  1. From the look of the trailer - is Bondarchuk Russia's answer to Baz Luhrmann?
  2. I like those two: More pics of the MG Geara Doga: http://gundamguy.blogspot.de/2013/05/mg-1100-ams-119-geara-doga-on-display.html Look at that frame:
  3. * transforms Bandai VF-25 into Battroid mode*
  4. The fighter mode has a nice 80s style to it, it actually meets my mental image of the VF-1 from the animation better than the Hasegawa design. The battroid lacks all the anime magic that made it work IMO. And WTH were they thinking with those panel lines in the chest intakes?
  5. Hot Wheels toys of the new ships: http://www.thetrekcollective.com/2013/05/first-look-at-hot-wheels-uss-vengeance.html
  6. Any info who does the interface screens for the show? I love the designs, they remind me of Osamu Yamazaki's work (FF: The Spirits within).
  7. Also, pics of the 1/72 Cosmo Falcon: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10228109a/20/1
  8. So the Luftwaffe has to drop it's 1.5 billion Euro RQ-4 "Eurohawk" program because the aircraft doesn't have an automatic collision detection and isn't allowed the fly in European airspace? *insert epic fail meme*
  9. Hasegawa's YF-21 is on sale at Hobbysearch for 1560 Yen: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10027949
  10. Here's the interesting story of the Viper Mk. II design right from the creator, along with some nice renders & facts from the show: http://sci-fi-museum-pierre-drolet-com.webs.com/viper-mark-ii-and-iib
  11. Well, it has some big names attached so I imagine they'll do a proper marketing campaign. If this does well we might get some good looking old school SF movies going.
  12. Exactly. Even physical models built for films have a given "resolution" in their size/level of details and the quality of the surface finish. BTW you'll be amazed how many physical models were used in the prequels. The modelers put even more work into the perfection of these to keep up with the image quality of the CG surroundings and the requirement of digital shooting.
  13. The Major letdown with 3D-printing your own models is that you spend more time working at the computer than on your workbench, whereas modeling time for me is the time I specifically do not spend at the computer.
  14. So she was the one who ripped the concept from "Simulacron 3"?
  15. Yeah, but on the other side I learned that in hospitals without the GE software, the personnel has no idea where the ultrasound device is at the moment.
  16. There are "blueprints" for Elysium done in a deliberate Syd Mead fashion at http://www.armadyne.net/
  17. 917-30 build for (and dominated) the 1973 Can-Am with an insane 1.200 bhp. I would have preferred the closed LeMans body, but this was the car I was given. I guess the scale is around 1/32. Here's the current state:
  18. Maybe it's a new paradox psychology marketing strategy: They want us to flock into the cinemas to see how bad it really is.
  19. There's a thread at Hobbyfanatics that should give you some insight: http://www.hobbyfanatics.com/index.php?/topic/41397-mcmodels-1144-qubeley-early-review/
