Just awesome. The SV-51 is one imposing valk. Can't wait for the rest of the modes.

Macross 25th Anniversary and upcoming new TV series thread
Twoducks replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
You forgot the flashback episode needed for everyone to remember what the pilots are reminiscing about. Without a flashback episode sandwiched in between it just sounds incomplete. 2009... Ok... Guess I'll be seeing a Robotech movie before I get more Macross... -
Here's one (but only in bot mode only): Found here

How's the transformation of this bird? More complex than the YF-19? From the pics, it looks very straightforward but I thought the same abaout the YF-19 and Graham's video sure showed me otherwise.

LIVE ACTION ROBOTECH (WB gets the rights)

Now I need to see Robot Jox (I think I did as a kid...). Stop motion robot cheese at its finest. I say screw CG. Build them in real life and have a legion of puppeteers move them around: -
I'm really liking Downey's witty Stark.

CAD drawings always suck IMO. Too bad this wasn't like the SV-51 where Yamato skipped the ugly CAD and gave us gorgeus pics of all three modes right from the start. Guess the bit by bit of information method builds more expectations.

The VF-1J is my absolute favourite valk. To me that one is the iconic one (it's in the freaking intro god damn it!). Get the TV fast packs if you can, you wont regret it.

The Yf-19's visor should be clear red (like the nose) or some other colour . Transparent just doesn't seem right.

And this is just the beginning BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Someone was asking for a Rick Maguire? Found this (sorry, no hair showing but the huge helmet can give you an idea). -

I thought the thread would at least degrade into more funny photoshoped memes of spider valks and kitties instead of just the usual battying about Robotech. Sometimes I wonder if they give you special points in MW for overreactive battying. Can you trade them off for Yamato valks? I mean, if this already had a budged of a measly 50 million I would see a reason for pessimism. -
If the guys at Wizard Entertainment continue doing their "top something" lists like they did in the Wizard magazine, you can expect plenty of weird and one sided editorial picks.

*Inset god* bless Transformers the Movie for opening up the way for more robot goodness. Even if the story is meh we can expect some delicious eye candy from WB. -

This thread is going to be fun I know HG would get ass raped if they did any valks (right?), but can they do the Macross story? It's pretty similar to SDF M *edit* No mention of Minmay in the plot sumary? Even Robotech had that as an important part of the story. -
The Getter Dragon image I got it from the sgcollect.com forums a few moths ago. The other ones just poped up when I was searching to see if it was "Dr" or "Mr" Robo when I was writing my last post. Nice surprise I say Hope Mr. Robo's familiy gets a compensation for those designs. Fewture has material to make a lot of chogokins (even though it kinda worries me that all of them are variations of Getter one... maybe he didn't dot any variations of Getter 2 ) I just wonder how cool a Getter Ligar would look. Very nice to hear that
-
You can say that again! I really don't know if I should wait for a rerelease (come on Fewture! At least put out a metallic grey version if you don't want to piss of the collectors) or bite the bullet before they get even more expensive (how's getter 2 compared to the others?). I could also wait and see if they do the other Getters. At least the late Mr. Robo left some more designs based on Getter 1: I don't know if these are his too (but I thing I see his signature and they all share common elements Found here http://gettermario.dynamicforum.net/277042...NING-t684-0.htm

QFT I still love the fluff and have a lot of conversions still pending but Warmachine is another whole story. In seven years I've played about eight W40k games whereas with Warmachine my friends and I can fit one or two games a week. Simple rules that open up a lot of different strategies... and the games are quick. Besides, if the new trend is to make watered down Codexes like the new Codex: Chaos Space Marines count me out. It’s a throwback to the crappy first book of the 3rd edition. The current one at least has a lot of character compared to the new one’s legionless, specific daemonless offering. *edit* I do chaos. My main force is a Thousand Sons list with a different colour scheme (light blue, green, gold). I also have other units painted/converted for other chaos legions.

Now those are "buns of steel" Getter 2 is trying to seduce me, but what is this I hear about torso problems?
-
Oooooooooh, Source please! And the small cyclone is the tiny tiny one we've already seen?

Thanks for the info mpchi . One thing: How's the leg movement on Prime? Do the knee joints have a lot of freedom? All the pics I've seen of Prime have him with little or no crouching poses (maybe it's just a balance issue).
-
Can't... resist urge... to get Leader Prime and paint it Great job you've done on your TFs, mpchi! Ok, since Spanish stores have even less Movie TF than the rest of the world (and boy are they choking on Spiderman and Pirates crap for that), I'll have to go to EvilBay for my movie fix. Three questions: - I've seen there's a special bundle of leader prime and a mini Jazz and Bumblebee: does that Prime have any fixes or is it the same as the normal one? - Any difference between the Takara and Hasbro versions (better colour aplications...)? - From what mpchi says, Prime is $40 in retail on the US, right?

Macross 25th Anniversary and upcoming new TV series thread
Twoducks replied to azrael's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Well, the idea of a new Macross was all I needed to finally continue the series. I'm now on ep 39 and enjoying the show, even if Frontier ends up not having anything to do with M7. Try watching it up until ep 12. If by then, with more SDF Macross references flying around in the show, you can't stand it, drop it. At least it will make the wait for the new series shorter -
I second that. This is MW (aka "battying world"), we sure need at least the crying one

How hard is it to move the metal pin in a hinge? I've never been able to move them in other toys (afraid of forcing them to much). How's the posabiliy of the SV-51? Same as the 1/48? BTW, those Toysdaily emoticons sure are cute
-
Swoosh, your pics are awesome! The wings not supporting all that weight 100% straight is kinda meh... but that is one beautifull bird, so who cares. And Graham didn't have a pre-release sample That sucks, now we'll have to wait for his review (and I think he likes to take the time to do them right and not rushed).
