Got Bandaid. The arm vertical stabilizer is busted. Packaging itself is undamaged and shipping was top notch. I hope I can get a full replacement or an arm with said stabilizer.

Whats Lying on your Workbench MK IV

Way past that stage already. There are pins located in the hips and the FLIRs actually accept them to connect and form the proper hip joints. Already moving into the knee joints. -

Does anyone know why Bandai included dummy gun pods? Also that little U-pin for the backpack is really saying a lot about Bandai’s oversight on this. And for no reason at all, you need to place an adapter to keep the body and backpack locked together. What is this a VF-2SS Hi-Metal R type of solution? So many disappointing choices.

That is some really great work on those hinges.

Thank you. Paint is still a long ways from now. Many more modifications are pending. But rest assured, we’ll get there. For the most part, I am still trying to keep the look of original 1/55. -
In some instances yes. But not for every set of parts. Besides, buying original parts guarantees proper fit and finish when the appropriate pieces are procured. It takes but a few minutes to determine if the parts are worth their value. If you decide to buy due to being cheap well expect the worst. There are tons of great parts still available. Find a complete set and take the plunge.

@Kyrie better to buy OG when the t’s still available. At least that’s my preference.

I see the same thing happening with the backpack, as it also rears itself further from the main body. Good thing the camera or marketing guy notices and decided to use the wing as a side cover. I know a guy who knows a thing about hinges to make things look smaller. 😅

Very nice. Like a nitwit, I sold off a lot of my 1/55s when the 1/48’s came out. I the last few years I have recouped all the Bandai Reissues. The Origin series was a bear to find. Happy to have them back and to have acquired many others along the way.

Thank you, everyone. I would do the same whenever I would travel. Take pics on take off and landing. It was always amazing to see how everything worked. An updated 1/20 would be amazing to have these details incorporated. I am sure they could create a more elegant solution on such a large scale. -
That is the great part of Jetfire. There are so many out there that they can be customized into anything Macross.

Some of those panel lines are all kinds of odd. Look at the flaps on the wings and those on the vertical stabilizer.🤨 -
They are, but they usually go for good money. You can always get a slightly used VF-1 with all documentation, stickers, and accessories included for a decent price.
