  1. Mine is in Anchorage... Why???? FedEx, you so crazy. EMS usually goes straight to SF.
  2. Bandai teased the Chuck release recently so I don't think we'll need to rely on the KO market. I'm guessing 2019 will have a Macross release every month between the DX VF-1, HMR, and Delta.
  3. I'll play with the cables. Would the 30-40MB/s be the expected result if it was a USB 2.0 cable?
  4. Affirmative, I was using a 95MB/s SD card prior to this new one that had the same observable transfer rates... I was hoping to see an improvement when I moved to the newer card.
  5. Ah, another variable! I have been writing to this drive: Firecuda 2GB (came over from my old machine) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IEKG2HM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I just tried pasting instead to the "My Documents" folder which I believe should be on my boot drive which is a Samsung 960 EVO NVME. Still bouncing between 30 and 40MB/s.
  6. I can only speculate but I don't think we'll see a Hikaru 1J re-release any time soon (at least a year) and I think they'd be much more likely to do another TWE reissue rather than create a retail bundle. We are in new territory though since they're going TWE on items that aren't valk specific this time around. I would think the following VF-1 toys will be released before we get back to Hikaru's 1J: VF-1S Focker VF-1S Hikaru VF-1A Hikaru Sprinkle in releases of fast packs and maybe a GBP and it may take a while to revisit the 1J. It's possible that the non 1J toys will come with missiles, like maybe just the DYRL style missiles since those are all DYRL releases. Bandai's strategy here is definitely... interesting.
  7. Bigger than a Yammy 1/48? Insert Joey Lawerence saying WHOA!
  8. Sorry, I just goofed on capitalization there. It should be 200MB/s. Here are links to the three relevant pieces of hardware involved (the cable being used was supplied with the card reader so it shouldn't be the issue): https://www.amazon.com/ProGrade-Digital-Dual-Slot-Reader-CFast/dp/B07BTNX82Y/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1546106078&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=prograde+card+reader&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079NPZLDR/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-X399-Designare-EX-Motherboard/dp/B07662S766/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1546106202&sr=1-1&keywords=gigabyte+x399+designare+ex My next experiment is going to be to use a USBA to C cable and try using the red 3.1 connection and see if that changes anything. After that, I'll move on and try a 3.0 connection.
  9. He meant 31J.... allegedly, it's (the DX) getting the KO treatment.
  10. Hey guys, I'm fishing for help with an issue I'm having on my main workstation. I have a USB-C card reader connected to the USB-C port on the back of an X399 Designare motherboard. Theoretically, this should allow really snappy transfer rates. The card reader is pricey, states it needs no special drivers, and there are plenty of Amazon reviews documenting blazing fast transfer speeds. I have an SD memory card from my camera that is UHSII and states transfer rates of up to 200mb/s. My transfer rates for my 4K videos are pretty consistently 40mb/s. I've checked the drivers, everything says it's current. I tried plugging into the USB-C port in my graphics card and got the same results. I find it hard to believe it's a problem with the chipset on the Deisgnare because I don't see complaints online. I'm stumped. Any suggestions?
  11. Hayao's a bit tougher to come by but you see TV Max available fairly often. Obviously they've held their value a lot better than most other 1/48 toys since they were Macross Chronicles mail-order toys but they weren't terribly hard to get.

I've gotten some HUGE boxes from Japan, never had an issue with customs. No guarantees of course... I've had smaller boxes get absolutely thrashed by customs. I don't think the size will increase the odds of issues.

That's Mrs. Jenius' review! She was just saying she wants to get back in front of the camera. HLJ actually gives you all the info you need in their item description: Item Size/Weight: 30.2cm x 30.0cm x 27.1cm / 2290g If I were you, I would buy it online and ship it. Even if you could fit it in the suitcase, lugging that thing around would be a chore since it's like a perfect cube.

Shipping AND storing the beast are brutal but agreed, totally worth it. I love my Monster.
  15. This has been explained already. NY charges far more than actual shipping so when they ask for more, it seems unjust. Other retailers, who charge amounts based on reality, get understanding when they guess wrong on packaging dimensions and have to charge actual shipping costs.
  16. I believe all of these things will be revealed at winter wonder festival in February.
  17. CDJapan just hit me with an upcharge on shipping. I should have bought that Amazon one when I had the chance! Not CDJ's fault I guess, basically it's too big for their SAL shipping guideline so I have to go EMS. :/
  18. Maybe Bandai is thinking about two seaters....
  19. Where did you grab the organic figures? That's about what I was hoping to pay also.

There was the poll for next release that the Monster won. There are still lots of items from that poll that haven't been made but we keep inching forward.
  21. I think more available would have helped.
  22. The super silly thing about this is that Arcadia seemed to tease a new stand recently and you have to imagine that new stand would cost about the same amount.
  23. Sorry guys, it was only available for a few minutes from Amazon before reverting to a market listing.
  24. Amazon.jp fixed the glitch! IF you need one go get you some!!!! https://www.amazon.co.jp/超時空要塞マクロス-約300mm-ファイター時-ダイキャスト-塗装済み可動フィギュア/dp/B07FVSX5BL/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1545983212&sr=8-1&keywords=VF-1
  25. Up on Amazon.jp but apparently no US shipping....
