I have over 25 of these and as Mommar and others have suggested the QC is hit and miss. Some are absolutely fantastic and some are not. Some can be made to look a bit better with some panel lining and after market decals. I have stayed away from the XL releases as all the reports say they are pretty bad QC wise, with the Enterprise E being the pick of the litter. My collecting of them has gone way down as I simply don't have the space or money to get more than one or two more if they come out with a ship i just have to have. I get them from a guy on Ebay who always ships quick, has a fair price and has sent me a free one when I mentioned the Enterprise I received had a broken nacelle out of the box. PM me if you want his Ebay name.

I wouldn't know how to even attempt to paint this with a normal airbrush, I think you're more into the territory of like professional grade spray equipment for something this big.

Looks nice, but I just can't be bothered...funds are tight..honeymoon this summer and I'm about to buy a camera system for the house. Already have the Arcadia 19 with the Shapeways Arm Cannon, so I'm good. I bet this pre-order is gonna go in less than 5 minutes...if not waaay less. Good luck to those who try though!

If you don't already have it, buy or download the Fire Bomber CD and go for a drive with it..it's a blast...windows down, CRANK IT! Seriously though...the Yamato 19's are pretty amazing toys, no matter the color! -
@jeniusForgive me for asking this...but how did you video review it already if it hasn't come in? Did you borrow someone's? Or did you pull some Luke from Last Jedi type sh*t and "force vision" one into your house???? My brain is just wondering...Great video review as always BTW..

Xigfrid did his homework on the scale with the help of others from this site I believe, so I gotta go with yeh, it's that big. Here's a pic with the Arcadia 19 and the Yamato 21. If Bandai did a YF-21 new from the ground up in DX, I'd most likely bite!

Yeh...I gotta agree, I don't think the guys getting ones with postal stamping and no brown shipper box are getting "direct" from Bandai. But who knows, as long as the toy is sealed, in the end who cares?...just an interesting turn of events with the release of this bird to say the least!

I have over 10 of my Yamato ver2 birds in fighter mode sitting on their gear and have had for years on glass shelves in a sealed curio cabinet....no issues here. Just like new.

Good looking VF-4 and hand model there! I finally got around to ordering my WeCheer mini grinder tool thing and some diamond cutting wheels this morning so I can continue work on my CatzEye Lecon Pwane. Work has been killing me for the last month, haven't event touched the model desk.. however... today I've managed to clean up the model room / desk and just getting back to a basics, hand brush painting a little project that has been languishing for far to long..

Still not regretting not buying this. Congrats to those who did and who are excited about it though! I eagerly await some of you to get them in hand and throw up some pics and initial thoughts. As always will watch the Jenuis review when it gets done. I dunno...I just gotta say it..I still like the Beagle bikes more..It just really captured my inner 10 year old heart with a feeling of "now THAT is how a Cyclone should look!"

Sounds like a great kit! Maybe not Bandai Star Wars level, but sounds like Wave did a pretty darn good job. I wouldn't mind picking one up at some point. What's a decent price for the kit?
