I’m more curious about how it compares to the wave 1/100 vf1 kits.
-
It would be far cheaper and more likely easier to kitbash the upcoming moderoid kit with a couple Macross kits , like the head from a 1a and parts from an armored Valkyrie kit and maybe leg and fore arm parts from a super Valkyrie. Just gotta figure out which scale Valkyrie kits to get to fit the Orgus kit. Or maybe someone is really good with 3D printing. Either way, I’d love to see it.

I’m more referring to actual hg kits from when Bandai first started marking the hguc line around 99 ish. I think Bandai had a few hg kits before the hguc line like the Endless waltz kits and 08th team, but I’d still say they compare better construction wise with early to mid hguc kits. As I’ve said above, they’re pretty simple and some are actually even better than those older hguc kits. They have a better look than those hg kits as well. My favorites have been the obsolete series. The inner frames go together really well and are really fun. Just keep a bit of glue handy and expect a few seam lines and places to paint over if you really want to go all out. Some parts on some kits are pre clolored for those that don’t care about the seams, but with little effort they can be pretty great. The big thing for me with moderoid kits is the variety of subjects. Bandai is the king of Gundam and very little else, but if there’s an obscure anime or an old classic then moderoid is the way to go. I’m really hoping the Orgus is gonna have a simple transformation, since I have a feeling that some joints may need to be tightened a bit. The promo pics look really great and I’m really excited for the release.

Just got notification that the Cobra Commander and BATS are on the way from bbts. Not sure when they’ll get here since all the highways going up the mountains behind San Bernardino are still shutdown, but it’s good to know they came in stock

I have a few moderoids. Most are snap, but some have parts you might want to reinforce with glue. Just test fit and you’ll figure it out. They compare pretty well with older high grade kits if that’s what you’re used to but the newer hg kits are made for extreme ease for a quick snap up. As far as stickers, some come with waterslides and some have stickers and others have both. The descriptions on most pages are seem accurate as to what is included. Overall, they’re pretty simple if you have that experience from those old hg kits and they’ll be a breeze for anyone used to anything older than those

Enjoy, those are a couple nice ones. Don’t skip the destroids or the Zentraedi mecha though

I’ve always been a sucker for cartoonishly silly vocals and to me the champs are Megadeth, Mercyful Fate and Immortal. With those three bands you get amazing music and vocals that make me chuckle and I love them for that.

I liked the idea of it, but once I saw the preview, I lost interest and then the reviews killed it for me. I still haven’t watched it even though it’s free

You’re not missing much. Just a lot of her talking through her teeth because the actress couldn’t open her mouth far enough to speak normally and a bunch of evil useless non hobbits that will leave you behind to die if you twist your ankle

I didn’t realize there was enough excitement for the Rob Zombie Munsters to get toys made

Space wise, I guess you should be glad for all the seed releases keeping the clutter down a bit

I’d watch any of those if they don’t have a creepy toothy Galadriel like the cringy one in Rings of Power

I’m a bit priced out for the hmr, so I’ll definitely get the moderoid without hesitation

Bandai likes having multiple scales and products. The 1/72 kits are kinda like a master grade with inner frames and full or close to full transformations and these 1/100 kits are the high grade entries that will have a lower price and part swapping . There probably will be an hmr as well down the line and some people won’t have cash for it and opt out for the kit and others will want it for their hmr collection and others who’ll have both. Their gundam line had everything from ship scales 1/220and 1/200, the common 1/144 , 1/100 1/160 and all the way up to 1/35 entries and a bunch of scales I didn’t even list. Dunbine, Patlabor and other franchisees have had many different scales for toys and kits. I wouldn’t expect them to stay to one scale or product for Macross. They currently have the hg and 1/72 line for kits. Hmr , 1/72 dx and 1/48 scale dx for figures and so far I don’t think any line is damaging another

She’s the greatest example of a one night stand actress. She’s crazy enough for a great time, but way too crazy to bring home

I really doubt that they will release the destroids as wwm releases. If they were gonna take a good chance with sdfm items, then the recent super 1-S Hikaru would have been a top item
-
Then I guess there’s a good chance of that since there are still people that preordered and they didn’t have enough to go around
-
I kinda like it, but not sure if I’ll get one

He was in the movies already and the holiday special. I think this one may have him in more screen time though

It’s just a matter of time. The standard releases are are usually restocked every couple months. These are just high grade models and not premium metal build figures with a limited number manufactured. I remember when there was a big demand for the hg nightingale and it only took two months before the second batch was released.

I remember old Johnny Quest cartoons being pretty brutal, but as far as drama Star Blazers was the first one I saw that had that kind of emotional connection and seemed so different

I think it may be the other way around. More people bought a preorder than expected. A lot of places seemed to not have enough on release and for people that weren’t in Japan the options were limited on where to shop. Hlj was one of the only major ones to offer it outside Japan. But there were U.S. retailers like bbts and usags that offered preorders. the set I got was from HLJ, but since they only offered one per customer at the time of preorder for the kits and decals, I ordered 2 more sets from bbts. Those still haven’t come in stock. They’re probably on a slow boat from across the way. I wasn’t in a big rush to build them since I’ve got a big backlog going, although I think they’ll bump ahead of a few projects.
-
Will the preorder be available at regular hobby sites, or just through them?
-
Yeah, hopefully they do the old school pilots as well for the people that bought into the large vf-1 kits. You could buy it for the decals and have a cool bonus figure at the same time.
