Well, there's a lot of head scratching going on but a compartment with weapons for the pilots sounds fun. Still... seems like he's coming up with ways to make this toy unreasonably expensive instead of just scratching the existing itch at a reasonable price point.

If anyone is planning on grabbing this from HLJ when it goes up, I would be much obliged if you would head there using my URL: https://www.hlj.com/?utm_medium=affiliate&utm_source=scorchedearthtoys And I can't wait to review this!

He's looking at the product he already spent the money on
-
I don't think it feels 'suspicious' but I don't think it makes sense either. STEP 1: Deliver on the products you've already accepted POs for. It doesn't even have to be all of them but it at least has to be MOST of them. The PO to delivery cycle is way out of whack right now. STEP 2: Choose ONE product and do a Kickstarter for it. Start with low hanging fruit. Do a Kickstarter for a weathering version of the Battlepod or a Kickstarter exclusive color variant to pay for the costs of that toy and earn some profit to apply to other things they want to do. STEP 3: After creating a track record of success, do a Kickstarter for an item that will only be made if there's enough interest. A low target item could be some alternate Zentraedi pilot figures. STEP 4: With a couple successful Kickstarters done and all the POs delivered at this point, do a big Kickstarter for the Officer's Pod without a pilot. STEP 5: If that Kickstarter is successful, give us an armored pilot figure Kickstarter. If it's not successful, try the scout pod with hopefully a lower target since some of the engineering from the standard pod carries over. Pairing a huge target for many items with a huge backlog of undelivered promises is a terrible strategy. For a single item... I would have been tempted to contribute... but I have preorders for all the GBP iterations and the two battlepod variants so I might still have waited until I at least had the battlepod variants to contribute any more funds. With how this is set up? Not a chance. I do look forward to more of their products but I'm not in the market of giving out open-ended 0% loans.

While I would throw my vote for a lavender color over the more red of this prototype, I also don't have a hard time imagining that different Zentraedi war groups would have different color armor so this could be a valid paint scheme for some group. I'm curious how hard it's going to be to squeeze this figure in... that cockpit is not roomy.

C'mon, you gotta throw a NSFW on a pic like that!

It's definitely the right tray because that's the one with all the TV style hands. Would like to see the other tray also to see how they included the missiles. It's funny, they actually reduced the amount of contents in the first tray since it used to be three sets of DYRL hands and then one set of R TV gun holding and L TV open hand. Basically, we get one less set of hands. Contents aside, looks like the toy is the same ol' VF-1J Hikaru.

This has disaster written all over it.

Is that recent or dredging up long forgotten hopes?

What a let down!

Maybe they're busy designing the toys for the new show.
-
Maybe have a pivot point toward the back lower end of the wing so that part could swing out toward the edge of the wing for high speed mode.
-
I think the pics are overexposed a little because it looks much worse for the matte finish.

I will reserve judgement for the time being but that sounds... Curious. He should be worried about what threezero might do while he delays.

I'm sure it will drop significantly in a few weeks, that's what happened to the 50th scheme.

Usually this is an 'in the store only' sort of thing.

This is why it's so crazy to me. First Kickstarter should just be the March items. Then he should do the next... Then the next. If a set doesn't make it's individual target, he should move onto the next item and not make that item. Having it all blended into one Kickstarter is tough. He's basically competing with himself here.

What toy would be first? When would it be made? What if I only want an officers pod? Am I going to have to wait until a bunch of the other items get made? That might be years from now.

I'm sure if I were going to support it, I would be at $400 at least... But I don't understand how it would work still so I'm sitting it out. Also want to see them ship the GBPs first so I don't already have so much money tied up in their pre-orders.

In the movie there are four TCs that attack the base so you can call it generic but it's intended to be one of the four main characters and you can determine which one by which weapons you install since they had slightly different load outs. I guess that's kinda generic but Chirico/Gregore/Murza/Byman is more accurate.

I didn't get around to doing a HMR review, I went to do one only to realize I never did a dual model review so I spent a few weeks getting that done instead. I probably won't get a proper HMR review up until the round mover version comes out. I have a big backlog of other toys to get through first and not a ton of time to work on them.
