I think that was just one smart ass comment someone made about Graham. After the last three transforming toy releases with problems that could have been avoided, I think that this entire costumer battying might be useful in the long run. That Yamato listens to Graham (a guy that runs the most important Macross site and that people all over the world visit) must mean that they actually take seriously to some extent the overseas market. Why is that? Because they don't have such a big market in Japan as, let’s say, Bandai does with Gundam. So all the extra sales made outside of Japan have more impact on their total sales. Tiny as it may bee, it’s still a lot higher than the impact of overseas Gundam sales. So, in other words, all the noise made could make them take notice that the overseas gravy market won’t just fork money because the big box says Macross and that those costumers are getting tired of their first release design fartups. We should not preorder Yamato first releases and certainly not buy them until we know they have been properly made. Catch 22 problem? Don't think so: -If we are important to Yamato’s sales, they can perfectly see that the lack of sales are because we want more quality on their first runs, not because we don’t want more Macross toys. -If we are not important and only Japanese buyers count, then at least we won’t buy defective toys. It’s just a matter of adding 6 to 12 months more to the official first release date in our heads.

I'm sorry, but I side with the whiners here (called unsatisfied customers in some places). After all, they actually paid for the product; they aren't talking about 2D line art accuracy. Minor as the problems may be the fact is that if I buy a 2nd release YF-19 I'll pay the same these guys paid but I'll get a better toy. Doesn’t seem fair to me. In exchange for getting the toy early (and just that), first release buyers pay to become toy testers. Then, as a way of giving thanks to first release supporters, they get the chance to buy four thin pieces of plastic and a tube that light up... for the same price as the meaty VF-1 FP. Not even a crummy gummy hand that could hold the gunpod like a stick. And thank goodness that there are unsatisfied customers… no, wait “whiners†that bring up constantly the minor and mayor problems they have with their legally made purchases. Remember the floppy arms of the VF-0S? Well, to Graham it wasn’t such a big deal but people kept whining and whining so he told Yamato about the whining and now the VF-0A has tighter arms. If I buy a second release VF-0S, I’ll get a tighter toy that won’t loose an arm. It’s great that Yamato makes Macross toys when nobody else does, but they make them because they make money, not because they are doing us a favour. And costumers can complain all they want when their purchase does not reach the level it could have easily reached and WILL reach when it gets reissued (as has happened time and time again with Yamato).

Well, they transform. Do the mighty YP-19 FP transform, show mechanical detail or otherwise do anything other than stick to a toy???? The tube lights up... wow And I did use a relevant example to back up my post. You not liking it does not make it irrelevant. I just pointed out that a small company that caters to a niche market (like Yamato) can make something that retails for cheap. That and that Yamato will sell in wholesale these Fp for more or less the final price stores are asking for the Toynami stuff. Make your own conclusions; to me is that Yamato will be making good money out of four pieces of plastic and a plastic tube with a led. What personal attack? I quoted your post because the last part (the one I made to look in bold and big) speaks about the way Yamato does business. Nope, not doing your job right is unprofessional. -It's their job to know which are the right colours, not the fans. -It's their job to put out a ready and properly tested product, not the fans. -It's their job to find out what’s wrong with their products, not the fans. But look: Well, good thing people battyed about that one. -Listening to costumer feedback is also their job; it’s not a gift they give their costumers. Not doing three out of four things a serious company has to do does not make them professional. When their design fartups are constant you aren’t dealing with a professional company Oh, and one thing: Graham happens to run the most important Macross website outside of Japan. If Macrossworld is the prime gatekeeper of all that if Macross for the rest of the world, it's sure is one hell of a presentation card that backs up Graham's recommendations to Yamato. Would they listen to Graham if there was no Macrossworld? Good thing Graham cares about Macross and is there to babysit Yamato. Yeah, the rest of the world is gravy market, but having it all lead to Macrossworld sure makes their overseas customers have a voice worth listening to Yamato. Without normal unsatisfied costumer “whining†there would probably still be sloppy shoulders on the VF-0 Yeah, the battying is getting out of hand. But the whole “poor Yamato†rants are also exaggerations.

Which doesn't speak very higly of Yamato. If you need a Macross fan to CONSTANTLY tell you that this part is that colour or that their toys break you are not very professional. Ok, lets do this by numbers: In the Yamato price battying thread it's been said that retail isn’t wholesale. Fine. $50-60%= $20 for the YF-19 FP -Well, the VF-1 fast packs would also be about $20... and they aren't 4 pieces of thin plastic, a tiny doll and a tube that lights up. -For $20 you can buy one of these for retail [attachmentid=40493] Yes, Toynamy suks, but these actually do something, aren’t from a big company and also target a small market. In wholesale they should be dirt cheap but people don't feel so cheated paying retail for them. - Their last three transforming toys have had designs fartups they could have avoided and most of the older Macross stuff also needed fixes in later releases. Don’t expect the unsatisfied costumers of the YF-19 to applaud Yamato now for charging so much for something they could have included in the package (those four thin pieces of plastic). -It’s a first release sooooo… well, it doesn’t transform so maybe there won’t be any problems. Maybe. Verdict: these things ARE expensive. Yamato is taking advantage of being the only maker of Macross toys, which is perfectly normal and I applaud them for it; but if they don't deliver quality products until the second or third release then they don't deserve any special treatment or unquestioned love from fans.

I agree in general with what most people are saying. We aren’t talking about how the toys look compared to the line art but about how someone f0cked up doing his job. A f*up that could have been avoided. And I’m not talking about the chinese slaves/ underpaid workers. These are design screw ups we are talking about. I want to buy new Yamato Macross products. But good thing I haven’t done so with the new releases. Why? Because Yamato has made pretty clear how they do business: Yamato first release = test sample at the expense of the buyer. I WAS going to get the VF-0S but the general impression made me wait. And the VF-0A HAS IMPROVED on the design and the Shin version will improve more). Prices are very close yet one is better than the other. Same thing with the YF-19. Prices aside… (well, not to much aside; the whole thin Fp+dildo priced as the meaty VF-1 FP is a slap on the face, a good way to make money but still a slap on the face); why bother buying a first release when the next one will be improved with better use of materials and corrected designs flaws? You can bet that in the future the YF-19 will have a locking mechanism for the upper torso. Good luck to those that can’t resist first releases. I’ll have a hard time resisting the SV-51 but in the long run I’ll be happier with my purchase. Wish Bandai started to make Macross stuff again. Competition between manufactures would give us better results than any king of protest or boycott.

Yep, in the worst case scenario I'll at least see some nice eye candy. And we are talking about a product that can be downloaded for free two days after if opens (or before). It’s not like you’ll be paying $150+ for a product that can loose an arm due to it being POM-less.

Rumor about MP Megatron: Source: Seibertron. http://www.seibertron.com/forums/viewtopic...613fc8c91426863 EDIT: Like the post says, it's just a rumor, but keep it in mind. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be true. Found in TFW2005 http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showpost.php...amp;postcount=1 Will it be true? Is this Takara's way of giving thanks to US supporters of the kiss line? Only time will tell.

Same cost as the strike/fast packs... which have a lot more parts and even internal detail... Cool, that means the dildo must have a perpetual motion engine to power it and the leg armour mass shifting to hide big ass missiles!!! Yamato should create a new logo/mascot for this kind of releases. A little cow being milked comes to mind. “The new Yamato 1/60 YF-19 Fast Packs & Fold Booster, milking cow approvedâ€

Hasn't anybody started building their VF-4 yet? Well, at least I don't feel so lazy now

Macross 25th Anniversary! New TV series coming!
Twoducks replied to wolfx's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I demand a SDF-1 chuck full of teens (and by that I mean not a single human older than 15). And we need panty jokes, bath house hijinks and angst... LOTS of angst Joking aside; any new macross, remake or side story, is welcomed. The original is pretty solid to stand any kind of watering down for a remake for the new generations. Hope they do more than just purty things and devote some time to actually doing a good story. M+ and Zero look beautiful but the stories are forgetable at best. -
Ooh, Ground Type Gundam, nice. Now please Bandai, remember 0080. That Zaku II Kai deserves the HCM-Pro treatment.

To those who know about TF toys: how big would the Blackout toy be approximately? Are there more detailed versions of him planned? -

Tripod... I mean Blackout looks great. You can even remove all the back kible. Really like the colour scheme... might pick him up. -
Arise dead Super Thread; arise and see the world again... Some fun at the expense of Marvel's Civil War (is that thing even over?). http://mightygodking.livejournal.com/292662.html#cutid1 BTW, don't have a clue about the current state of affairs in the marvel and DC universes. Anything worth a dime in superhero comics lately?

If Prime looks less chunky in real life I might get him; truck mode just looks great. Megs in robot form I like (don't care much for made-up alternate modes). The rest show that Hasbro/Takara are doing a nice job translating the complex designs into working toys. -

"Time to make a quick cash withdraw from the bank with the help of MP Megatron" Skinny legs but Megatron looks great nonetheless. Amazing how that robot turns into a real looking gun. Good thing they removed the P.38 thing to one of the shoulders to leave the decepticon logo on its own. Don’t care at all for guns though so I’ll get the tiny revoltech Megs (only have a tiny THS-02 Prime for him to fight anyways). BTW, any news on future THS’s from Takara? Last I saw they were making a black repaint of 02. -
That... was fast Thanks a lot Cyrhax! Time for the Lineart Wars but I like what I see (all that movement on the wings is fantastic but very break scary ). Looks like it isn't going to be coloured very dark, which I like. If Yamato had a better track record with first releases I would pic this scheme instead of waiting for the Nora. Love how the feet look.
