  1. I don't have anything against the game, but I'm somewhat annoyed that this VF-4 they're making for this year isn't the Hikaru Ichijo version. It's 2012 and Macross' 30th anniversary, and we finally get the VF-4, but it's based on a game. What gives? Well, at least Yamato can release a Hikaru Ichijo version in the future that's not a web exclusive item and has the fixes to design any problems that this game version might or might not sustain.
  2. I don't like the idea of new 1/60 VF-22S since I'm happy with my M&M, but I do welcome the idea of a new YF-21 since I still don't have one. It would be great to have one with a new YF-19 too.
  3. Does this have a better adapter for the stands? I mean, the 19 Kai always took off from its Fighter mode adapter due to the back of plane's weight.
  4. It just takes a matter of moving the other joints around to make it look flush in Fighter mode. When I got my Kai, one of those two flaps would tend to open out in Fighter mode due to the shield, but a few moving of the arm joints fixed that. Do note that the shoulders themselves can spin forward/backwards and you also have to tinker with that too in order to make the shoulder flaps sit flush.
  5. Yeah, I know that logo took a lousy attempt to get in there. =P
  6. Thanks. Well, I guess one can use up other kite logos from other sticker sheets if they mess around with the trimming of the edges.
  7. Graham, can you see how many of those kite logo stickers of that same size you used were included in the sticker sheet?
  8. Yes, sometimes I had to push it hard too in order to lock it in place. It's a must since it's needed for keeping the arms compact in fighter mode.

    Merry X-mas

It's actually 10:20 p.m. of December 25th here in my place. Either way, Merry Christmas to everyone!
  10. Well, I would always say they should have tampo printed the kite logos, but it's not going to be a biggie for me. I've stickered more than a hundred Zoids in my collection and trimming something like the kite logo or the D-force logo wouldn't be too hard. But yeah, I do understand if anyone would argue that the stickers are too thick, etc.
  11. It spooked me that those tabs were in the hole when took the Quarter again from the box just now. I guess I just needed to put some more muscle on that metal waist bar. At least everthing's fine now. This baby is awesome, but he's huge and somewhat hard to pose with the weight of the arms factored in.
  12. It's okay, man. I hope others would enlighten me on that though. I do find this item nice though it was way harder to handle than I expected and trying to pose it for Macross Cannon firing is really tough.
  13. If it's all right, I'll ask it again. Are those tabs in the photo meant to connect to the back of the Quarter? Or is that hole on the back just meant for the stand in Attack/Robot mode?
  14. Sorry for zombie-fying this thread, but I just got mine yesterday for a major steal. I was going to set it up for carrier mode and I just noticed these tabs behind the waist. Are they supposed to fully connect to the back? Coz I saw some holes on the back and I felt like they had to up there. I just couldn't do so since the metal waist bar is so darn tight on mine.
  15. @Graham I myself am fine with the Gerwalk on my Kai. I do have the loose issue on the left ankle, but it was because of me not knowing that too much posing can cause that looseness. It was a fault on my part, so I completely have no rants with how Yamato designed the 19. And since I don't prefer displaying Valks in Gerwalk, it wouldn't be of any problem for me at all.
  16. I wish Yamato would revisit these. I have been always in awe at the sight of Shin's VF-0A with the Ghost. It has a great contrast with being a futuristic transforming fighter plane with a realistic, modern color scheme.
  17. I think it's for the people who prefer the show looks that doesn't have that much details (like me). Anyway, I totally dig how the Emerald Force logo was on that tailfin. It immediately caught my eye. Great job.
  18. After seeing those pics, I wanna do a facepalm and ask myself why I never thought of using those claw-like thingies to support the Kai in the Yamato Valkyrie stand given that it's heavy on the rear side especially with the Sound Boosters. But then again, can those claw-like thingies really support all that weight given that they're not ratcheted and might just flop once the Fire Valk gets detached from the adapter?
  19. After that Gerwalk test I did on the Kai, I would say I'm okay with either ball or ratchet joints for ankles. I prefer ratchet a bit more, but ball joints won't deter me from getting a good Valk. After all, I mostly display in Fighter mode and I would mostly opt for having a stand if ever I decide to display in Battroid. The loosening on my Kai's left ankle was caused by me forcing it before I knew of the hazards of doing so, so it's something that I can accept. At least it's not like Bandai's time-bomb looseness on the some of their DXs.
  20. Well, for me, the Sound Boosters just make the Fire Valk stand out. I mean, no matter how much I find the 19S awesome, it just couldn't compare with a Fire Valk with its Sound Boosters on it.
  21. I'm not really into bending one knee more than the other since I like it symmetrical. Those knees are on the last click forward. Gerwalk joint was on the third click, and the knee was pulled one click down. Ankles, I think were just pulled one click down since I hate seeing that metal shaft exposed on Gerwalk. If I spread out the legs a bit more, the weight will already pull it downwards. That pose is actually way better than this one that I shot for my blog post of the toy:
  22. Since I've been bothered by this ankle issue lately, I had to see again if my Kai can pull off a good Gerwalk despite the very loose left ankle. And guess what? I was able to pull it off nicely. Transformed it back to Fighter mode, though, for display. I guess I can sleep well now after confirming that I can still make a good Gerwalk.
