Yeah, I think it started with the DX Chogkin YF-30 when it was released in 2014. -

Baltmatrix reviews: Transformers Studio Series Starscream: I'm taken aback how fantastic Starscream folds up into a relative clean and slim jet. It is not perfect but I think it is as perfect as a retail Transformers jet can be. Sadly I have no affection for life-action Transformers toys so I hope they implement lessons learned from this toy to their Neo Classics line. Power of the Primes Starscream is such an disappointment.- 17164 replies

I think Isamus YF-29 is hampered by the glossy plastic Bandai used at that time. The color scheme lends itself much better to a matte finish in my opinion. -

Sounds you are talking about the Orguss. Check out the Orguss thread here on MW: -
I think MyFigureCollection would be a good start: https://myfigurecollection.net/entry/1744 To my knowledge Ichiban Kuji figures are prices for raffles. Maybe these crane games that Japanese seem to love so much also fall under this category. They can from different companies. Banpresto seems to be one of the primary manufacturers for such goods. Hope that helps. Never ordered from Plamoya myself so I can't help you with that.

Gundam Figure Thread - Newtype GN-002
Scyla replied to Black Valkyrie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Well I would like to see a GFFMC EW Altron Gundam. Green is underrepresented in most mecha merchandise in my opinion. That is one good think with my Takara/3rd Party Masterpiece collection. All the colors of the rainbow on the shelf. Bandai just needs to get their stuff together and release all the EW suits in the GFFMC line- 6025 replies

I myself prefer the regular Justice Gundam. I'd love a Metal Build of any of Athruns suits because it would break up the monotony of white and blue that is my Metal Build collection. The Gold Frame is the only one that stand out of the palette of standard Gundam colors. The red Astraea can't come soon enough.- 6025 replies

So it seems like Toys R Us is done for good which is sad news: http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/03/15/goodbye-toys-r-us-us-stores-close-360892 To end on a positive note I thought I might share my most beloved childhood memory I have about TRU. Feel free to join in I would love to hear some more stories. Here is mine: When I was a small child my parents took me on a trip to the United States in the late 80s and I was around the age of 8 or 9. Since I grew up in a small village I never knew something like Toys R Us exists in the world. So when we visit a store during the trip I was baffled about the size and variety of product available in such a gigantic toy store knowing only the small mom and pop toy stores of my home town. I also though the reversed "R" was strange. I knew little English at the time so the store name didn't made any sense to me. My dad explained that it is done as a brand recognition thing. All I cared about was that I recognized what Toys meant. Since my parents didn't have much money getting a toy was reserved for birthdays, Christmas and special occasions. I'm sure that this is an exaggeration but in my mind there where countless rows in the storewith shelfs that went up all the way to the ceiling of the building. I never knew they had Lego in the US, I thought this would be something that you can only found in Europe yet there was this gigantic row of Lego sets. And all the other unknown toy lines: I never heard about G.I.Joe for example. I knew of He Man and of course Transformers but in the small toy stores I visited in my country they only had a handful of items for a given line. If I remember correctly they had a weird system where you had to pull out a coupon for electronic/high priced items and you went up to the cashier with it to pay for the item. Afterwards you picked it up at a different counter. That was totally weird to me. So my mother decided to buy me something out of store as a souvenir for my visit to the US. She was totally opposed to the idea that I owned any computer games but since "war toys" (like G.I. Joe/He Man/Transfomers) where out of the question and a construction set like Lego was hard to transport on a trip she didn't had much choice. So after much whining from my side my mother decided to get me an original GameBoy which changed my life. It might helped that a road trip through the Mid West was planned so she probably thought this would keep me quiet during the long hours on the road. Having a GameBoy really changed my life and I grew up to become an obsessed gamer. So she probably regretted her decision to buy me my first gaming device. Of course I got a copy of Tetris and Super Mario Land. And here it is 30 years later sill running Super Mario Land:

This is one of my issues with the new MG Ver. Ka kits. The Nu Gundam is significantly taler in universe than the Hi Nu. Since the kits share that many parts I feel like the Nu Gundam has not the best of proportions especially with the Psycho Frame exposed. The legs are just too long. The Hi Nu on the other hand is far better proportioned. So when it comes to a potential Metal Build/GFFMC of these suits I hope they don't share an internal skeleton.

True, but it was my understanding that the new Wing Zero Custom is more in line with the Metal Build ones compared to the previous GFFMC releases. And I really want that: A Metal Build quality 1/100 scale Sazabi, Nu and Hi Nu Gundam. I built all the Ver Ka. kits and they are nice display pieces but they leave me wanting more.

I would also recommend the VF-0S. It feels heavy and significant yet it has the same transformation mechanism as a VF-1. The Yamato/Arcadia VF-1 are great toys but seeing that you are more of a Gokin collector the VF-1 might feel a bit light and hollow for your liking. If you like the extra bit of finish on your expensive collectibles I would go with the VF-0 Premium Finish because it has a lot of added details as tampoo printing (https://hlj.com/product/ACA82143) you could get a bundle with the Reactive Armor if you like to play dress up (https://hlj.com/product/ACA82129). Sadly no premium finish on the add-on set so it might not be a perfect fit. The Valkyrie is unable to transform with the armor attached. The other recommendation would be Bandais VF-31. It is overall a solid piece. It has ratchets, copious paint applications, locks together super solid and has a interesting but fun transformation. The VF-0 has practically the same transformation as the VF-1/G1 Jetfire so maybe you want something different. They are a bit harder to come by since they sell out fairly quick. Good thing is it comes in all colors of the rainbow so you can pick the one you like best. The VF-31 also has a color coded add-on sets available. So you might pick one up as well. In contrast to the VF-0 add-on the VF-31 is fully transformable with the armor pieces attached. If you like the aesthetic of the VF-31 and you are a fan of engineering magic you could get the Bandai SV-262 as a companion piece. A VF-31F and a SV-262Hs make a fairly complete display on their own. Lastly if you prefer the proportions of the Super Robot machines I would recommend the Yamato VF-19S. It is a bit older but is the best Valkyrie Yamato produces. Super solid and chunky. It is a bit of a bare bones release so not many accessories but that might be a good thing if you want to focus on the Valkyrie. It should not be to hard to come by on the after market. This would be my choice. If you go with the VF-19 be careful when separating the shoulders from the lower legs. They hold on with a death grip and you can damage your toy if you use too much force. If you want some more input you could check out Scorched Earth Toys which is a blog from one of the board members here and he has extensive reviews all of the mentioned releases: http://www.anymoon.com/blog/ -
What I need is a 1/100 Scale Sazabi Ver. Ka in the Metal Build line.

Did you loose it or did it break? I can't tell if it is missing on the other side as well. Could it be that the part was removed to attach the Super/Armor Parts hip armor and the original piece is in the box of the toy or the armor?

I think we can expect a lot of toys from Bandai further on. Think about a RErenewal VF-25 with ratchets and a matte finish. Or a DX Macross Elysion. Arcadia is just a too small company to release new molds every other month. I would love to see a VF-5000/VF-14 or better a VF-9/VF-3000. The license should not be that hard to get but I'm not sure that there is enough interest from the general collector market. I would also die for a 1/60 VF-2SS from either Bandai or Arcadia. To me the HMR VF-2SS was a testbed for Bandai to test what a DX could look like and what to watch out for. In general I welcome a slower speed because it allows me to dip my toes into other lines. Like the Kuro Kara Kuri line from FlameToys or the Riobot line from Sentinel.

I recently came up with the theory that the anniversary Valkyrie are part of the license deal. So if you wan't to have the license you need to produce the anniversary Valkyrie. That leaves the question why Bandai doesn't have to produce these paint jobs but maybe they are too big of a company to have clauses like that in their licensing being the shows sponsor and all.

Is there a way to propose future toys for the 1000toys line? I always think they are super neat and I want to try them out. However all the designs look terribly unappealing to me. Looking at this design: It reminds me of the Parasite Eve 2 Golems: So I want to have some Parasite Eve 2 toys from the 1/12 scale line. Can you imagine how cool a 1000toys Golem would look like? I also wouldn't be opposed if they start the line with an Aya Brea toy. That reminds me. I need to figure out if my PS2 still works and play a round of PE 2.

So the swivel on one of my VF-31 Gerwalk joints is scary tight. so tight in fact that I'm not tying to move it out of fear of breakage. I looked at the figure but there seems to way to disassemble it to I cant see what the issue is. Has anyone experienced a similar problem and was able to solve it? I think I never saw a breakage here on the boards but on the other hand I'm not sure if it is save to move the joint. The question is how much force can I use getting the joint to move without breaking it. Ideally I would like to know how the joint is constructed so I know if there is something that can break due to too much force or an ill-constructed mechanism (see also the same joint on the VF-171) I think it would be a help to me if you could share your experience with the joint and if you to had a hard time moving it. If so where you able to get the rotation to work and did the issue went away. Thanks

It would be interesting to see the fan reaction over a new MP Convoy that is a different scale than the current Masterpiece line. Maybe he is sized to scale with Masterpiece Beast Wars Convoy. On the other hand I watched a BSF video recently where he talked about being almost finished with his MP G1 line so I'm not sure Takara needs to continue the MP line.- 17164 replies

Is that Crimson Typhoon a 3D printed piece? Some areas have the layered look of a 3D printed piece. If so it is impressive how much this technology evolved in the last few years.

I'm excited about the new MP Convoy. I can understand that people are upset that Takara is releasing Bayformers and Beast Wars Masterpiece branded toys instead of finishing out the G1 cast. I agree with the notion that I would like to see more G1 MP releases especially how well Sunstreaker turned out. On the other side I always face the reality that none of the Japanese toy companies never seem to finish anything. They do the most popular characters and then stop. Same goes for any toy line. I still want the rest of the Celestial Being suits from Gundam 00 as Metal Build releases but no. Same goes for the Gundam Wing suits besides the Wing Zero. I dread the day when Bandai decides to be finished with the SHF line without releasing the whole New Challengers cast. This is not just Bandai. It is Arcadia, Sentinel, Evolution Toys, Good Smile, Takara, etc. I think it it is just a reality that Japanese toy collectors can't afford a basement full of toys so they will go for the iconic characters like Convoy and Megatron. The listed toy companies are catering to their prime market so we have to deal with that. I also could imagine that Japanese collectors are interested in more toy lines than compared to the West where I have the feeling that there are much more focused collectors. I.E. only G1 MP Transformers, only Star Wars, etc. So while I'm grieving about not getting the toys I want I have to accept reality and embrace what we are getting.- 17164 replies

I love the VF-31S paint job. I hope I can secure a preorder. Looking back at the VF-31C I wonder what the preorder will be like. Mirages Valkyrie hat a really short window, never opened until release and was fairly easy to acquire after release. On other news I received my VF-31J Kai today and these toys really rival Yamatos VF-19 toys for the top spot of most fun Macross toy. Two things that keep them back is the fact that the Siegfrieds don't have dedicated thigh swivles because the one in the Gerwalk joint is breaking up the sculpt and I generally think it looks more natural and dynamic if they rotate on the thigh. The other think of course are the articulated perfect transformation hands. I don't want to beat a dead horse but I wished we had a 3rd party company that produced high quality replacement for the hands that could bend the trigger finger and hold the gun securely. Something like KFC did for MP Ultra Magnus. I still can't understand why Bandai didn't include a new set of hands with the Super Parts. That would make me buy an extra set for the Kai.
