    Oh wow, I was wondering who was necro'ing the thread this many years later! Having watched pretty much every "main" fansub of Frontier at the time, I'm certain I've seen your work, and greatly appreciate it---I still hold Frontier as the the best series in the franchise, and the availability+quality+speed of the subs back in the day certainly helped----it was the first anime I ever watched where it was "only slightly after the original broadcast" and the sense of community of "we all watched the show together" was like nothing this forum had had before.

    Trying to avoid freeze-framing the entire series to check and not trusting my memory: Did we ever actually see a VF-27 using the fold booster?

    I was very interested in retro Gears until I saw it was $25, and also remembered that mold's alt-mode. $25 is a lot for a minibot that I don't like what it turns into. (despite being a moderately big Gears fan). Still, cheaper than 3P...

    Still been waiting a QUARTER-CENTURY for a VFX-2 Ravens colors one: (only ever got to play the demo in the US, but it was fun while it lasted----and the -11 was the main valk on the demo disc)

    Yeah, I would like super parts, but not going to buy Brera's just for them (and they don't match anyways). Waited years hoping just maybe they'd make them a Tamashii exclusive or something... I at least have the fold booster from the original, so I can attach "something" extra.

    "the glitter on the electromagnetic shield of the canopy is thinner" ---tempted to get one just to swap out the canopy on Mirage's, hers is the most opaque of all. Maybe if it gets super cheap some day...

    After 7(?) years, decided to finally get the newer version of Grace's valk: (they don't show up often---saw two this year, which is very unusual---took it as a sign)

    Macross 30's "use, and lack of use" by Bandai is so weird----they made the YF-30 itself, but none of its AWESOME repaints in the game to get any use out of the mold. But they made -29 repaints. But not Mei's awesome white+purple -27...

    A non-PF VF-0D, using plastic colors similar to the HMR VF-0D, would be insta-bought... (as in, a VF-0D in the right colors, but without having to pay hundreds of extra dollars just to get those correct base colors)

    Same---still waiting for Max and Milia. I refuse to buy any DX VF-1 before that. Doesn't need a single new part, and can re-use 90% of the tampo printing. Just need new pilot names and modex numbers...

    With Macross Seven? It's gonna be Basara Prime, or Rodimus Song. Mylene/Arcee/MAXL would definitely work though, if they make a 2nd one...

    Well, the Shield Liger-Optimus has a ton of new parts, but the Godzilla OP and Megs look like minimal-effort repaints. So Basara's valk could run the gamut--I didn't instantly recognize the silhouette they showed, but it looks like it has half a VF-19 hanging upside down off its back. So likely a re-shell of an existing mold.

    I really like the Aces of Aviation HELMETS, I'd buy all of them, for display. But I'm not paying $$$ to get a whole big figure, just for the helmet...

    Getting this instead of dark green, or even better, Elvis pearl-white, is just mind-boggling...

    Yeah, I was thinking "starting with an unpainted one" might be the easiest option, than trying to remove certain bits of markings and REpaint. "First time they've ever been painted", in red, of simple stripes, would be easier for the wings and tailfins. Take the legs/fuselage/armor of this one, "blank" wings and tailfins, and go from there, if you want a truly G1 Jetfire.

    I was thinking similarly---red FAST packs alone are almost worth it. A Hikaru DYRL VF-1S was never that far off to customize, especially if you used some bits from a Hikaru TV 1J. But "completely repainting every bit of dark blue-grey-green FAST packs into bright red" is difficult for most anybody, especially if you want it to survive more than one removal of them.

    Yeah, I'd be more inclined to buy it if it was "blank" or more Autobot-esque markings---no diamond kite, no skulls, no UN SPACY. To get "proper" Autobot colors, will take more than just some insignia stickers---you'll need to repaint some areas. Could be just me, but the white skulls on the red tailfins seem especially odd---like, you gotta have a black background for white skulls. They are the #1 thing I think "it'd look better if they'd left them off".
