Get 1 VF25F for each ! Just hope the girl / wifey never finds out

Why didn't they just make zentran-sized VF-25's or even VF-171's, complete with Zentran-sized ex-gears? They could squish Varja like little ants

I am in the same boat. My super parts have been waiting to be packed for like 2 weeks

Nah It's not glued in at all. For the loose pegs on the shin/calf armor I "borrowed" my G/F's nail polish to make them stick on tighter. THe thigh armor sticks on tight in fighter mode which is my fav. Plus it's a real pain to put the legs in and out with the thigh armor on.

It's a gamble. The J-govt is trying really, really damn hard to make the Yen cheaper because a strong yen is killing foreign profits, which some 70% of the J-economy relies on. If the J-Govt's plans work out, the yen price could yield a cheaper price in USD after conversion in April. However, that's assuming the US dollar remains at the current value, something I highly doubt considering QE3 (more like QE infinity) and other inflationary practices that the US govt makes use of. Honestly, I'd stick with the USD value that I have on my orders. Reason being it's 100% guaranteed price in USD and I don't have to worry about budgetory drama should the USD take a nose-dive in the next few months.

Funnily enough, comparing my armored VF-171 and my naked one.... I'm starting to like the naked one more, at least in fighter mode. Suddenly I'm not so inclined to get a second armor set anymore O_o

Other than the canopy and the head only having one visor, I don't think there are any physical differences between the 171ex and 171 CF. Ok..well.. the CF's have really kick-ass pilot figures which I prefer to the SMS pilots

Am I the only one that was crazy and always bought tons of 1/48's from Lost and Found toys just for the free black-tipped stands back in the day? :0

This is amazing. If only I didn't have to sacrifice my newborn to get one of these vf-4's lol

I was always under the impression they were missile pods because in triangle frontier on PSP they are always shown opening up and shooting missiles :0 I blame Artdink On a side note my 2nd VF-171 arrived from NY finally added on armor parts and panel lined it during today's super slow graveyard shift.

Heads up somebody on Yahoo Auctions JP is selling renewal 25F's with armored and super parts in a set. Used one is at like 30000 Yen, the new one is more. 4 days left. YOu'd prolly have to use one of those bid services in Japan that tacks on an extra 10% or so , before shipping :0

considering thigh armor popping is an issue I'm considering just gluing the armor on. O_o

VF-171EX is not hard to come by in the brick and mortars in Japan, at least when I was there. I saw at least 8-9 for retail during my Akiba visit in late November O_o woulda bought all of them but nooo, only so much bag space and money :0

Seriously? PSP and not Vita? My stupid VIta is just collecting dust until PSO2 comes out :0

I believe all the VF's have different chest, back and collar plates. The Models were like this (cept for the collar plates) This is why there's no indentations on the sides to put the lasers down farther on the 25G like the 25S and F backplates
-
Another issue is that Japanese retailers themselves are not making big orders for Macross F products, or Macross in general. When I was in Akiba in november at best Macross made up a small shelf or display case. You really had to look for it at many stores. Probably only the export stores like HLJ were trying to make big orders while the Brick and mortars in Japan skimped out.

I'd argue this valk scheme is better than the Alto, but the Alto one is canon and therefore I had to procure that one first.... I know it's been said before, but my ONLY gripe with the YF-29 30th is.... Y U NO Green Canopy?!?

It'd molded Black for most of the nose unless they felt like painting the underside too. I took apart my YF-29 to fix a funny off-set front landing gear door and got a nice look. You can also look through your front landing gear doors and see that the inside is black, not white.

At this point you're better off just getting a decent airbrush and popping on some dark ghost grey on the 25G.

Finding the VF-25's is pretty hard even in Japan. Check rakuten and Amazon Japan and you'll see the majority of units marked for domestic shipping only are sold out as well. When I scoured Akiba All I could find was VF-171's (funny they were still on shelves 5 months after release) You'd have to travel out to the boonies where No Macross fans are and maybe get a lucky score at a Toyshop. That's how I got my 25F at Retail earlier this month (Big thanks to the GF ) Why Bandai continues to leave money on the table confuses me, but perhaps there are other reasons that we don't know about.
-
Wish Bandai would make universal Armored Packs. If you get the Ozma or Alto Packs, just paint them Grey so you can use them on any valk in the future :0

Bandai 1/72 fully transform able VF-1 plastic kit for Macross 30th Ann
Duymon replied to Vi-RS's topic in Model kits
Regardless I'm gonna buy a few anyways just because I want to pump up the sale numbers so Bandai makes more macross crap -
My YF-29 arrived today from Japan :0 Ended up buying it on Rakuten for 210 shipped to GF's house, then had her ship it here. Ended up being freaking the same as NY-san in the end However, had a blast adding a black wash and then using swabs dipped in alcohol to get some nice panel lines . Just watch out for the yellow paint! It comes off easy with rubbing alcohol! (judging by the slight yellow I found on my swabs after taking off the excess wash. I was doing this at work since it's a pretty quiet night shift today in the NOC
