like the 1/20 figure kits. I think the macross and nausica are in the kits and I can't be really sure on anything I didn't see a prototype for. If anyone has better info on what's fake, figma or a kit I think most of us would like some clarity.
  21. Lots of great work goin on guys and congrats on the engagement derex.
  22. Their kits are getting close to bandai quality and ease of part separation. Every kit gets better. They are very impressive when seen upclose and the larger ones are very poseable and have a bit of a skeleton to build on like an mg gundam. If you ever get a chance to go to an event I recommend checking out their booth. They usually do anime expo and a few others. Their employees are very helpful and don't mind showing what's in the box. They also usually have all the kits built on display. They also have a store in or near Torrance C.A.
  23. On tag hobby they have a prototype of the deadpool and a bunch of other great teasers for figma. The mospeada is very entertaining and I gather it's a partnership with freeing. So much stuff, hope these aren't just teasers but thing that become reality.
