Where is that Carrier Deck from?

Just received Robotech Macross Tactics. Ummed and Ahhed about getting this for quite some time given all the crap surrounding the marketing and production balls up of this, but the wife wanted to try it which in itself is bewildering so I had to give it a go. Will let you know how it goes after the weekend.

It was a weird one as Lester at Starship didnt really even know it was coming until I told him. Then when they finally arrived he put them up on the site the next day and BAM they were gone. I only got my two as I had asked him to put them aside and just bill me through paypal, not to bother waiting for me to order them. I could trade one for 3 Tomytec 1/144 Battroids if you were REALLY desperate

soooo.... if you wanted to do a display like the Tokyo show one with a fighter unfolding into a Gerwalk then to a Battroid is THIS the one to use or would the other 2 mode one be better?

Yep. Me and Slide have been emailing the Caster and Zeroone at Starship once a week and getting updates as they made them. Slide's the one that alerted us all to them being up and BANG... all gone in one day! Looking forward to seeing what we all come up with! Thom, given they just cast some up, you maybe able to get a new canopy if you need one for the Cyano smoked one.

Just do as I am and blouse out on having it transform and stick to one mode.

you dont mask the metalic so much as the Gloss sealer coat over the metallic. Some metallics are crazy prone to blemishes from fingerprints, tape, staring too hard at it. But once its had a sealer coat its fine. Then you do the blue over the top of that Laying the gold first means you can lay a super smooth black gloss base layer, then the gold, then the sealer, then the blue then the final sealer Lots of fast forwarding for me...

you know the best thing with that Wave VF-4... is doesnt make the Repptu resin one irrelevant in that it looks so similar it would look fine on display next to one. Major noticable difference is the ram engine intakes are set both into the top side AND the bottom side of the centre wing sections.

Any idea of its name?

On the box art for the VF-19A of SVF-569 "Lightnings" is the carrier CV-339. What is it? When is it, Where is it? I think its an Uraga Class carrier BUT thats a starship, not waterborne. Asking as I am modelling some Carrier decks as displays and what to include this one ONCE I find info on its name and deck layout.

yeah... the Mecha are brilliant... the tech rocks, the characters are appalling and the stories are Child like and more like Beverly Hill 90210 or Melrose Place. If they could get the Yukikaze writers to pen a Macross Story you'd have a winner! The Prequel was pretty good, The YF19 vs YF21 story good too. The rest... no.
