Transformer Starscream Masterpiece has arrived!
Twoducks replied to kentgh's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
If people want more cartoon accurate SS and don't care for the plane mode they can always get this much cheaper version (and it seems easy to repaint as any other of the seekers schemes): http://www.mwctoys.com/REVIEW_123002b.htm This and a Classics seeker could satisfy you if you don't like the MP mold (and you would still have money left to do other things). Ok, then I'm really happy that I went with a MW e-tailer stationed in JP. BTW, the HLJ stuff is shipped directly from Japan or from HK? -

They could explain it off saying the ring that was circling the planet was generating artificial gravity to keep everything in it's place so no mass would be lost on the way (like all the air, water, animals...). More mass = bigger impact = bigger chance of success... but that doesn't explain why the characters were so flat -

Jesus, for a toy nobody's forcing you to buy this mold is still really getting to you David... Here's anime scheme photoshopped into the old mold (plane mode): [attachmentid=37109] And in the new mold (minus arm padding and the hip kibble removed) [attachmentid=37110] *edit: this are fan made also (don't remember where I got them though)* MP SS next to Classics SS: http://www.tfans.com/talk/index.php?s=&...st&p=991310 And next to a whole bunch of TF stuff (and what looks like him rapping Classics Bumblebee): http://www.tfans.com/talk/index.php?s=&...st&p=991378 -

If you made MP SS 12" like MP Prime, jet mode would be probably around 16" long... making the thing more expensive (and the fighter too big; I find Yamato's 1/48 VF-1 fighter as big as I would be willing to display). -

[attachmentid=37105] Notice how the robot parts blend more with the airplane in the revised version. About the different bluish/greenish/greyish tones we see in the pics: Taken from here: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showpost.php...mp;postcount=89 Soooo, for you people that have it: What colour is MP SS under natural light? And under yellow light? And fluorescent? -
Transformable airplanes, how many?
Twoducks replied to do not disturb's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
How about the 1/60 PG or the 1/100 MG Z Gundam? Big, complex and it turns into a shuttle/airplane thinggy (you still have to build them though). http://old.rfdh.com/dal6102/pg/p04/p04_trans.htm Oooh, and for even weirder looking shuttles you have the two that form the upcoming SOC Gunbuster. -

Actually I was surprised Kawamori even did something; the original information listed him as in charge of Design Dupervision not as designer (to me that sounded like he could just sign a paper and get paid for it). Guess he had to put his own personal touch on something with his name. Now forgetting about the changes that made some people go bananas, there where other changes that made the figure look a lot better like: - The redesigning of the stomach area (which gives SS a waist line making him look less like a brick with arms and legs); something more show accurate. - The padding SS has on the sides of the intakes (which can come off) in the older mold were on the wings. Look at the second picture chowyunskinny posted, those “spikes†world have limited leg movement. More movement is more show accurate. -The wings are 100% better in the final version. Look how they now angle up now and how low they looked in the prototype. Again, something better looking and more show accurate. -Thanks to the arm padding and less chunky legs fighter mode doesn’t look like a robot under a plane shaped kite. The padding is not show accurate but helps in making a great looking show accurate alternate form. Colours scheme aside, SS benefited from these changes. The leg kibble can be taken off leaving him more show accurate. People should say they liked the legs of the prototype better, not all of it. Or that a mechanism should have been made that made the tailfin kibble shorter when stuck to the legs instead of the hips . -
Wow! Congrats, your panel lined VF-0A is awesome.

Far as I know they have the same face with different colours on it. MP SS face isn't a single piece; each face is molded separately and glued together so if they do other seeker repaints they could change the expressions and not have everyone with the neutral and smirk faces. -

We’ll probably see a Deluxe Anime MP SS or something before Hasbro gets to release their SS seeing as they have a lot of stuff going around, including the movie. There are some peg holes on the shoulders that would be perfect to stick some coronation shoulder pads and the head also has some holes on the sides that could be used to hold the crown in place. Prime gets re-released with the trailer so SS could be re-released with the coronation gear. [attachmentid=37023] [attachmentid=37024] More picks in this gallery: http://tformers.com/ig.php?mode=album&...598&start=0 The more I see the toy the more I want it, can't wait for mine to arrive. -
Nice! Really dig the final colours on this beauty. If Yamato doesn't do a VF-0D soon I'll definitely pick the 0A (I just love that head). Hey Sebastian, please posts anything you can comment about the MP SS on the "Transformer Starscream Masterpiece has arrived!" thread! We need more hands on reviews of it!

I really like the mold and the colours and was looking forward to receiving mi MP SS but hearing that the white paint is chipping off easily sure sucks (and here I was glad there wasn't much diecast...). And the QC issues I'm reading about don't make things better... I expected Takara to have better QC than Yamato. Guess you can only count on Bandai for first releases. Anyways, "the shoulder machine gun kibble is detachable" and another shot of the hip kibble moved to the legs: Taken from here: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showthread.p...ed=1#post843001 -

Seeing as I have a lot of deadlines at the moment I’ve done the logical thing: waste more time playing with the valk... I’ve taken the wrist piece out and used one of those twisty wires that hold cables to make a cheap peg to try out the MG hand without having to ruin it: [attachmentid=36943] As you can see, the hand fits perfectly in the arm. So in other words: Yamato please consider doing similar hands on your next projects, they can look a lot better this way.

The fight and the preparation for it where nice as well as the over the top super weapons (go Earth!) and homage attacks. But I agree with what others have said. The series leaches too much out of the original and ends up collapsing under all the leached material. It fails to be its own entity and ends up being a very pretty looking but average series (with some really nice fights here and there). The characters weren’t anything special whereas Noriko and company’s problems and sacrifices made you care for them. The whole psychological trauma Noriko must suffer due to all the jumps in Earth time… I liked the Buster Machines more than the humans in Top2. Nono: “Wow you are awesome I want to be your friend/slave!†Lark: “No! you are annoying†Nono: “Come ooooooon†Lark: “Well ok, you are fun in a retarted way†Nono: “Hey look, turns out I’m more awesome than you†Lark: “Crap I’m jealous; I need to be the dominant/cooler one in a relation†Nono: “My awesomeness is getting owned!†Lark: “That’s because you need my awesomeness too (neat, I’m the dominant/nonexpendable one again)†FIN -
Well, it does have the same wrist articulation the chicken hands have. You would loose the ball joint articulation if you trim it down to plug into the valk arms, but nothing more (or you could put a polycap in there to make use of the ball end and thus have more movement... but that's more work). And to Scream Man: don't have a VF-0, but I can tell you that a MG hand is about 0.5 inches wide when in close hand position. About 0.5 inches high not counting the peg that sticks out of it. Don’t know if that helps you in figuring out if it would screw the transformation process. Yamato, upgrade hands NOW!

The removable looking ball jointed hip kibble that some people didn't like... well, it's removable and able to attach to the feet (to look close to the original prototype). Taken from here: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/showpost.php...p;postcount=167 More pics here: http://tformers.com/ig.php?mode=album&...800&start=0 Now, with all the different grey tones this thing has sported, I can only guess that SS has a hidden "magic" gimmick: he changes colour with hot and cold water!!!!! (in a clear homage to all those old toys that used said gimmick). Trully an awesome toy that homages everything. -

Or put in a less sensationalistic way: some of the comments on the Japanese page (where the greenish SS pic was posted) when translated using one of those online headache inducing translation pages sounded unhappy to the user that put the pic in tfw2005.com. The whole Kawamori thing is in just one message, nothing more: "In the future we want the river Mori (Kawamori - babel fish is funny that way) person removing from development." Another user (who is from Kobe, Japan, according to his profile) in that forum says this: His post Using google I also see the “river Mori person removing from development†message, but that is the only reference to Kawamori apart from the opening comment. Most of what is "translated" I can't undestand. Original page Translated using google -

WOOHOO!! (thanks for the info) Finally -
www.dalong.net might help, they have tons of pics of a lot of Gundam kits and scans of the instruction manuals. Here. You would need only the "K" sprue and two pieces of the "B" sprue of the 1/100 MG Gundam MKII ver.2.0; pieces 7, 9, 12, 14 and 16 from the "K" sprue and piece 11 from the "B" sprue to make the right hand. For the left hand 8,10,11,13 and 15 from "K" and B12. The 1/100 MG Gundam Ver. O.Y.W 0079 (PS2 game color) is even better; you only need one sprue: "E". From E29 to E39. See here and here.

You can order Bandai kit parts from here http://www.rainbowten.co.jp/. I've bough a lot from this guys and they have great service... but it might be expensive (haven't read the details on how to order parts). If you look for used Gundam kits in Ebay or in the For sale section, try to get MG released since the Gundam Version 2.0. Their hands come with two moving fingers and a block of three that you can be cut to let them move individually like I did; on older MG kits you can't do that.

Ten years already!! Mario 64... one of the best games EVER IMO. The experience of years playing 2D games and then jumping to Mario 64 was priceless. The SNES still ranks as king in my book but I had a great time with this system. Now Robotech: Crystal Dreams was one of the must have game in my list. The videos of the game now look like puke but I would have forked the money happily had it been released.
-
I second that. Come on Yamato, a pair of gummy hands can't be that expensive... Following Kensei's idea, I've compared a MG hand from de 1/100 MKII Gundam V2.0 and it looks a whole lot better. Each finger can move individually and the hand can still fit inside the arm for a perfect transformation. Wish Yamato would finally upgrade their hands and do something similar to the Bandai ones. (I didn't plug in the hand because it needed trimming to fit... and I still want that hand in my Gundam kit) *edit spelling*
