  1. Animation and designs had better be better since DYRL is after all a 2nd run of the space war 1 story. Why I like DYRL better? Roy + Strike However, only one thing turned me off from DYRL. Miria shoulda become tiny again and flown a valk I didn't like seeing Max in girly skintight suit How could they have done that to my fav character? >_<
  2. I know it's ok with you DnD, but if I had a crooked decal on the head of my lil pilot, I'd go absolutely insane. Since I only collect 1/48 VF's, not a lot of problems except for Old problems coming back. (IE the Fusealage Gap and crooked Skulls) Also, I don't see why in the world Yamato would package the the old goofy DYRL pilots in their sets when the Much better gummy DYRL pilot has been out for quite a while now, but that's a minor issue.
  3. I'm Very...Very hard pressed to buy a yammie in the US at all since I Started buying them in Japan. I went on a rampage in Japan over the course of 2 weeks (I snuck off when my Fiance went to do wedding plannign things with her mom) I got: MIB NEW: VF-1A CF 9120 Yen - 76.00 USD VF-1a Max 8350 Yen - 69.58 USD VF-1s Hikaru 10400 Yen - 86.67 USD Fast Packs 4500 Yen - 37.50 USD GBP Reg 9800 Yen - 81.67 USD GBP Low Vis 8000 Yen - 66.67 USD Discounted: Half off Closing Sale: Stealth 7490 Yen - 62.40 USD Low Vis 2 7490 Yen - 62.40 USD Used: Fast Packs 3000 Yen - 25.00 USD Damaged Box: VF-1a CF 7800 Yen - 65.00 USD Exchange rate helped since 1 USD is about 120 Yen and has been for the last 2 or so months, but I was just surprised to see why valks in the US cost 30-70 dollars more than what I paid for the same item. It's prolly a culmination of the availability of 1/48 Yammies in Japan, not needing to go through HK distros and added shipping that make the cost in Japan seem so cheap. And about getting tickets to Japan? I have to go anyways once a year so that my soon-to-be wife doesn't go insane from homesickness, I hope everyone else can find a good excuse to go too har har.

    Ideally...

Pretty happy with what I have now. VF-1s Roy Strike x1 VF-1a Hikaru Super x1 VF-1a Max Super x1 VF-1a Hayao Super x1 Minor Custom VF-1s Strike with Grey highlights instead of red :0 VF-1J Hikaru x1 VF-1J Stealth Strike x1 VF-1a CF x2 VF-1a LV2 x1 GBP Normal x1 GBP Low Vis x1 Only thing I'll prolly start looking for is a Max and Milia 1j when I have the money.
  5. I guess the VF-1 is my favorite simply because I'm a sucker and somehow keep buying again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again,
  6. It's a gret solution and it works wonders. Btw, did you guys just sort of ninja that nail polish from your girlfriend makeup pack like I did? Or did you actually go into a store and buy nail polish?!? Did the clerk at the register say anything? har har
  7. No I wasn't on the yoshinol Actually, I had gone to a post office that I'd never been to before and stopped behind the other 4 people flashing their hazards as they ran in to do their business. Went out and the car was gone had to spend an hour at the pound getting my car cleared. Got slapped with a $160 towing fee (bs) and then got slapped with a $50 ticket Shoulda just mailed it via fed ex for 10 bucks and used the 0ther 200 dollars for a Roy + fastpack combo or something
  8. So I made a trade for a DYRL pilot by sending an MW member a TV pilot. Ok... the pilot's worth like... what? 3 dollars? Shipping on top of that was 4 dollars. Ok, no biggy. Sounds like a done deal. That's normal to most peeps. Well....except for the $210 ticket I got for parking near the post office Shipping for my $3 TV pilot ended up being $214. Hot Damn!
  9. Buy Hikaru's if you want the very well-done DYRL style pilot. For some ungodly reason, Yamato uses it's craptastic blob DYRL pilots even in reissues instead of switching over to the HIkaru VF-1s Mold but if you don't care about that, buy a Roy because most new Roy's floating around now (3rd and 4th reissues) have all the same improvements as the Hikaru VF-1s. BTW 99.99 looks too good ot be true. Check the shipping costs
  10. Most people will tell you to mix future with a flat base (like Tamiya) and spray it on. You should be able to find some web-sites that have the correct ratios on mixing it. Works wonders and have never heard a complaint about it in the last 5 years that I've known the technique.
  11. Neither Gam or Basara. Mylene took in a lesbian lover, going back to her meltrandi roots. (Maybe Veffidas?) Yeah! That's right! Actually I wouldn't know because I haven't watched more than 1 ep of Mac 7.
  12. I'd like to keep my opinion of SK from falling any further thank you
  13. What's sitting on my workbench?... About 18 sanded, polished and coated hase vf-1 canopies and 18 valks still on sprue...sitting there and taking up space while I'm in lazy mode enjoying instant gratification from 1/48 yammie love
  14. Wow that Macross looks fantastic. As for the nay sayers who are all saying things like "Wait for Yamato to make one", they won't even do two-seater VF-1's for us..what makes you think they'll make the Macross? Props to Wave for making the first ever DYRL version Macross in Toy Form. Can't wait to have one.
  15. Yup, and it just happens that the only people left on earth all speak Japanese
  16. My Fiance is still in Japan and I can just ship it to her using local JP Post Nearly Free Shipping, woot!
  17. I disagree that only the VF-1 needed fast packs. The VF-0's are supposedly an older less advanced design and their Conformal Leg Tanks are the best example of Conventional Fast Packs in the Macross World. If I remember Correctly, VF-0's weren't running on Nuke Engines thus needed buttloads of fuel to get around. Now the Ghost Booster? uh.. wtf is all i gotta say lol
  18. I don't see why they don't just make some parallel storylines to the original macross like Bandai has done with Gundam. A story of a few green pilots rushed from the training ground to the battlefield during Space War 1 could work. They wouldn't even have to be cannon fodders, they could be in a unique squadron similiar to the one featured in the macross PS2 game. A good pacing and mix of of crew drama and combat as seen in Battlestar Galactica could serve the series quite well. Anyone may say "omg what an unoriginal idea", but hey.. i'd rather be watching a dark, gritty rehashed BSG-like Macross than...say... "super hippy wtf-ing hell am I watching" catastrofrak known as Macross Zero.

    What scale Destroids?

I haven't bought any new products since they aren't 1/48 scale. If the destroids weren't in 1/48, it'd be a travesty
  20. Duymon

    VF-1S Hikaru

Sorry, Anyone that says Hirkaru > Roy isn't a true macross fan.
  21. You have your shoes, I have my valks I get away with buying a valk every 2 months 50 dollars of "fun money" per paycheck, 2 paychecks a week x 2 months = 1/48 valk Kinda wish Yamato Released all the 1/48's before I got married so that I could splurge on like 4-5 valks a month and as a result live paycheck to paycheck again
  22. "Clash of the bionoids" rocks because: Roy sounds like Roy, and his lines are so hilariously bad and memorable that they rock. Minmay doesn't sound like an annoying dink Without Clash of the bionoids, I would never have learned about Macross. "Now watch jet-Jockey in action"
  23. Do rub-on decals ala Bandais Master Grade Gundam series. Looks a whole lot purtier and they stay on just great with a dull-coat and don't have that cheap sticker look. OR... For God's Sake print Decal Sheets with a BLUE background. Do you know how many cuts I got carving out the Itty bitty white line GPB decals (ie the Elbow Vent Line Decal). Carving them would be no problem if it weren't for carving White off of SHINY WHITE. Yeesh O_o
  24. Has anyone tried to make Vaccumform Canopy Replacements for 1/72 Hase VF-1 kits? Reason i ask is I'm looking at making a lot of open-canopy vf's and the current canopy seems a lil on the thick side
