  1. Im glad i passed on the Hi metal VF-19. I just hope they start from scratch and don't carry anything over from the YF-19. If its anything like the YF-21/VF-22 and VF-11 its gonna be awesome! Still i'll wait for the blazer most likely.
  2. Does anyone know if the brown VF-1A cannonfodder has smooth pins or knurled ones ? Anyone checked yet ?
  3. Looks great. But for me personally i thinks its alittle too expensive for such a small toy. I have the same feeling with this as i had with Yamato's Destroids, looks awesome but too damn pricy for what you get. So unless this gets on sale i most likely will not get it. If it came with soundbooster's and snap on landing gear it would be a little more tempting in my opinion.
  4. How bad is the corrosion and did it happen fairly quick ? I have already filed down the pins on two of my VF-1's that have knurled ones but i don't want anything to get damaged because the pins corrode.
  5. Just put "or knurled" before pins and i think its good enough.
  6. I know, but i don't seem to be able to change the thread title into something more approriate after i made it. I just wanted to make a thread where we perhaps could try to get a list of VF's we are more or less certain of either have knurled pins or smooth ones.
  7. I know "Not another Yamato thread" but i think its good for everyone if we try to list which VF-1's do have smooth pins and which do not. Specially if a majority has the same problem with the same VF-1's. We should split them into 3 groups, those are almost guaranteed to have knurled pins, those that might have it (But perhaps not all) and those that are guaranteed to not have it. Guaranteed to have it: VF-1S Roy (1st edition) VF-1S Hikaru VF-1J Hikaru VT-1 Might have it or might not: VF-1D (Mine has) VF-1S Max (Mine does not have it) Guaranteed to not have it: VE-1 As more reports come in we should add to this list and try to come up with an accurate picture as to which VF-1's have knurled pins and which do not.
  8. Nor sure how accurate colorwise the Macross Mecha Manual is but this looks good to me: http://www.new-un-spacy.com/macross7/vf-11...11c-fighter.gif
  9. 1/48 or 1/60 atleast with a self built Yammie if it breaks you got no one to blame but yourself
  10. I hold it with a small pliar and use a small file at a slight angle to smooth it out and make it alittle thinner. Then i turn the pin slightly and go at it again until its completely smooth all around.
  11. Both my VT-1 and VF-1D turned out to have knurled pins. The VF-1D may not look like it from the outside but once you push the pin out it it does have a knurled side though alittle smaller. So i ended up with filing the knurled ends completely smooth and a little thinner so that i know for sure they won't scratch anything. This made the hinges alittle more loose but nothing that hurts posability or transformation and atleast now it works 100% without fear of breaking. An easy fix, but it should not have been needed in the first place.
  12. Just checked my VT-1 better and it does have knurled pins, but no stress marks or damage yet. I noticed that the pins do move along with the shoulders moving out so it doesn't look like it scratches the plastic. The way i understand for those that have demaged shoulders is that the pins remain static while you move the shoulder/arm out so that it "eats" into the plastic everytime and eventually it breaks. So if it moves along with the shoulder, this is better right ?
  13. Any word on the VF-1D have smooth or knurled pins ? Also since this hasn't happened to any of mine yet, if it cracks or breaks, is it impossible to have the arm stay on even if its loose ? Or is it just that it will come off if you handle it or transform it ? So if it happens and i want to display it in battroid mode, will the arm still stay on if i don't touch it ?
  14. When will this Firevalk by released ? And whats up with the soundbooster extras, are those coming later ?
  15. The rate of VF purchases this year has been very high so i haven't had the time to check them all out very well yet. Hell i still haven't transformed my VT-1 and VE-1 yet. My VF-1S Max and VF-1D seems to have smooth pins though, atleast no jagged edges on the pins that i can see. The VF-11 is the only toy im actually really "Playing" with and damn this thing is impossible to put down.
  16. Jamming Birds would be awesome, im a sucker for 2-seater's. And like someone said earlier a VF-0B Space Proving wing would be cool too. Perhaps it could come with a M0 ghost fighter painted in red to match up. And some extra NATO weapons.
  17. With the M&M VF-22's and the VF-11C coming, yamato is on the roll with M7. So its likely that atleast one new VF would be from M7. My bet is one from M7 and one from something else (VF-0D, VF-4, VF-2SS)
  18. Sounds about right. I wouldn't call the VF-4 a true successor to the VF-1 even if it was designed to replace it. I think the VF-11 is the first true successor to the VF-1 both in technology and capabilities. Its the YF-19/VF-19 and YF-21/VF-22 that really started to bring something new to the table with the built in pinpoint barrier system for VF's and ability to use foldboosters (Even though the VF-17's could use them in a limited way too) The VF-25 seems like a refined VF-19 with better weapons and more options and weapon packs.
  19. So i was watching a documentary about the different generations of fighter aircraft yesterday. It went through all the generations and talked about what innovation each new generation introduced and showed the evolution. And that got me thinking about Macross. How many different generations of VF's would you say there are in macross ? What new does each generation introduce and which VF's belong in which generation ? In my opinion (I only use the most known VF's) Pre-Generation 1: SV-51 VF-0 Generation 1: VF-1 Generation 2: VF-4 Generation 3: VF-11 Generation 4: YF-19, VF-19, YF-21, VF-22, VF-17 Generation 4.5: VF-171 Generation 5: VF-25, VF-27 Not sure about the VF-171 as its not as advanced as the 25 and 27 most likely and its just an upgraded 17. Perhaps a generation 4.5 then. Not sure about the VF-0 either, it doesn't have the reaction engines the VF-1 have but everything else is the same even if it can't go into space. Its not a generation below the VF-1 but not at the exact same level either. So i just called it pre-generation 1.
  20. Im going rounds with myself to find out if i really should spend $200 on one of these when i already have the YF-21 and Gamlin's VF-22. I kinda regret buying Gamlin's 22 now that the M&M versions are out but at the time i didn't think Yamato was going to do any other 22 so i had to get atleast that one. But if im getting one it will be Milia's and not Max since i already have a blue one. If i wait for months do you think it will go up or down in price or stay the same ? Im worried that if i don't buy one now it will be sold out everywhere, since its limited to a 1000 pieces i believe. But then Gamlin's are still available on EBAY and not any more expensive then before.
  21. Airbrake and flaps like the 1/48 had, specially the airbrake, love that! Cockpit ladder, if it could be retractable that would be cool, if not just a plain ladder. Arrestor hook like the VF-0's have. Retractable intake cover's and not just swapable...if this is possible. Side cover's. Extending chair in battroid mode. "Magic hands" Strap for the gunpod. NATO weapons, missiles, bombs...would be cool.
  22. I have nothing against gundam but part of the reason that i like macross is that it has its own unique look and feel. If macross designs starts to move closer and closer to gundam then it will lose that unique feel in my opinion and become another gundam clone...and there are enough of them. I enjoy both franchises separate from eachother with its own designs unique to that franchise.
  23. So why did the VF-11C get pushed back to february and not the M&M VF-22's ?
  24. I have one set of TV fastpacks here with no free VF-1 to put it on. And since my GF have said i can get one small VF for christmas im looking around (she is starting to grow tired of those toys all around ). I already own a VF-1A CF with TV FP's so i was thinking about the VF-1D virgin road. I don't plan on getting the M&M 1J's in 1/60 since i have them in 1/48 and i don't want to double up. But a Virgin road VF-1D with TV style FP's would come close to a Max 1J. So my request is, could someone who has a VF-1D Virgin Road and TV fastpacks take a picture of it so i could see what it looks like ? If not a Max 1J with standard TV fastpacks might give an idea too. Also does the Virgin road have a deeper, darker blue then the VF-1J or is it exactly the same ? Thanks
  25. I hope this is not a sign of things to come. No gundamified macross please!
