  1. It really is a beautiful VF. Graham
  2. Damn auto correct on phone. Should have been "battroid", not "bathroom" Although my Valks do often accompany me to the bathroom (thought that was normal behaviour for a Macross fan Heck, I've had Valks sleep, on the pillow next to me before Graham
  3. I paid HK$1,050 for the VF-19S and HK$899 for the VF-1A movie Canon fodder. Graham
  4. Another thing to consider, Acadia probably had to pay Tenjin a fairly substantial fee for the design. As much as Tenjin loves Macross, he's still a commercial artist, not a charity. The negotiation and cost of licencing rights with Big West may also factor into the cost. There's many unknowns to consider before people start complaining about the cost. I personally like the design and I'm going to buy 2, one to display in fighter and one in bathroom, to support Arcadia and support the 30th anniversary of Macross. Graham
  5. All the extra multi-color tampo printing does actually add to the production cost you know. Acadia doesn't have magic tampo printing faeries that magically print all that multi colour printing on free of charge. Also, yes I guess this will likely be a limited quantity collectors item. I suspect one of the reasons towards the end that Yamato reduced the amount of tampo printing on its Macros toys was to reduce costs. Graham
  6. The extra cost us probably at least partially due to the large amount of Tampo printing required. Graham
  7. Latest haul tonight, from walk-in store buy. That takes me to three VF-19S now. Such a beautiful VF. Graham
  8. Looks great! Put me down for 2. Graham
  9. Just wondering does anybody actually bother to use the grenades and mines? I've never used them, seem a bit pointless really. Graham
  10. Personally, I don't like the Bluray version, there are many times when it looks too grainy. Graham
  11. I sincerely doubt Arcadia will change much if anything on the VF-1 v.2 mold. We might get a minor tweak here and there, but I doubt even that. I think the gimmicks referred to most like just mean the existing gimmicks that were on the Yamato v.2. So Acadia will just likely issue the v.2 in a new box. That's my best guess. Graham
  12. Lucky here in Hong Kong no import tax at all. Graham
  13. And to the original topic author, about the thread title we usually just refer to him as Tenjin around here. Graham
  14. I understand why they did the ankle panel and also the joint below the intake that alows the thigh to pivot to the side for greater poseability, but in that Hikaru DYRL VF-1S battroid pic it just looks odd. And yes, the fighter mode nose is off. Graham
  15. Topic closed as we already have a topic on this. Graham
  16. Yeah, I know that trick, used it many times for quests hunting other mecha, Q-Rau, Q-Rhea etc. But I can't even find a single damn VF-1S anywhere. It's like they've all gone on holiday. I've had this quest sitting uncompleted for ages now. Graham
  17. Really not liking the joint below the intake or the moveable panel on the inner lower leg. Both look weird in battroid mode. Graham
  18. Anybody knows where VF-1S spawn? I've got a hunter's guild quest to kill 10, but can't find any anywhere. Well, I found some in a cave or base, but killin g them doesn't count towards that Hunter's Guild Quest Graham
  19. I still have the instructions at home. Can scan then, but it won't be until Friday. Graham
  20. In the last 26 years, I've owned examples of pretty much every VF-1 toy line made (except Toynami) and I've never seen or heard of a VF-1 with see through windows on the shoulders. Graham
  21. Well, it had a good story. Graham
  22. I actually like it that NY undeclares the value, as when my wife sees the cheaper value on the parcel, she gives me less grief Graham
  23. I think if you are playing on easy difficulty, you can't issue orders, you only have the auto modes. You have to play at normal difficulty or above tho be able to issue orders. The auto modes were apparently added for the newer generation of Frontier fans who don't like mecha battles or whatever. Graham
  24. I've never hated Mac II, but then I love all Macross animes. I'd love a 1/60 VF-2SS W/SAP from Arcadia. It's a beautiful design. Graham
  25. This is Sparta(n)! LOL Graham
