  1. For those of you who bought the conversion parts in white strong flexible polished, what did do you do to get the "grainy" texture out of it? Sand, paint, sand, clearcoat (lacquer)? I've used some of Veef's parts before and I painted them with Tamiya acrylics, but I've never tried painting anything this big and obvious, so if I go for it, I'd like to make it look good. Thanks!
  2. If you look quickly right after they're folding the federation flag, you can see a warehouse filled with cryo chambers. Pretty cool.
  3. Do you need replacement parts for the bicep part of the arm? I have spares from Yamato.
  4. I don't suppose any of you have a an unused decal sheet from the Hasegawa VF1 Black Aces model that you could possibly scan for me?
  5. I used super glue and epoxy to lock down my stands and it's about as secure as it's going to get. There's an inherent weakness to the materials used in the braces of the stand that we're not going to get around, no matter how many different adapters we build. It is what it is, a best available stand that's reasonably cheap and won't rip the paint off of our valks. Again, major props to exo for creating the solution for my somewhat harebrained idea.
  6. I wish we could just forward this thread to Yamato and be like..."see all the trouble we're going through? just re-issue the stands already!!!"
  7. I think I mentioned it in the other thread, but I tried a YF-19 and the screw mechanism on the gundam stand isn't strong enough to keep it upright.
  8. Ah, I'd like to see Bandai's take on the 19. I've seen some people put the VF-25 super packs on the Yamato 19, it doesn't fit so well, but it's a good idea.
  9. Has anyone on here ever played that DayZ mod for Arma2? Fun? Frustrating? Impossible without a guid/clan?
  10. The USMC assault deck would probably be a good substitute for an ARMD platform.
  11. Does hard to find stuff show up on yahoo japan auctions a lot? Been looking for a Super Ostrich, but they're not easy to find.
  12. Side question, but any updates on the Legioss hands?

    Macross 30

I pre-ordered the regular version thinking it was going to be similar to the DYRL blu ray game, but I'm not so sure now that I'm getting more details about the RPG aspects. If it's going to be like GTA or Zelda, where you have open world quests, I'm thinking that a non-japanese speaker isn't going to have an easy time figuring out what's going on
  14. For those of us who live in the US, this store has the same stands for pretty cheap as well: http://www.gundamstoreandmore.com/ban948216.html
  15. I've got a mind to put my VF-1 Cavaliers valk in some GBP-1S Armor. The blue color does match...
  16. I was going to try out Tamiya XF14 J.A. Gray on a test swatch. Hard to tell though.
  17. Actually, I was about to ask the exact same question.
  18. Can't be any worse than the balance issues on the YF-21
  19. Ok, here are some real quick shots. Just um, ignore the mess in the background... It's pretty clear that anything heavier than a VF-1 with super strike packs is gonna be pushing it. Even with the strike packs, I'm probably going to have to glue the arm to the base in order to keep it from wobbling too much. Either way, it's still cheaper than $100 OOP yamato stands. Skull Squadron atttaccccckkk!!!
  20. Ok, my order just arrived. Big plus to Exo for the design and craftsmanship. These adapters all fit flawlessly! I'll try and get some photos later, but the short of it is that a YF-19 with super pack and/or fold booster is just way too heavy on the back portion to stay upright. The screw in the joint of the gundam's arm is just not enough to hold up that much weight. As aceoftherebellion mentioned, gluing will probably solve the problem given how damn cheap the stands are, but I'm not set on using it with my YF-29 right now. I did put a VF-1 with super strike back on and it works perfectly! Will test some more ships later on. Thanks again Exo!!!
