  1. If the choice is between two toys i eventually get both anyways unless one gets really terrible reviews. Exactly what Yamato VF are you looking at ? There are a lot of 1/60 Yamatos. VF-0's, VF-1's, VF-11's, YF-19's, YF-21's, VF-22's, SV-51's.... Might help to know which one specifically so i might or might not recommend it. The YF-21 and SV-51 are probably best matched against the DX because they all come with display stands and all the gizmo's and gadgets like booster's, FP's and weapons. The 21 and 51 also have pretty much rock solid QC with very few problems and complaints. The VF-11 is fantastic too, but alittle overpriced for the size and what you get. Best value for money i guess is one of those new 1/60 VF-1's with super and strike pack combos.

    YAMATO

There are those that like to display their toys and rarely play with them and those that play with them alot. Both obviously have different needs and wants from a toy. Hey maybe Bandai and Yamato should join forces, Yamato designs the VF's and Bandai builds them. That way you get the best of both worlds. Fantastic looking VF's with rock solid QC!

    YAMATO

I am mostly a display oriented collector and i display my toys rather then constantly play with them. So looks is probably the most important thing to me. And in that department Yamato delivers 200% atleast for me. I can easily fix a couple of qc issues (Not that i have had many of them) but i can't really fix an ugly design (Bandai DX VF-25) I own one DX VF-25 and everytime i watch it without the armor i just gets so irritated over how ugly and hideous Bandai designed it in all modes so i can easily live with a few qc issues if it means it looks great. I also have great respect for all the advanced engineering Yamato have put into some of its VF's (PT heatshield on VF-11 to name one example). All i can really say is Yamato is not for everyone, but it is for me.
  4. Is it safe to put the armored on the stand in Battroid mode ? The attachment looks so weak on such a big and heavy toy that im afraid it will snap or detach and the whole thing comes crashing down. It should have come with some sort of support for the backback when its on the stand. Also mine can't stand on its own in full armor. The crotch connector keeps snapping off and it splits in half and falls over. The knee armor is also very loose and floppy, i can't keep them up and it looks kinda stupid in fightermode cause they just hang down like that. I might figure out a way to put some glue or something there to make them harder to move.
  5. Only time i have been really pissed off with a toy purchase was when the damn package never arrived......and boy was i pissed off.
  6. You can say alot about Yamato but saying that they don't care about Macross is just plain wrong. Yamato makes one of the best looking VF toys out there and they care a hell of a lot more about Macross then Bandai does. Yes they are not masters of QC (Though i have never had a single problem what so ever with any of mine) but they are improving and the YF-21 atleast mine is completely rock solid stable and i have never heard anyone had any problems with that in the past, though i can understand that you don't want a $200 toy to fall apart. Never had any problems with Bandai toys either for that matter....transformers on the other hand have been hit and miss for me including an MP Megatron that was broken right out of the box. Now that's $200 out of the window. As for the fastpacks, they are a little tricky to put on but i found them to be alot easier to put on then the armored pack for the DX VF-25 for example. Sounds like this is part user-error rather then completely a fault on the toy side. If a shoulder explodes then thats another story....
  7. So they can make the VF-19 perfect transformation in 1/100 but not the VF-25 ? The VF-25 doesn't have any more complex transformation then the 19 infact the transformation of the two are pretty similar.
  8. Could anyone please tell me where the extra neck piece for the armored VF-25S is located in the box ? I can't find it anywhere!
  9. Wow the VF-19 looks fantastic. Finally a Bandai Macross toy that actually looks good for a change. And with minimal parts swapping too. Still the angle we see the fightermode in may hide a lot of uglyness so i need more side views before i make up my mind completely. Being a partsformer i judge this much harder then a PT toy in terms of accuracy.
  10. God damnit, i want a VF-0D already! And VF-11C with Protect armor!
  11. How long is the DX ghost compared to the 1/72 model version ? Also if someone have both, could you post a comparison pic between the DX Ghost and the Yamato M. Zero Ghost fighter/booster please ?
  12. Something set between 2012 and the Macross Plus era. Such a large gap exists that could be filled with lots of interesting stories and other goodies. I'd love to see a show set onboard a Megaroad ship. Its our first step into the unknown and it could be alittle like Star Trek in a way with focus on exploration and meeting new and unique species. To boldly go where no man has gone before......macross style
  13. Don't like the show so much but i do love the VF's specially the VF-22S, VF19's, VF-17's and VF-11's.
  14. The VF-19 looks good, but being a partsformer i expect it to look perfect in all modes and i'll reserve judgement until i have seen the fightermode and gerwalk too. Partsformer toys have zero excuse for not making it look as accurate and good as possible. And Bandai tend to overlook Gerwalk mode which mostly ends up being a halfassed creation.
  15. No contest, get the VF-11.
  16. SDFM version: http://www.new-un-spacy.com/sdfmacross/var...lia-fighter.gif M7 version: http://www.new-un-spacy.com/macross7/vf-1j...lia-fighter.gif
  17. He didn't transform it right, its still there.
  18. They should make the M7 version of Miriya's VF-1J too.
  19. Well if they can make the VT-1 and VE-1 which are rather different from the standard VF-1 i see no problem in them making these. Those boosters reminds me of the atmospheric fastpacks on the VF-11C for some reason.
  20. I guess im one of the very few that have never had any problem with a yamato product. I have 11 Yamato VF's and none have ever been broken or damaged and i do transform them pretty often. Only problem i had was the somewhat floppy wings on Ivanov's SV-51 and thats all. So i can't say i understand all this but i do respect that people want the best when they pay so much. For me though Yamato is more of a display toy or as i like to call them finished pre-built models. Though i do transform them i mainly display my VF's don't play with them so much so for me looks is the most important thing and i could live with a few QC issues if it meant it still looked great in my opinion. This is why i didn't get the Bandai DX, its sturdy as hell but for me it simply doesn't look any good and its not something i want displayed on my shelf. That being said i have never had a problem with Bandai toys either, they are prefect in terms of build quality. Transformers toys on the other hand, oh man have i had problems. Classics Astrotrain fell apart the moment i took him out of the box. Half of my animated toys have cracked and even MP Skywarp have pieces falling off all the time. And most of the larger TF toys are just one big crappy box full of electronics.
  21. That sucks, they should have included an attachment for the standard stand too, since none is included.
  22. My Ebay seller just told me that mine would be shipping in 2 days. Woohoo! Finally Gamlin is coming....that is if he doesn't get sidetracked looking for Basara.......again
  23. When will Alto's version be out ? I see Ozma's everywhere but no Alto.
