I'm guessing last week of December. It will arrive right when I go back to work... Not during vacation because that would be too convenient.

The qc is a crapshoot, if you got a good one, at that price, it might seem almost reasonable. If you got a bad one, obviously not. The sentinel seems like it will be significantly smaller, and possibly a bit reinterpreted, so might be different enough that you wouldn't feel it's a perfect substitute. Wish I paid that price for mine!

Blue alpha instructions (and Aoshima instructions) are up. I'm afraid it looks like i didn't scan the instructions for each Alpha release. I don't have Beta instructions scanned yet and those toys are buried in storage so maybe someone else can help out there... http://anymoo6n.com/blog/?p=20

I think I have scans of at least the blue alpha and beta. I'll confirm and post them on anymoon and post the link here when I have.

Super helpful! I think I'll try with the original ball joints to start and see if I can get a less permanent fix since I just need things to behave for a photos hoot or two.

I'm with you, and I'm shocked as I usually go through CDJ because they usually don't have shipping shenanigans.

There are reasons that those pictures don't really exist. Gerwalk tends to look just like fighter with bits of the arms and feet showing (except at varying angles depending on how the person poses it) and battroid mode would look like looking down at a person's head obviously... not an exciting shot. What is it you're going to be using these pics for? Maybe if you can get people excited about the project they'd be willing to take some pics of toys they already have out on display.

Unfortunately, I never received anything related to shipping and their website just lists that it was shipped using expedited shipping so I can't tell you when it went in the mail. Hopefully as they mature as a company they get an upgraded website.

Mine arrived... haven't had the chance to open the box yet though. I never did get tracking of any sort so I'm glad it showed

It takes about 30 seconds to loosen the screws. I don't really understand why you wouldn't, honestly. It makes the toy a lot more fun to handle and a lot less stresfful.

ah, good call on HLJ, I can throw them in with the next shipment. Looks like those are cut to fit so it should work out for all my rod requirements. If you are able to track down other parts I should get, let me know!

Thanks for the feedback! I didn't see anything molded wrong on my vertical stabilizers but even without an obvious flaw, they pop off easy and are annoying. If they don't stay on at all for some people that's obviously a much bigger problem. On the arm cannon, I think I was able to get it to sit flush but it certainly doesn't lock in well and lifting the door on top of it pops it off very easily. Certainly not ideal. The arm itself is curved while the base of the cannon is perfectly flat so maybe that's the element that's causing it to not really lock in securely. Bummer I missed the extension of the cannon barrel and thanks for letting me know.. At 42 minutes, if I only screwed up one thing, I'm going to consider it a win... while I love toys with lots of accessories it makes the reviews a total pain . I'll sneak in an update to the web article to at least cover it properly there.

I'm not sure I fully understand the instructions just yet but it looks like I only need 2 1.5 12mm and 2 1.5 4mm to complete them. I think everything else kind of pegs together. So I'm guessing buying online would net me way more than I want for more than I need to spend. I'm guessing Home Depot wouldn't have this stuff?

So like Michael's would have them?

So I got one of these kits and it came with little screws and washers so I was like YAY, i don't have to find those items.... Unfortunately, the screws and washers don't appear anywhere on the instructions and it seems like I need to get rods (1.5, 4mm and 1.5 12mm). Anybody know the best way to source those? Anyone who has built these remember needing a bunch of tiny screws and washers?

Thanks, I brought it back to fighter last night. That slider is definitely stiffer on my YF-19. I eye-balled it to see if it looked like the issue and it looked extended correctly but I could see where it might have still had the tiniest bit left to go . I plan on transforming it a couple times over the next few days and shooting the Battroid back to fighter video and if I do solve the issue I'll leave comments everywhere.

I literally just got done posting my review on anymoon.com, check it out! Even includes like 42 minutes of a 4K review.

Ya know, I don't know Sentinel too well, do they do a lot of exclusives? It seems like perfect exclusive fodder.

Nah, the 19Advance was a regular release. Bandai is a busy company... it takes a lot to push them to do a re-issue... that was one of the benefits of having a smaller company like Yamato doing Macross.

Seems a pretty unfounded fear. I believe you're thinking of the VF100 line. Since the VF-19Kai, the Hi-Metal have had pretty minimal parts swapping. I think a DX toy could be absolutely glorious, especially if they included a pivot point at the shoulder pauldron, At the HMR scale, my expectations are quite a bit lower but I'm not too concerned about excess partforming. The VF-2SS has some really inventive mechanisms... no reason to think this won't also.

I just think the mentor angle helps solidify the claim of being very skilled. Sure, people might gravitate to the dark side (or just be kinda douchey) without the Jedi scooping them up and hammering them with discipline but to be a truly malignant threat (a good movie bad guy) they would still need someone to train them in using the force. So, a movie where Kylo just wakes up one morning and narrowly avoids being killed by Luke so he decides he's evil now wouldn't have the same cache'. That said, the audience might just conclude his training under Luke, while not specifically dark, was enough to make him a super skilled force user. Soooo, maybe it all just works out fine without Snoke.... I'm sure the audience would find a reason to hate that too though :):

In 2 weeks... all will be known... Okay, looking at it again, I think the cryptic line is just another tease of an HMR VF-4. Following the 19 and the 1, in a line that has the R... Maybe this is just me trying to keep my hopes down.
