  1. Yes sir. As you can see from the pics, because of the absolute butcher job I did getting the parts off the resin blocks.. (sorry Cap)... didn't have the appropriate tools at the time and got impatient...this was always gonna be a putty heavy project. With the new stuff I applied it, wiped it off mostly with a moist finger tip, wiped it off with a paper towel or qtip and went to go take the wife to dinner. Got back and applied a bit more water for cleanup and the result can be seen all around the gear doors. I even managed to recreate a pretty convincing leading edge rounded putty job where the wing meets the body that I had snapped off. Sigh... if only I had known about this stuff sooner!
  2. Today's top tip..... In short.... buy Perfect Plastic Putty....water soluble... It's brilliant. THROW AWAY the Tamiya crap putty and you won't have 400 hours of sanding to deal with.

The new name of this website should be: Macrossworld -- Nice people fixing Bandai's mistakes since 1999.

Fellow Texan here.. Our very own @Shizuka the Cat has started a thread for this. So maybe you can find some help there! Good Luck!
  5. QFT!!! My best friend and I, who are now 42, grew up together in the 80's and are HARD CORE OT lovers (and yeh, we bashed the prequels when they came out, but now looking back, they kinda weren't all that bad..minus Jar Jar obviously, and did have some good acting from Ewan McGregor and Ian McEmperor, and great lightsaber fight scenes) talked today and decided NOT to go see Solo in the theater this Friday. We're going to see Deadpool 2. I will see Solo when it hits Netflix or Amazon, as we both said, we're sure it's an ok flick, I haven't heard anyone just straight trash it of the people I hang around and work with. But yeh, I'm over giving Disney and Kathleen Kennedy my Star Wars money. Until she is fired and they hire writers/directors who "get it", we're out.

This is the absolute truest thing about Bandai releases one could possibly come up with..LMFAO.."dont count on it!"
  7. Got the pilots arms glued on, need to decide on space suit colors for Macross pilots...
  8. leave it to the Brits to come up with it. Water soluble putty ...I ordered a tube from MegaHobby. Dammit..1 day to late for the Cat's Eye. Should ALWAYS Google things before you start something..LOL
  9. SEE!!! ...and that's precisely why I HATE having to putty and sand, with Tamiya putty there is NO WAY NOT to loose rivets and panel lines IMHO when sanding down the excess putty because it's like effing concrete once it sets, and don't get me started on that green squadron crap or whatever it's called, it's 10 times worse. I use to use regular old spackling, like from Home Depot, because you could wet your finger and simply wipe away the access and leave a nice filled crack! I don't understand why SOMEONE can't come up with something like that that won't crack over time, which is what the spackling eventually did.
  10. If they sold a figure pack of all the characters together in civilian clothes, or what they "normally" appeared in, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Then give me Corg, Sera and The Regis as a bad guy 3 pack! (sorry, don't remember the actual Mospeada names)
  11. Finally got in some GOOD bench time this afternoon, and making good progress on the Cat's Eye.. puttying/sanding is my least favorite thing to do in the entire world... but I'm getting it done so I can move on to final assembly and paint. Engines are primed now at least... more to come tomorrow as I'm off work! ...P.S...who wanted my landing gear around here??? I can't remember.
  12. hey, those are cool! Gotta get a Lego Stig from Top Gear to put in the Caterham!

  17. I don't care how crappy the writing is..I MUST SEE THIS on blu-ray -- eventually.
  18. Nice pickup -- that one is a safe bet, unlike the Alto with the craptastic plastic wing pings syndrome and the always beautiful but craptastic CF version.
  19. wow...I would have gotten some of those to play around with fun battle damage/weathering if nothing else..oh well.
