you have that now in the VF-1D Gerwalk kits, no?
-
The difference is ones the old one with the raised lines and old style packaging, so its an old kit, old decals. Its fine otherwise. It will have also been purchased at Hasegawas old price so thats why its cheaper. The other is a newer kit, newer tooling (CnC'd Ali Master Mold), newer packaging (costs more) with a limited run 57th Sqn decal set (more added cost) sold at Hasegawas current price (more expensive) to the retailers. If you just want an F15 kit, any kit, the first ones fine. The second one would be more for a collector like me that gathers up all versions of VF-1s with all possible sqn markings etc. I end up paying more for those as they are limited runs, like the Moon Shooters, the Black Aces and the Lightnings ones

1/72 Bandai VF-25F Messiah build-up step-by-step (sort of)
NZEOD replied to wm cheng's topic in The Workshop!
just dont.... DONT... leave a bottle of Alclad next to your airbrush line with the cap off... its makes an expensive mess when you knock it over... twice now! I use Pale Burnt metal as my base then moving to Exhaust Manifold towards the tips and all over the inside on the nozzles with Jet Exhaust on the very tips. I've also added extra ball bearings to those bottles to ensure they are TOTALLY mixed before decanting any. My Steel also looks like speckled crap and the Gun Metal isnt so crash hot either. There is also a Hot Metal Blue and a Hot Metal Purple which I'm still learning to use. Its a clear coat you add to the exhausts etc to show metal heat stress and blueing. -
Anybody have a 1/72 vf-1 bandai kit to throw away? Need

Means they are using the wrong term Or they mean this acrylic can be used over an enamel base -
Love it make the switch a magnetic reed switch. That way its tiny AND you can hide the 1mm magnet on the underside of a peice of the model that can be "clicked" into place to turn it on, making the switch virtually invisible

Substrate is the layer beneath... so the canopy becomes the substrate when the humbrol clear goes on. if you pull a pair of socks on, your feet becomes the substrate. If you put shoes on the socks are then the substrate. -
On my VF1s the 3x5mm magnets are strong enough to hold the super pods on THROUGH the plastic without having to drill a hole right though. The ones I use to hold the models upside down in the display cases actually have the magnets hidden BEHIND the landing gear doors and still hold enough attraction to hold a finished model to the wall upside down even while I'm hammering in renovations on the opposite wall.

Filament lights or LEDs? The Neoppixel LED has the driver chip built in to it can carry out the fade commands from a trinket 5v

SOOOOO wish you hadnt posted that up... Wanting to build the CVN-99 Asuka II deck in 1/72 now and nail it to a wall in one of the kids rooms. Full deck would be 7152mm long so it would have to be the Cat section only... and maybe the rear section on another wall... Perfect place to display the ES-11D Cats eye... on Cat 1! Asked the wife... she sighed and just hung up the phone. Odd.

72-H0070 http://www.shapeways.com/product/H5PBJ53JQ/72-h0070-carrier-catapult-1-or-3-crew-scale-1-72 opps... was too busy being amazed

Just received the first set of deck crew from Shapeways in 1/72 scale Printed in FUD my impressions, giving my expectations werent overly high given the level, or lack of, detail on the Fujimi and Hasegawa crew kits... WOW!!!! On initial inspection the level of detail is OF THE CHARTS!! I can see raised thumbs, creased T Shirts under the jackets, boom mics, googles and earmuffs in exceptional clarity! I'll post up the photos tonight. My next question will be if Shapeways can invert the file to print them again in mirror to increase the pose options.

Just get some, make it look good, then before it gets old enough to yellow or crack up, blow the shite out of it at New Years with a .303 and some Tannerite. And video it. With some epic music. -

Watching the video in the link, it seems to work fine straight out of the bottle. -

look to the N rating for the strength, higher the N number the stronger the magnet will be. I use N45 5mm x 3mm magnets to hold my Hasegawas onto their display cases slightly inverted. 3 on Perspex sticks to match with 3 hidden inside the model is enough. For weapons and things I use TINY little 2mm ones rated at N50 Word of warning. Keep them MILES away from any kids as to swallow a couple at this strength is to invite disaster, pain and death within the intestinal tract. Treat them as lethal until they are mounted into place.
