  1. Anyone else worried about these shoulder hinges? I can run my nail across the surface and feel all those ridged and wrinkled areas on the surface. Please don’t be made of explodium.😬
  2. I would be happy to help. Hopefully, all works out with LP. But just in case, I’m here. I’m going to pull out my custom for comparisons.
  3. Nice first impression. The color looks great! For in finish is superb and tight, but only time will tell how long that will last. Super happy that the support bar for the boosters is not necessary and neither are those little clips that come out of the back. Sadly, the vertical stabilizers are way too undersized. And the neck and head, well those both could have been done a lot better. Definitely painting the direction lights on the wings. The wing boosters are already painted into place with a red warning strip. Just my two cents.
  4. If you take it apart, all that is needed are the backpack and vertical stabilizer.
  5. The good thing is that is an easy repair. The material responds well to using Plastruct PlasticWeld. And since the plastic is not painted you can clean the parts and polish them free of any residue for an almost invisible repair. A while back I did a repair for member here and it came out nice and strong. I had to remove CA glue first then begin the repair, which was applied by the owner but it did not hold well. So I masked off areas I didn’t want binder on. Then applied a coat to both sides. And put the parts together. Hold for 20-30 secs and let dry for 2-7 days. Dry fit several times before you do anything. This will make it more natural for you to put everything into proper alignment. You can see I lifted the Valkyrie by the broken vertical stabilizer to test its strength. Then polished the 1J good as new and sent it back. If you want me to repair it, I can definitely do it.
  6. Best I have for now of the F-14 with landing gear deployed in fighter and stowed in gun mode.
  7. Here it is. It even has the black detents to lock the wings in various positions. Installation is upside down.
  8. Left, Thunder Bot B/O Robot and Black Thunder, has the lower portions of the legs and modified feet. Center, F-14 Laser Fighter, has all landing gear, highly modified nose, portions of the legs as the rear leg housings, and highly modified wings, and gears. Right, Robotic Aeroplane, has arms, back plate, inner back plate, overly modified wings, front landing gear, and gears. These are an interesting add for any 1/55 collection.
  9. Here are some really odd and far separated offspring of our beloved 1/55 Takatoku mold. Tai Fong Toys produced and released these motorized gems in 1984. Finding a couple that work is easy. But finding them all complete, well that’s another story. I happened to come across these on FB and noticed some similarities with the first mold being the Grumman E-3 on the right. From there I thought since there are parts used here for this robot maybe there are parts on others from the same manufacturer. And to my surprise there were. A similar story is also on Collection DX, but there was never talk of the third robot having parts from the VF-1. Check these out. And see how many relatable parts you can find.
  10. I swear, all you guys have some very extraordinary talents. Keep the wonderful customs coming. My current progress on this old bird. GERWALK mode achieved via the magnets implemented to make the proper connection. New feet and knee joint still in progress.
  11. Those pilots look sharp. Excellent details.
  12. The fun continues… and the swing plates with magnets are doing the job right.
  13. Bluefin “Warning” sticker is part of the criteria needed. If the product does not have it customer service will just kick out you request. Then they will respond stating you do not have the Bluefin “Warning” sticker“ and wash their hands. The. Tell you to go back to your retailer for support. I went back to vendor. They made the claim so now it’s a waiting game.
  14. There is no Bluefin sticker. So anyone importing is SOL. That’s the message I got.
  15. Well, here is the link provided by the vendor. https://www.bandai.com/returns-replacements Submitted my claim. Replacement parts take 6-8 weeks. Hopefully, I get my part. It will have to be a full arm as it does not seem that you can only replace the joint without destroying the forearm while trying to take it apart. Wish me luck.
  16. It is. When I opened it that was the first thing I checked before I even considered going any further. Then I see the stabilizer…
  17. I hope so too. The wing flap is popped out of place. Haven’t even taken it out of the clamshells. Crazy enough the box is pristine with no visible damage. This sucks.
  18. Got Bandaid. The arm vertical stabilizer is busted. Packaging itself is undamaged and shipping was top notch. I hope I can get a full replacement or an arm with said stabilizer.
  19. Pics I came across. Wanted to share the nightmares that await a few YF-21 owners. 😏
  20. Wow, that ThreeZero is Al kinds of…no thanks.
  21. This is true. Very true. And I must add, having handled it first hand, the figure does justice to all modes.
  22. Cool!!! I was waiting for that pic.
