  1. Personally, as an engineer, I want the things that I make to be useful and used. I find it insulting when I make something and it gets put on a shelf and forgotten. In this instance, many engineers took their time to design something to be utilized. If you leave it in a box, you're not utilizing it. It's just a waste of the engineers time. I buy things to use it, so I open them, so they get used. I appreciate the effort others have put into these things.
  2. Boy, I really hope they milk this mold a bit. Even with my distaste for the many braces it still looks fantastic in all three modes.
  3. I've never flushed money down the toilet before.
  4. What does a hell taco look like anyway?
  5. Oh man, that's cool! I didn't know there were model kits of the SDF-2 from Perfect Memory.
  6. So we're pics from people, that means this thing has been released? NY sure is taking their sweet time shipping this one.
  7. It's definitely there in the videos.
  8. What's this supposed VF-2 thing you guys are talking about now? I'd like to see it.
  9. So they are on hinges similar to how the 25 launchers are. Also, since you're one of the .00000001%ers you now have to take billions of photos from every angle/pose/mode imaginable.
  10. We'll see if they ship my two or make me wait.
  11. That whole Tamashii Webshop Exclusive concept is frakking retarded.
  12. Or one wing is a Tornado wing and the other wing is an Armored wing and we can start flying "uglies."
  13. It'll be on TV sometime anyway. Just have it on in the background and see how it is then. That's what I plan to do. Unless, within the next two weeks I run into the super-model who just HAS TO go see Ninja Turtles. I might sell myself out for that (it's more likely than more Robotech...)
  14. I never payed much attention to Robotech.com. It just seemed like a dead-end to me, even if I was a big fan (and still enjoy the books for what they are.) But... really? Let's just compare what is and isn't more likely. In the last six years there has been a new series, two movies and at least three video games. Right now I have fully six different VF-25's, all in various stages of naked, super packed, armored and Tornado's on the way. Plus two different types of 171, naked and armored with a third variant on the way. Four different types of YF-29, both naked and with super packs. Plus, forth-coming (less than a week) will be the YF-30. What has Robotech given those guys? The "likelihood" of more Macross is... not likely, it's eminent. Robotech... squat. Enjoy the squatting, neck-beard. I think Robotech fans are making me hate Robotech. lol
  15. That seems to be an argument for GoG being better than the Avengers. Everybody knew who everybody was going into it. All it had to do was be entertaining. It says something that five characters you knew nothing about have become favorites AND the movie was entertaining too.
  16. Good God, those clear stands are sexy!!!! I'll take twenty!
  17. Just release the third part of their fan film. It's better than anything HG will ever put out anyway.
  18. Saul Bellow, rather well known American Author. Robotech as a brand is all but dead, yes. It's possible some genius could come along and re-write it, a la Battlestart Galactica, and renew it somehow but at this point in time it's best for fans to import an Arcadia VF-1 and call it a decade.
  19. Oh, Dobber had the right title. Star Trek Continues is what it was called. I would say that what Continues going for it is that it's emulating the corn-ball production values of the original series so it's much easier to get away with looking like you're doing it right when those old shows were pretty rickety from the start.
  20. I don't think that is really a worry. There are all of those Star Trek Redone episodes now that straight up try to complete the original Enterprise' five year mission and Paramount hasn't shut them down. I like this in concept. Production values are good. The script could have been given another once over. And I think some of the dialog direction during the interviews could be a bit better. It still feels like a fan-film but it's a pretty high quality one. I would expect more from a 90 minute movie, however.
  21. That sanman guy is also the one who did the fancy contortionist move to equate Harmony Gold with Studio Ghibli. The fallout to this is interesting and crazy. Some of these responses in-particular, but also in general, remind me of a quote: "A great deal of intelligence can be invested in ignorance when the need for illusion is deep." I suppose that sums up the Robotech fandom the last thirty years, really.
  22. This isn't an isolated incident. We've seen this same scenario play out over and over this past year. Whatever they were doing to fulfill orders, they are no longer able to do. I'm with Loop, I'm betting I'm going to get screwed out of at least my Alto parts because of their idiot inability to split up a pre-order.
