  1. What a coincidence. I just received my Ba in the mail as well. Can't wait to get back home and open it up, subpar decal quality be damned.
  2. Oh, nice. I'd been hoping for this. I like the increased horsepower of the new 3DS, but I prefer the ergonomics of the 2DS. Shame there's no regular-sized version, but I'll take what I can get. Argh, now just to get a copy of Xenoblade... And all the 3DS Zeldas... And a Switch... And BotW... And hoo boy, suddenly I have no more money again. EDIT: Actually, having actually taken a look at the video, I'm disappointed it isn't the same single-plane device like the original 2DS. I suppose the XL size sort of makes it a bit less cumbersome, but I still would have liked a regular New 2DS without the folding screen.
  3. I'd love to see Kawamori rethink Gerwalk for the next series. I remember we were talking about it with the Draken III before its full transformation was revealed. It's not to say that "traditional" Gerwalk looks bad - I love it - but it would just be nice for a different third mode.
  4. Yep, Nintendo published it, which means unless they experience a rare bout of generosity, that game will remain locked to Nintendo consoles. Hopefully it'll at least see its way to the Switch. I'm thinking I might finally get one with my tax refund.
  5. No, not at all. The games were designed for arcades, thus simple controls. ZoE, on the other hand, is unique; I've modified other games to control more like it, but nothing came "pre-baked" with ZoE controls. As far as similar-feeling mech games... Strike Suit Zero and Strike Suit Infinity come to mind. One is the story game, the other is the arcade/survival game. It's more Macross than ZoE, with transforming space plane mecha, but that's another game where I modified the mecha controls to play more like ZoE and the flight controls to be more like Ace Combat. I remember it being fun, even if it didn't strike either of those itches perfectly. --- From what I remember of the Gundam Vs series (using a Playstation pad): - Square for main weapon - Triangle for melee - X for jump (double-press(+hold) to dive when in the air in later games, I think) - Circle for... target lock-on? - Left Stick/D-pad for movement, double-press(+hold) to boost in that direction - Shoulder buttons were used as button combinations for special commands like manual reload (Ground Gundam/GM's machine gun) or secondary weapon fire (Gundam's head vulcans) until the introduction of assist characters, then one was dedicated to summoning them. - I think you can enter a sort of boost mode with a specific button combination, but I haven't played a Vs game since the PSP one so I can't confirm. EDIT: Oh, also my own thing, I just bought Bayonetta on PC. Finally gonna give that game a shot, can't wait. Now if only Sega/Platinum would port Vanquish and Anarchy Reigns over to PC, too...
  6. Fed vs Zeon was such a good game. That space battle music, though, shudder. BaWEEEEEEEEE.... BaWEEEEEEEEE, baWEEEEEEEEE, baWEEEEEEEEE, baWEEEEEEEEE, baWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. When I started playing it emulated on PC, I actually went to the trouble of ripping out the music files and replacing that track with something actually bearable.
  7. It's made or headed by someone who started out as a fan creator, who (I think) did a fan remake or some such thing of Sonic that was very well-received, especially compared with whoever made Sonic 4. I'm not too sure on the ins and outs, but the important thing is that this game is supposed to be 2D only, and people think it looks really good. Me, I've never been a big Sonic fan anyhow, so I'll leave it up to those who are to judge it. I think the same individual is also working on a 3D Sonic game as well.
  8. It seems so, at least from scouring the instruction pics. The Strike parts don't have anything to do with the hip joints, so you can build a "naked" VF-1S battroid, complete with the new hip joints and lacking the Super/Strike parts, using the Strike kit. You'll just have to veer away from the instruction sheet at... four?... points: - Step 3: Put parts F19 and F21 on the forearm slots (covering the mounting points for the arm missile launchers) - Step 13: Skip this step - Step 14: Use part D2 instead of the Step 13 assembly when constructing the backpack (leaving no mounting points for the Strike/Super packs) - Step 23: Put part F16 on the gaps on the back of the forelegs (covering the mounting points for the leg verniers/fuel tanks) I hope I'm correct with that assessment. Best of luck. EDIT: In case you want to check the instructions for yourself: VF-1A/J/S "Naked" Battroid - http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10025791 VF-1S Strike Battroid - http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10031212
  9. If you mean "do the Super/Strike Battroid kits still have both Q parts (new hips) and C parts (old hips)?" then yes. (I have a -1A Super Battroid bought last year or so and can confirm the parts.) If you mean "did they replace the C parts (old hips) with Q parts (new hips) in the new releases of the A/J/S Battroid kit?" then... I don't know. I would imagine not. If you mean "are the new hips still better than the old one?" then I also don't know. I would imagine yes.
  10. First Class, Deadpool, and Logan all had to fight their own studio in order to be made at their level of quality. They're only as good as they are because dedicated, talented individuals manhandled the studio execs (Matthew Vaughn, Reynolds, and Jackman/Stewart). DoFP was a return to the old way of doing things, and Apocalypse was the second Last Stand because of it. I have no hope whatsoever for this movie.
  11. Just got back from seeing my first anime in theaters, Your Name. It's always hard for me to recommend Makoto Shinkai's works, because he's never really mastered storytelling the way other anime directors have (Satoshi Kon, Miyazaki, etc.), but he's also a wholly different breed from them, and the same can be said of his films. I'm always drawn to his movies, even though or maybe because they focus on themes of life and living that I don't normally search for. If you watch his 5-minute short film "She and Her Cat" and enjoy it, you'll probably enjoy a lot of his other stuff as well. Link to an actually not half-bad English fandub:
  12. I thought this was a kitbash of a VF-11 and a VE-1, or maybe a custom job. I didn't realize Hasegawa came out with a VE-11 kit. Great job. Did you have to add the micromissile launchers, or did those come with the kit? (Also, wouldn't it not have weapons at all, being a VE and all? If I remember correctly, the VE-1 had custom Super Packs lacking missile launchers and a non-combat gunpod. Though the RVF-25 had its full complement of weapons, so eh...)
  13. http://www.thejimquisition.com/whats-nintendos-frakking-problem/ EDIT: That being said, I didn't really care for the NES Classic and probably won't care for the SNES Classic, either. I'd have been interested if the NES-C was more than just an emulation box. Physical media, maybe, and/or exclusive artwork. But nope, it's just something I can already get for free on my PC or even make for cheap with a DIY computer like a Raspberry Pi.
  14. I forget how, but there was confirmation that somewhere in the Switch's deep-down software, a cloud-save feature exists. There are rumors that it'll be enabled as part of the Nintendo subscription service. It's kind of a bummer, since there's no other way to take your gamesaves off the console.
  15. Tangentially related, but this showed up on my Youtube feed (also, I may or may not have already posted the video, but I think it's a good one):
  16. Darth Maul as the sole baddie is an old idea, but it WAS SUCH A GOOD ONE. And so obvious, too. That said, Maul as Backflipping Evil Ninja Devil is perfect as is. Just have him constantly, silently, sadistically slicing Jedi into ribbons through all three movies until the only option left is for Anakin to brute force him, and then even as he's being Force Choked to death he doesn't struggle or beg for mercy. Just has this sort of gleeful look on his face, because he's reveling in the darkness he's bringing into the world.
  17. I seem to keep getting a weird... SOMETHING where my scroll wheel will stop working randomly. Usually it happens when I navigate from any subforum to a thread; suddenly I'll lose middle wheel scrolling ability for the entire forum on that tab. Middle-click to scroll still works, scrolling on other tabs still works, etc. Going to a different website on the same tab restores scrolling, and going from that other website back to MWF likewise restores scrolling... until I go to a thread and (sometimes) the scrolling stops again. It's not a big issue by any means, just a strange thing that happens only on this forum. I've had it happen on multiple computers; in one instance the Backspace key on my main computer became nonfunctional as well.
  18. Elintseeker colors, maybe? Eh? EH?
  19. What's this Senran Kagura and what's wrong with--oh. OHHHHHHHH. It's one of THOOOSE games.
  20. bleh. wrong thread
  21. Not to beleaguer the point, but I just got done with the first season of SAC, and maaaan... This movie should have been about the Tachikomas. That's all.
