    DX VF-25G

Made a universal Armored pack for my renewals that can be used on a 25G or whatever 25 comes out in the future (except the RVF). Kinda like the non-canon gull-gray and will most likely be turning a spare 25G into a grey 25G like I had in my Triangle Frontier PSP game I also polished off the SMS 007 off the bottom of the side packs
  2. Yamato should grab the M3 license. VF-9 Cutlas VF-14 VF-3000 VF-5000B Variable Glaug. How many of those valks have been made yet? Yeah, that's what I thought.

    DX VF-25G

Has anyone tried the renewal 25G with the Fold Speakers? ON the fence on whether or not to purchase a set or not from a friend. -Duy
  4. Now that I think of it.... Bandai already has the molds to make two of those character valks... the all black YF-29 would be quite sexy. Even better would be a new pieces to make the yf-29 prophecy, though I'd hope they'd make the proper long cockpit like on the model instead of just half-assing it with the second seat like on the other yf-25's O_o
  5. If the RVF isn't popular that's great, because it's my fav and I want multiples to customize :0 Grey RVF with yellow nose ftw. Also, the 25G seems to be very easy to procure, even now. It's been out like 3 months and still going for around 200-ish, even on NY.
  6. It's true Yammie is great at valk making but I don't see how they could further improve on the VF-25 Renewals outside of some joint tightening. I would go as far as saying Bandai did a pretty good job on the Renewals, just glad I never put cash down for the v1's O_O
  7. Yeah... the decals are a pain to work with, especially the SMS markings on darker units like the 25-G. I had to paint a white background for those to look somewhat decent . However, I gotta say that the 1/72 are still very nice and one of the only ways to get a really nice looking skull-squadron without breaking the bank. Despite Hasegawa making Frontier kits as well, I really like my transforming kits :0
  8. This certainly looks nice. The transformation has the arms on the sides, and in gerwalk those shoulders attach to the canards in front it looks like. What's really cool though is the hip rotation that's built into the gerwalk mode. Bandai better ratchet joint that O_o Now the biggest thing I got from this was, when he was talking about the big bar... at 2:14 Kawamori-san states: これはコンテーナとして、自由に交換出来る "As this is a container, it can be exchanged freely" So it can be exchanged for different bars depending on the mission. The default is that missile one, but apparently there is a Beam-module as well that goes length-ways. That would prolly be really easy to fire in Fighter mode even when stowed I'd prolly take that Beam Module any day over the missile one O_O
  9. The more I look at this the more I don't really care. I built tons of Hases and for my Toy I have 3 1/48's I customized. I wish they'd approached the 1/48 VF-25 like they originally had. That is something that wouuld sell like hotcakes. I'd buy 10 of them myself...
  10. The worst part is you know you'll want three of them, especially after re-watching the 3 VF-171's kick ass in episode 14
  11. This is the one VF that I would buy multiples of. The RVF is my favorite of them all.
  12. So.... I bought my gf a microsoft surface and that covered her bday and xmas presents, allowing me to use december bonus for myself > In the last two weeks I ended up buying.... 2 VF-25Gs (one to customize) Renewal VF-25S with Armored Renewal VF-25F And I'm working on scoring some Renewal 25F armored packs. THen My bonus check will be 2/3 gone and the rest will got the bank

    DX VF-25G

Back in Stock at Nippon-ya san. about $226 shipped. Considering retail is 14,000 yen, or $166, $40 markup seems very tame compared to all your other options. I just picked up an extra and will be turning one into a custom since I love the 25G head so much.
  14. Yeah, decent quality fan-dub but it totally doesn't fit Macross. WTF is up with Roy? I didn't know he was some burly trucker... The 80's international Dub is so bad, it's good. I still prefer it over even the original Japanese, even after having studied and becoming fluent in Japanese. Roy's voice actor is genius and totally pulls off a convincing Roy, and no I'm not joking lol Seriously, how can you top "Just watch jet jockey in Action!" or "deploy and Form the suit!" Who remembers trying to pause to get that one frame of Hikaru's VF-1s right when he blasts Boldoza in the "Clash of the Bionoids" cut?
  15. Built this on a slow day at work (network engineer, and holiday season is suuuper slow so we got time on shift )
  16. These things cost alot because they are so rare. The japanese exchange rate doesn't help either. It's around 80-82 so the retail of 14800 already turns to 180. I was lucky to score mine at 16800 yen O_o ($204) Compare this to the days of the 1/48 Yammie, which also retailed for 14800. During that time, the dollar was 120 yen, so 1/48 yammies were around 123 dollars retail The last 3-4 years have not been kind to the Dollar and to Macross Fans ========== BTW, 25G looks a little nicer if you add some panel lines. Nothing near as good as a dull-coat + weather + seal, but it's quick and easy and I'm too lazy PS, I had to add some black and blue to the pilot figure. Seriously why couldn't Bandai just up-scale the pilots from their 1/72 models which look GREAT?!? Perhaps there was a divergence between the toy and model teams
  17. Nothing if you have your valk in gerwalk or Battroid. The fighter mode however is a total pain in the ass as there's no locking mechanism to set the legs and wings like in the Armored back and Tornado Pack releases. Actually, it's so bad that a lot of people I know got the pose "just right" and then promptly glued their super pack valks into fighter mode to avoid the pain again O_O It's true the vanilla fighters don't have locking mechanisms either, but the pieces go together so naturally on the fighter that it's a moot point. So I would advise buying anything in the 1/72 line except for super packs lol
  18. The 1/72 Armored Valks are really good. The armored pack units have locking systems like the toys that allows for tight fighter mode, and they come with a stand However, still fragile as they are models. If you buy any of the Bandai 1/72's, the Armored would be at the top of the list behind the VF-27. Just avoid the Super packs like the plague.
  19. Just got back from Japan and am going to put these on my workbench shortly Who would've guessed you could find a yf-25 Prophecy in 2012 for only 4350 yen at a resale shop in Akihabara (O_o) Funny thing is it even had the original receipt from famima.com inside the box which stated it costed the original owner 6120.... At Laox, there were 7-8 VF-25S armored at 5400 yen each.... wish I could've taken them all home but alas damn box takes up too much space

    DX VF-25G

there are 14 others in stock at different stores on amazon for the same price. It runs up to around 205-ish dollars at current exchange rate. Maybe one ships international. Bandai really screwed the pooch on this one. I could not find a single VF-25 renewal anywhere in Akihabara, Tokyo... the freaking toy-mecca of Japan. I spent 2 days looking!! All I could find was freaking VF 171's at retail prices....the horrors!

    DX VF-25G

Heads up Amazon.co.jp has a few VF-25G's and even Vf-171EX alto's left for near Retail (17,000 Yen vs 14,800 Yen) http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/switch-language/product/B0087JD27E/ref=dp_change_lang?ie=UTF8&language=en_JP http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/switch-language/product/B007EMQQTG/ref=dp_change_lang?ie=UTF8&language=en_JP I bought my VF-25G from them while I was in Japan and had it shipped to my GF's place for like 500 yen because I couldn't find the 25G for the life of me in Akihabara
  22. It looks like a discount version of the Morgan To be honest, I could care less about this new fictional craft. As always if they have the YF-23 I'm happy
  23. I work literally right across the street from where they hold this thing every year. If you want to come in for Macross you will probably be disappointed. If Macross is all you really are into I would only go if it's within driving distance.
