I don’t recall the Yamato 1/60 v2 VT-1 having a hook lock due to the tail panel folding over the dorsal part of the fighter. This having the clips for the vertical stabilizers Instead.

Are the joints on this like those on the Logan prototype left at Frank and Sons?

The cockpit, canopy, and fuselage are very different in dimensions between the 2-Seaters. VF-1D is sleek while the VT/VE-1 are more bulbous in shape. This is why the tail fins can lay flat on the 1D variants.

Yamato sure did everything right when they supported the Macross franchise. Thank you Yamato. Excellent trifecta!

It’s a good thing they are not only a responsible supplier, but understanding and loyal as well. Not saying they should do this all the time, but I really appreciate their response and support. Sometimes a supplier has to take the loss to demonstrate their true support of a customer. As mediator in supply chains I understand the reasons why they did this and how. The details to which transpired to this result are many and there is no reason to get into it with granularity but just know every step was taken on both sides to meet a reasonable accord as between parties involved. Thanks again LP.

Resources and slots could have been better served had Bandai released the Max VF-1J for the “50th Anniversary of Chogokin” and Miria as the “Since 1982 Commemorative”. Each without fast-packs which would later have been released as Tamashi Nation exclusives. Total opportunity missed. Just my two cents.

Bandai’s erratic choices of mecha sizing is so unappealing. I think the only reason I keep buying these is to compare them to Yamato/Arcadia sculpts. Really wish they would scale better.

From looking at this picture, it just makes me think that Bandai wanted to keep taller vertical stabilizers but opted not to extend and rake them back a bit. Would have made a huge difference in fighter mode.

So I have to put this out there. After countless communications to get the arm replaced with the vertical stabilizer. LP went above and beyond. Instead of just sending me the replacement arm, they issued me a brand new DX free of charge and shipping. Of course I had to buy another item to be able to bundle it so I felt it was the least I could do. Of course I went through all the hurdles and almost lost hope, but after more than two months they finally pulled through. I would have been more than happy to just get the replacement arm, but I guess it’s easier to send another instead and keep a loyal customer happy. Kudos LP. FYI - I repaired the broken arm with epoxy as best I could. So far it’s holding up well. And fortunately, both DX arrived with unbent head lasers.

My name comes from having nightmares of having to gather lots of money in secrecy to collect Macross before my wife finds out. Just kidding. I have a great admiration of the creativity and wonderful figures of “the Nightmare Before Christmas” and then just mashed it up with Macross another great franchise known for its awesome creativity and figures. Hence, NightmareBeforeMacross, NightmareB4Macross, or NB4M for short. My avatars would usually be centered around customs I would work on or complete. The pair in my avatar are these fun custom birds using Yamato as a base in 1/48. The avatar shows them being built in tandem. Here they are finished. Live in good old sunny SoCal and have been very fortunate to have met so many of you in person mostly at MWCon thru SDCon. Since I travel extensively for work I always try to connect with Macross fans found in the areas I land. Always make time for good food and conversation, and of course the occasional beer. Cheers!
