  1. But I don't subscribe to Disney+ EDIT - and some of those good bits are good indeed "No - MY Slaughter" comes to mind.
  2. Ignoring is not the same thing as dumping. Dumping is a divorce, ignoring is the creepy uncle at Christmas.
  3. I'll just pass on all of it. As for Erasing the sequels. No need to bother really since I doubt anyone much cares one way or another.
  4. So I guess saying it was a dreadful movie with a couple of good bits is right out?
  5. I keep getting that one mixed up with the one where Earth was destroyed and the heroes are chased around by migraine inducing CGI spaceships (no not The Last Starfighter). I'll have to give this a watch.
  6. Lately? Is that a code word for "his entire career"? He has had some good ones and he is a likeable leading man in the Ahrnold/Sly mold but he has been in a lot crap since forever.
  7. We saw the same show. Made more unwatchable in my case since I was listening to the English VA cast and a couple of them just didn't work.
  8. Perhaps I'll signup for D+ once a year for a month to catch up. Muppets I'm interested in as well as Mandolorian and Clone Wars stuff. The reality show junk I can probably do without unless it actually focuses on the STUFF instead of the actor. Pawn Stars and such were unwatchable due to the crap about the "actors" - I don't give a rip about them.
  9. The EDF has always had some problems with ship layout and arc of fire. The main guns can't fire straight forward on the Andromeda (or Yamato) for instance.
  10. I wouldn't call Lost Boys gritty - grungy maybe.
  11. The first three(?) books all consist of old people talking. Sort of like "My Dinner with Andre", in space, with more people talking... I think it is the fourth book where we get some dering do. EDIT - ACK! No way in HADES I'm signing up for anything Apple to watch it. Maybe if it comes to other platforms later.
  12. I'd go with not using actual color and instead using what it looked like on screen. The reason is color correction on screen makes the actual color almost meaningless. For an extreme example think of black and white films where things in real life were all kinds of whacky colors that only looked good in Black and White.
  13. Lovely Hollywood Rifle Prop - of course they say it has caseless ammunition but when Ripley is shown how to use the Rifle the ammo is clearly in cases in the clip...
  14. Three great roles (totally different characters too) from one great actor.
  15. Anyone know when the season will finish up?
  16. If you have not seen the movie be sure to watch it too. An excellent side story.
  17. I got some story ideas for them! Palpatine 90210. Or Sith Babies. Or Greedo at 16 (yeah, I'm dating myself there)
  18. To be fair. Lucas pulls the same stunt with Star Wars. He claims, sometime after SW came out, that he had plotted out the whole thing ahead of time. In truth he had a bunch of notes and story ideas, most of which were dropped or whittled away to come up with a feature length movie. Every film has tons of material that never made it to the screen and the Sequels and prequels (even Empire and Jedi) were nothing like what Lucas originally had planned. I could come up with a 300+ series story arc and in a couple days and I'm not a writer. All you need is to stuff in enough filler episode titles.
  19. I'll use Robocop as an example- the R rated bits MAKE the movie. You just can't have RC with the R. Trying to do so as a PG-13 and R versions is not possible.
  20. > Untrue. Its the most popular segment but the Southern Cross and Mospaeda/New Generation portions have their fans. OK, it's only true like the line about there being no cannibals in the British army from Monty Python.
  21. Shooting an R and PG13 version at the same time is a bad idea - it essentially means that the R rated bits will have to be nothing more than needless filler. Otherwise you end up with the mess that occurs when you change "Son of a .." to "scumbum"
  22. The problem with Commercial space exploration is that there has to be profit somewhere down the line - and not very FAR down the line either. Yes government budgets are at the mercy of politicians wanting some other program but corporate ones are at the mercy of quarterly results being king. That has led to satellite launch vehicles being produced, quite well too, and may eventually be leveraged into platforms to go to other planets - but I'm not betting I'll be around to see it.
  23. Not mooching off the Russians to get to orbit is a good thing but our manned space exploration budget it still pathetic. You don't get anywhere on the cheap.
  24. Before I was born we had put multiple men into space. A few years after I was born we put men on the moon. Now we, put men into orbit. I find it hard to get excited, or even care really. All it really does is show the pathetic state of the country's ambitions in regard to manned space exploration.
