  1. Even if this ankle issue persists up to the VF-19P, I would still get the 19P. A lot of people would argue that Gerwalk is one of the many things that define Macross, but for me the 19's Gerwalk isn't really one of the best Gerwalks designed so I wouldn't be display my 19's on that mode. As jenius said, this toy has two other modes that do well and I will rather switch between those two than struggle with Gerwalk. I'll just try not to pose any future 19 toy in any aggressive Gerwalk so that I don't do the same with my Kai (excess for that time when I take a few photos to show each mode for my blog).
  2. @OptionZero can you show any photos or describe where exactly the metal broke? Was it exactly in half as you said or was it near the pivoting end? The first report of this showed that the metal broke near the very pivot and I'm curious if yours is the same and if this was caused by tight hip joints. To anyone who has opened the hip part of this toy, can this be remedied by opening the hip assembly and loosening the three screws inside? They seem to be holding intact this gray sort of frame that goes over the metal hip joint and I wonder if it will relieve the friction when loosened.
  3. @Graham I think my Kai had very minor damage on that part you mentioned. It was indeed sharp, not to mention easily exposed when the tail fins are folded for the Sound Booster attachment. Not a biggie though but it's worth watching out for.
  4. I wonder what they actually say about those pictures. Is it a sort of "This is how it's supposed to be" picture like they had for positioning the limbs in the belly of the YF-21?
  5. So far the left ankle on mine which I loosened on my first few transformations (wasn't aware of that issue back then) is still loose and I'll probably opt to display this in Fighter good. If I'd have it in Battroid display, I probably have to opt for the Yamato stand so I'm sure those ankles don't give in with all the weight. Despite the said issues, this is still my favoritie Yammie Valk. I think the 19S will be better in terms of fixing the issues, but this one with the Sound Boosters will be really a tough one to top shelf-appearance-wise.
  6. They're a bit too big for me so I only have one (my first perfect transformation Yammie, Max's VF-1J). I like the v2 1/60 more but yes it doesn't make the 1/48 scale obsolete. In fact, I want to get a 1/48 stealth 1J.
  7. Since they're Figuarts ZERO, I'm pretty certain they are smaller than 1/8 scale. I bet around the same size as the Beach Queens Minmay (1/10 scale)
  8. Yup, he said the beam adapter isn't included and both legs will house the gun when it comes apart for storage. Not really a biggie for me since I love this unit that much.
  9. Now if Macross 7 featured emo rock songs, someone would have committed suicide with their Fire Valk by now. Just kidding. =P
  10. I would really love it if they release the 19P with the planet Zola and the space whales on the box design.
  11. Was that photo from Japan? Where does Yamato have their Valks manufactured anyway, Japan or China?
  12. I myself hardly find most Sheryl figures nice. Best in my book would have to be the Megahouse one, then the best SQ would be the second one based on the movie. Most of the face finishes of other Sheryl figures seem to be a hit-or-miss imo.
  13. I like Basara first because of his music. I love Fire Bomber songs more than any other Macross singers' and I listen to them on a daily basis. Second is because I do have a jerk attitude like he does, and so I can relate to him. I'm usually the one that gets it my way without bothering what others say about me. When my circle of friends usually go out drinking or on a birthday party, I'm the one least expected to join since I'm on my own doing what I want without bothering about what others say or think.
  14. I'm fine with the gun splitting apart to fit in each leg. Better than having a whole rifle to stow away like the VF-22S. Seeing how thin they made the legs in favor of a sleek Fighter mode, I'm impressed that they even managed to have a hatch for the gun.
  15. Since I knew I couldn't sleep well tonight till I find out, I transformed the Kai in Battroid with the Sound Boosters. It looked really good on the Valkyrie stand without being too high, though I'm still curious what Mighty Block owners would have to say. I mean, can it even support the overall weight? I'm doing this since I'm thinking of getting a new cabinet and for sure I would want the Kai in Battroid with Sound Boosters display while on a flight stand for maximum display impact. The said combination would require at least 16 inches of vertical clearance, which will leave around 1 inch clearance after the Boosters are opened.
  16. Just a question. Is it possible to have the Fire Valk in Battroid mode with Sound Boosters on a Yamato Mighty Block stand? I mean, will the legs of the bot clear the surface at all given the short stand? Or is it recommended to use the regular Yamato Valkyrie stand for a mid-air pose?
  17. Did Alto really came back? Some of my friends were saying that you can hear his voice somewhere during the credits and I don't hear any. Anyone can enlighten me on this?
  18. ^ I hope it wouldn't be much to ask about the VF-1J M&M's too.
  19. @Actar haha now all we need is someone to make a RanRanRu rendition of Fire Bomber songs!
  20. Mine would have to be this. It was a tough choice against Max's VF-22S, but since mine had somewhat loose knees, I opted for the much more solid Fire Valkyrie.
