It seems that batch 1 of the VF-1S Fokker, released 12/14, was distributed only to folks in Hong Kong. They have delayed the larger distribution a few weeks to make a change of some sort. What they can possibly change in a few week delay, I have no idea... unless it's an issue with the packaging or instructions.

I wish the realities of manufacturing toys would allow a company like this to do a small batch run of a less popular paint scheme to work out all the kinks. That way, the first VF-1 paint scheme would always be something like an Alaska Base or Hayao or something, only the super diehards would buy it and give feedback, and then the Fokker or Hunter could follow a few months later with all the tweaks employed.

Sounds like an excuse to buy a second one!

The Transformers Thread (licensed) Next

I kinda like the idea of having a "then and now" display so I may pick up G1 reissues of toys I have the MP of. I still have some of my childhood G1 toys but they don't really work as display pieces.- 17172 replies

Why does Rick have guns? Is that from his training montage?

To be fair, this was a brand new mold and a lot of problems like this stem from assembly rather than design. The factory workers figure out quicker ways, use different tools, or apply pressure beyond spec, etc.

I still want the SD GBP! They seem like they're being pretty ambitious as it is though.

1/35 isn't very large, that's the same as the Wave scale and the Wave looks pretty good also. Yamato was big at 1/24. My only threezero toy is the scopedog and I find their joint engineering rather dubious.

MOSPEADA Inbit Revival Part III: Gamo doppleganger?
jenius replied to captain america's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hmm, maybe a better done as a "remove the waist down" install. Amazing. Thanks for showing it! (and sorry for quick thread derail) -
They said on Facebook that they are expecting to get some on the 14th, it would take 1-2 days to prepare shipment, and then it would take 7 - 14 days for delivery. They also said that the bulk of the toys won't be delivered until the 21st. So, extrapolating another 1-2 days and 7-14 days, it sounds like most people in the US won't be receiving these toys until the EXACT SAME DAY they get their Bandai DX VF-1 toys. CHAOS!

MOSPEADA Inbit Revival Part III: Gamo doppleganger?
jenius replied to captain america's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Holy Fook! That's a big GERWALK. Can a CMs figure fit in the cockpit? -
That echoes what I heard back from Sentinel, they tried to adjust the tolerances on the ball joints to make them a little more snug, specifically mentioning the neck and foot flaps but also "other parts" which is probably the shoulder armors. It also sounds like we'll get to see a Legioss 2.0 at the next Wonderfest if all goes well...

Well, at 1/48 it will be roughly the same size as your other 1/60 scale valks (0, 19, 22 etc.) since the VF-1 is so small... I don't think you need to worry about this being a new scale for anything but VF-1 toys as the dx size works perfect for 1/60 for everything else.
-
People are going to buy like 8 sets, then Bandai will kill the line after three valks in favor of a new 1/60 mold. It will be chaos!
-
Man, it's TWE? Bummer! Looks not valk specific at least but that might make it hard to order as people will want more than one.

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
jenius replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
Isn't it the opposite? Walkure is popular so they're going to milk this gravy train a bit longer.... -
I asked someone at Sentinel so I could determine if I needed to do an updated review, I'll let you know what I hear back. I suspect they made it so the head ball joint is tighter but I doubt anything else changed.

Seriously, it made me so sad that those awful movies made so much money. Every time I got my hopes up for change they were dashed by billion dollar box offices. Glad to see things have finally taken a step in the right direction.

There are only the three OVAs that seem to make sense as being part of this bundle and if they're included i'll probably pick it up: Big Battle The Last Red Shoulder Roots of Ambition I have the ammo can version of the DVDs (which I adore) but they don't include the OVAs, I got them elsewhere but I'm guessing the quality would be higher here. I wonder if these compilation movies are clip show 'episodes' to get viewers who hadn't seen the first X episodes up to speed?
