Mine arrived from HLJ and I too have the crooked head fin.

Don't we have pictures in this thread of it removed? Bandai is going to burn money with this approach.
-
It's very hard to imagine that though right? Much easier to imagine it is getting banged after the fact. At least with the volume this is happening, Bandai will definitely research it.

Really wish there was a basic version without a cockpit or lights... Extra weight and expense... I'd rather own three cheap battlepods instead on one expensive one... Or the cheap AND one expensive one.

The plates should have openings that slide closed and the guns should mount to the legs. This would also help with the 22. The guns could also be designed to collapse more.

LOL, it's almost certainly the shape of the blister the toy is packed in: if pressure is applied on the left side the blister is better supported, if pressure is applied on the right side the blister gives and the fin gets crushed. Though not exaclty the same, that's also how the YF-19 lasers broke... the blister would give if the box took a shock during shipping and snap the laser.

Wow, looking good so far!

Thanks for posting that! Man, CM's toys were so awful when it came to durability. I have a huge box of these Votoms toys but I've only handled the Scopedog and I was appalled at the quality. Sorry I didn't catch your comment earlier tekering, I appreciate the words of encouragement!

I've always enjoyed the Tread (and still have my fingers crossed for the Sentinel). It just looks like it can take a punch (and deliver one). The only thing that kept it from being one of my favorites was how clunky it looked without the Legioss in bomber mode. If it were redesigned more in the vein of a B2 bomber (which debuted like 6 years after Mospeada was made), that could have been epic.

Easy mistake since he did so many of the iconic Mecha, including the Legioss. The Tread was a late addition to appease the sponsor. I wonder if the Legioss design might have been a little different if it was planned from the beginning to have a Tread.

Aramaki Shinji didn't design the Tread so that'd be an odd way to build hype.

Yes, largely the DX is the better engineered toy but it has a couple glaring deficiencies that might make people prefer the Yamato V2. Like the ThreeZero from JVMacross' report, the DX has insufficient tabs that go into the elbows to hold the arms up in fighter mode, but on the DX it's mostly just a problem if you're using Super Parts. The DX also has the controversial disconnecting piece in the swing arm that, when used, enables a full waist. It drives me nuts because it usually causes my toy to become two separate parts during transformation which can actually be quite dangerours for the toy if you're trying to transform it standing up instead of sitting and holding it in your lap. I also think 1/48 scale is rubbish but that's not really an engineering issue.

Lol, where there's a will, there's a way, but I suspect it would be significant effort and compromises. Arcadia should swoop in and show Bandai what's up with a Yammy V2.

It's the pressure to get things online ASAP to grab the biggest audience.

Can't wait for the renewal version.

I'm totally going to put them on backwards when I get this toy and shoot my review.

Generally, 8-12 weeks after release. Sometimes it's quicker, sometimes later.

At this point, the Tread appears to have become vaporware.

I floated the idea back in the day when Yamato was wrestling with releasing their 1/60 Regult, but I really wish these companies would do one of two things: 1) Offer a 'base model' regult with no internals. This version would be lighter so you could expect the joints to last longer and sell cheaper for army building. Then, offer an 'appendix' that includes a pilot figure and internals that could be added ot the base model. A scout conversion kit could also be sold as an appendix. 2) Offer a base model and a 'premium model' that includes the internals and pilot. For KC, the articulated Zentraedi soldier really should be an element sold separately. It would be easy for them to offload them as part of sales/incentives with their VF-1 toys and they could probably make a few colors and sell them individually for $19.99.

Genesis Climber Mospeda is coming to Crunchyroll
jenius replied to MrLupin's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
This whole thread should slide into the other Mospeada thread. -
Yes on the stand adapter. I'm posting a review this weekend and I mention it.

That pilot definitely doesn't fit in that cockpit.

I assumed Echoes of Wisdom would be from the studio that did Link's Awakening but apparently it'sjust done in the same art style... I think my daughter is going to love making me play it.

That backpack grows every time I look at it. I really look forward to handling the toy so I can understand how this is what we ended up with. It's hard to believe a few more hinges wouldn't have made it so everything got smaller and fit tighter to the chest.

I'm sure it will be available on Mandarake regularly.
